Blessing in disguise

Tonight has shown us;

Koncheskey, King, Nugent, Dyer are not good enough for the Premier Leauge next season.

Moore is way out of his depth at right back. Class at centre half and will jump in front of a bullet to keep out the opposition, but technically he is not good enough his control, positioning, passing was all over the place.

As much as I love Phillips it's time to call it a day, no impact what so ever, no movement. Like playing with 10 men from the off.

Shown how vital to our side De Laet, James, Vardy and potentially Schlupp are. There was absolutely no movement, no pace, no creativity, no breaking up play, just an horrendous performance all round.

A new striker, a winger with pace & a left back to compete with Schlupp are a must!

One game can't tell you any of those things.

lol. King, Nugent and Dyer.

Fvck off mate.

Nugent is our top scorer and has the highest amount of assists (joint top in the league before tonight). Dyer made a bit of a difference today with his pace and set up the goal tonight. King wasn't the worse player on the pitch.

What are you even basing that on?

Pace is vital to our team and i do think we struggle at times when the likes of Wood play because we dont keep it on the deck. And Super Kev starting was always going to make the night difficult i think.

Nugent was very poor today i thought, spends all his time on the wing and never in the box.

Had no strikers all first half

Can't help but agree with you with Koncheky. He hasn't looked good since he's started growing hair.

Don't forget how good Dyer was at the start of the season - his pace will trouble right backs all over the country.

Nugent has premier league experience which is definitely welcome here. Even though they had bad games he's got 19 goals and 12 assists - certainly deserves his chance.

As for Andy King maybe you're right. He's still valuable and would certainly sell for a good amount.. maybe Nigel won't keep him..

Are you even taking in to account the effect of what happened at the weekend? It's clear the players had very little training and weren't focussed on tonight at all. You can't come to the conclusion that they aren't good enough for the Premier League because they lost ONE game and have come off the back of a TWENTY-TWO game unbeaten run.

Only conclusion from tonight are:

1. Performances will drop off slightly the game after promotion/title is achieved.

2. It's best not to get absolutely trolled a couple of days before a game.

No, today has shown us that no matter how good you are, you can't go on the piss for 3 days and then turn up to play a football match at this level.

Whether those players will cut it remains to be seen.

Wasilewski had a poor game (the goal-line clearance excepted) I want Moore in there for the last five. Give him a run of games to get his confidence up before he steps up to the Premier League. Wasyl, as good as he is, is a dirty fvker and his natural reaction to being beaten is to raise his elbows. That tackle on Lingaard was a shocker, as well.

Nugent has been out of form for a while and when Vardy was fit I wanted to drop him for Wood, King can do a job and Dyer is amazing. But Konch ,No offence I like him, but he just seems a bit ... how can I put it not good enough any more I mean 3 years ago maybe he just, for me at least, lazy at getting back and defending but eh its not up to me its up to Nigel Pearson and if they are good enough for him then they are good enough for me

Tonight showed us the effects of too much alcohol.

Pretty much

Nugent couldn't do much more.. partnered with a legless phillips he couldn't do much more than he did.. one game mate.. players heads werent in it

In what was a poor performance, King was probably our best player tonight. Nugent had another poor game, but still he is our top scorer & assister, he does offer something now and again. Thought Dyer did well when he came on.

Really don't know what was up with Liam tonight, yes he is a centre back, but he has had some very solid games at right-back.

For me though I do agree on Konchesky, totally past it now, while Phillips was terrible absolutely awful.

Think the only thing I learnt from tonight was np won't be letting the boys out again until the title/season is over.

It seems even beer and casinos are bad for professional sports men. Not just us meer mortals.

for me konchesky had the worst game tonight. pretty much nothing positive about his performance and sadly seems like it could be the end for him at this level. Thank god somebody realised schlupp would make a decent left back or i cant imagine we'd be where we are now.

Tonight showed us none of those things.

Since Vardy's been out we've struggled to adapt our game to a more static front two. Nugent isn't someone who'll sprint 30 yards into a channel or make space for midfielders to run in to.

As well as Mahrez has done, I'm more of a fan of Dyer running at people not doing fancy flicks through them.

You say Moore isn't a right back then say that Schlupp is so promising.....?

Tonight showed us that we need Vardy back, need strikers to take their chances (Phillips after 5 mins) and need to get off the beer and get back to winning the league

What a blessing in disguise this post is, I now know to ignore everything else you write. No offense.

Maybe I was watching a different game tonight, how people can say King was our best player is beyond me.

Without Morgan & Waselewski it could of been 5 or 6 tonight.

When you look at midfielder partnerships there is usually the one man who sits back and breaks the play up and the one man who gets forward and gives you that creativity. King fits neither of these roles due to his lack of strength and his shying out of challenges. Going forward he doesn't give you any creativity or that bit of magic required to change a game.

Let's remember we will be playing Premier League football next season and we will be coming up against the worlds best such as Hazard, Yaya Toure, Gerrard. Do people seriously think Andy King can compete with those?

I think people have an affection with King as he has came through our academy. If we had signed him from another club no way would people be so defendant. In my opinion it's no coincidence we're flying without him in the side.

Tonight showed us -

how important adrenaline is and it had all but disappeared after promotion was achieved.

How celebrating said promotion can affect performance.

How having arguably our 4 fastest players out ofvthe squad affects us even more so when two ofvthem are replaced by two ofvour oldest and slowest players.
