Happy Fox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 EXCLUSIVE: Leicester stars set for £280k bonus EACH after sealing Premier League promotion LEICESTER'S heroes will bank up to £280,000-a-man after sealing promotion back to the Premier League. Share 16 By Adrian Kajumba/ Published 8th April 2014 BIG MONEY: Leicester's players are set for a cash bonus after landing promotion to the top flight [Paul Carroll] And some will also see their wages double next season after ending the club's 10-year wait for a return to the top-flight. Nigel Pearson's top players had pay-rise clauses written into their deals and will be in the money when they get their hands on a slice of Leicester's £5m bonus pot. “To secure promotion with six games remaining is a great achievement, but we want to see the job through properlyâ€Foxes stars agreed the scheme at the start of the season and will now reap the rewards after their top-flight place was confirmed on Saturday with six games to go. Players will receive around £6,000 for each match-day squad they have been involved in this season. And that means the likes of main men Kasper Schmeichel, Wes Morgan, Danny Drinkwater, David Nugent and Jamie Vardy will be laughing all the way to the bank. Leicester can fund the bonus payments and wage increases from the estimated £55m extra they will earn from TV money alone next year. They are also guaranteed around £60m from parachute payments - even if they get relegated after just one season back in the top flight. Pearson's side return to action tonight against play-off hopefuls Brighton and he has promised the Foxes won't now take their foot off the pedal. "To secure promotion with six games remaining is a great achievement, but we want to see the job through properly," he said. "We are back to work now and ready to focus on a tough game against a very good side."
cc_star Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 The money is there & going to have to go somewhere, shared out based on appearances in the matchday squad seems fair
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Conrad will be laughing all the way to the bank...
Russell sprout Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Seems fair enough to me - good for them! You won't be complaining about the cost of your match ticket then
indierich06 Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Conrad will be laughing all the way to the bank... I'm struggling to think of another footballer who has earned so much over such a long period for a single club, while never getting a game. When was his last appearance for the first team?! He's been here about 13 seasons and made less than 30 appearances... Good work Conrad! You won't be complaining about the cost of your match ticket then Oh yeah, because if they didn't get this bonus, ticket prices would remain exactly the same as they are now...
Tommy G Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 So Conrad has been on our bench all season. So he's eant a 46 x £6000 = £276,000 bonus. Tidy
StanSP Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 It's fully deserved really. I wonder what their bonus will be next season if they stave off relegation.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 So Conrad has been on our bench all season. So he's eant a 46 x £6000 = £276,000 bonus. Tidy Legend.
Aus Fox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Will Conrad be made to earn his bonus? Will he be given a shot between the sticks between now and the end of the season? Surely he will be released at the end of te season and a new back up keeper will be found, so should he be given a farewell appearance? Maybe with the clause of every goal he lets in he loses 10% of his bonus.
Tommy G Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 I dont think he'll be released as he is under contract...?
StanSP Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 So Conrad has been on our bench all season. So he's eant a 46 x £6000 = £276,000 bonus. Tidy And then you have his actual salaray. For arguments sake let's say £2000 per week. 2000 x 52 = £104,000 per year pre-tax. This season he's earnt £380,000 pre-tax. Fair play Conrad. You know what you're doing. And if FM is to be believed, there'll be an 'unused substitute fee' as well

Surely he will be released at the end of te season and a new back up keeper will be found, so should he be given a farewell appearance? Maybe with the clause of every goal he lets in he loses 10% of his bonus. It might be in our best interests to keep him on. You won't find many like Conrad, who are happy to sit on the bench and only ever come in to the side at the last resort. We could find a new 'back-up' goalkeeper but it won't take that long for them to pipe up about not being played.
Master Fox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 When I grow up I want to be a reserve goal keeper. I'm pretty sure 85% of males aged 18-45 could easily do what Conrad does. I think the fans have contributed more than Conrad this season. I wonder how he got the job? Is his dad the kit man or something?
Unabomber Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 I think Nigel has forgotten about him and thinks that we are only allowed 6 subs. As soon as he has put the team sheet to one side, Conrad pounces into action, he blends in with the white walls (due to his pasty complexsion) and paws his name at the bottom of the sheet. By this time Nigel is on his way to his vantage point high in the stands and is none the wiser. In my opinion he deserves his bonus for the sheer audacity of it all.
The Guvnor Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 I have a pair of Conrads gloves given to my son after Richie Wellens knocked my son off his seat with a warm up shot at Bristol City,he is a top man and fair play to him for his loyalty to LCFC.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Isn't it the same for most back up keepers?
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Conrad will be laughing all the way to the bank... All the way to the tanning salon I reckon

I was merely asking a question, not making a statement,so to answer my question, would u mind paying more or not
Guest Bilo Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 I'm just laughing at the fact that Conrad has found himself as a Premier League goalkeeper!

I know they are far more likely to play but I want players who want to be in the first 11. He may not get to play very often but personally I want a reserve goalie better than Logan.

MrSpaM Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Conrad ah well he's been a decent servant to the club, and he's probably on pennies compared to the rest of them.
