kingfox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I rarely ever moan after matches, but on today's occasion I really have to point out Knockaert's performance and get this off my chest. He has frustrated me so much recently, he can either be unplayable or be absolutely rubbish, and quite frankly I've hardly seen this "unplayable" Knockaert for a while now. Today again, he overplays on the ball, gives silly passes away & tries too hard. There was one point in today's game, where he could of played a simple pass to Drinkwater, but instead he held onto the ball, and ended up giving away possession. Yes he is passionate, but you got to match your passion with performances, and for me he hasn't been doing this recently. I really don't understand why people have voted him as young player of the year, he was far better last season, his only real highlight for me this season, was his goal against Watford, apart from that he has done very little, where on last season's form you could pick out 5 things quite easily which really impressed us. When Mahrez's gets the ball, I feel he can do something, but when Knockaert gets the ball nowadays, I lose confidence. Don't know if some fans have felt the same way recently?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I like Knocky and hes a very decent player when not trying to do too much. mahrez is miles better though and has bettee potential
NewquayFox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Mahrez is going to be a Premier league star, unfortunately if Knockeart puts in many more performances like this he will miss the party, Dyer & James changed the game when they came on....
jonthefox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Form is temporary , class is permanent. Summat like that anyway.
Stadt Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Knocky needs to keep it simple more often, he'd be much more effective if he released the ball earlier.
ScouseFox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 like the rest of the squad, done his job in a long season and got us up. if he wants to try and cartwheel and cruyff turn round 7 men in a pointless and otherwise incredibly boring game then let him.
foxer Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 He was very poor today but he's still going to be an important player for us next year in my opinion. He's so young and his inexperience did show through today but big nige will be having words I am sure!

Dyer who barely touched the ball? Knockaert was wasteful today but he's repeatedly shown his class over the last 2 years.
RowlattsFox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Decision making is shocking at times, needs to be more careful next season because he'll cost us goals by losing the ball in dangerous areas. I do like him but he frustrates most of the time. Need to be convinced whether he'll have a positive effect next season but deserves a chance.
Crinklyfox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 He makes a difference. He'll have some games like today when nothing much works but on other days he'll be great. I understand why NP plays him most matches.
thesilverfox Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I like Mahrez but somebody needs to tell him to stay on his feet a bit more. Went down far too easily today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MattGamble92 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Quite shocked that people are quick to say Mahrez is better. Knockaert is still out best player in my opinion. He does far more defensive work than Mahrez (Mahrez will get better at that though) and I think he's still out most skilful. Mahrez loses possession a hell of a lot too, and had an absolute shocker against Yeovil. Don't get me wrong he's brilliant and I think he's only going to get better but he seems to be being watched through rose tinted spectacles because he's the new lad.
martyn Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Been poor for a month but has shown what he can do over a much longer period than that. Type of player where you have to take the rough with the smooth but he can only improve at his age...

For me though, Mahrez knows when to pass better than knockaert. Mahrez will loose the ball but this doesn't tend to be in dangerous positions. Agree on the work rate though. They both have class but Mahrez gets past players with so much ease.
Bert Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Constantly trying to do much at the minute. Frustrating more than anything.
kristianity77 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Hes still a great player. His performances for me seem to have dipped ever since Mahrez has got a run in the side. Its almost like Knocky doesn't like the fact that someone else has become the golden boy of the moment. This is making him try too hard to please by taking on the world sometimes when he should just play the simple stuff.
wakeyfox01 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Think he struggled with the formation today as King and Drinkwater kept getting into the space he normally operates in
Oxfordfox83 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Knockaert's a young flair player, and we picked him up cheap because he was a work in progress. He still has work to do on consistency, but if everyone plays the percentages you lose his inspirational game changing moments. He has come on leaps and bounds this year to my mind, making a regular positive impact and much more rarely frustrating. Off form when we're up and coasting? Bovvered.
sly1 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Dyer was just that why take knock hart off for him baffled me.dyer never touch the ball what a waste.
Number 6 Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 I think he's a much more complete player than last season. Still an important part of the team for me. He's been covering a lot of space just behind the strikers recently too, switching wings. Might have taken its toll a bit.
Kitchandro Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Yes but he's playing out of position isn't he. You can't expect him to be at his best. Half his problem is he's just too slow. I can't understand why when James & Dyer came on King didn't go off instead of Knocky. I thought King was average and I'm desperate to see Knockaert in the middle for once, a position which undoubtedly plays to his strengths rather than the wing. People wouldn't care so much about him losing the ball if he got the ball more and was able to create things with his guile. Frankly, it's not really fair on him. If Drinkwater was playing out wide I bet people would be giving him stick. I like Knocky and hes a very decent player when not trying to do too much.mahrez is miles better though and has bettee potential They are two different players. Mahrez is a winger, Knockaert isn't.
Guest Posted 19 April 2014 Posted 19 April 2014 Don't get the praise for Dyer. Knocky worked hard. I'd take him 100/100 times over the one trick pony.

He's playing for his Leicester future (in his head at least), which is good to see, but he'll settle again after his opening day brace at OT...
