Knockaert

He can wear his heart on his sleeve all he likes, show the passion that he does, put in the work rate that he does.

But on an overall performance scale, he has been lacking for a while now.

He is overrated by many fans, and I really don't understand the love he gets.

Don't think he will set the Premier League alight next season, I wouldn't even have him in the starting 11.

Do the things he does in the Premier League, then he will cost us possession and more than likely he will cost us goals.

I'm just glad that Nige is in charge and not you. For people to already be judging our players' Premier League quality despite them having not played at that level yet is unbelievable.

Maybe you should sign up for a technical role and tell Nige about the players you've signed on football manager, and your in depth analysis of the Prem from watching Match of the Day each week.

Two seasons ago no one would have said Rickie Lambert or Adam Lallana would have set the Prem alight, yet they're both good shouts for the plane to Brazil. Why can't players like Knockaert do the same?

The team we have at the minute have broke all number of club records and have played some of the best football I've ever seen from a Leicester team. I don't understand this constant criticism of them all.

I think it was the Yeovil game when we were one down - he absolutely carried us. Rest of our team was bang average but Knockeart was everywhere and dragged us up the field.

How very dare you question Knockeart?

he tries to be a winger,AM and get back and do his defensive duties! He needs to just play the am role and stay there!

Similar to what DB11 says, I get the impression everybody is fussing over Mahrez so much that Knockaert just wants to show off a little too much to get the attention back, still love the lad though

This sounds very likely as the reason why Knocky is over-elaborating in his play in recent weeks.  But, if so,  this is down to immaturity.  I have no doubt that NP will sort it over the summer and, with the extra time to bond the players together even more and to coach some simpler and better instincts into Knocky's play, he will come out even better next season.

As some have said previously, comparisons can sometimes be counterproductive.  We should just be very happy that we will start out in the Prem with two such gifted creative players in our ranks.  In the last 60 years I can think of a few such talented players (Davie Gibson, Keith Weller, Muzzy, for example) but never more than one at a time in our squad.

He will have games like yesterday, and I think Pearson has accepted that he will have bad games.

He makes things happen by committing defenders which creates chances for others as well as himself, but then on the flip side he often loses the ball in bad areas (like he almost did in his own box yesterday). However, his work rate and desire is fantastic.

He's a young player who needs to work on his decision making when he's on the ball.

Quit the negativity guys... How bloody exciting is it to have knocky and Riyad in the same side.. In the premier league!!.... Enjoy these special times!!!!

Exactly. Unreal how some people are questioning his ability and performances. Yesterday was not his best game, he hasn't been great since we were promoted, but he has still be better than most players on opposing teams.

Would you rather have him in your team or have him playing against you? Precisely.

He can try too much at times but he is always brave in terms of trying again and not letting it affect him.

I think it's his attitude people are questioning, not his ability. At times yesterday he seemed to be playing for himself first, the team second.

Watch the highlights on the chance that King missed. Knocky is actually trying to out pace King to get to the ball first. If he'd have just taken up a position to support King then as it happened King could have squared in to him for a tap in. As it was he just put himself out of the game by taking up exactly the same position as King. Very naive play.

If he can cut out the selfishness from his game then he'll be a real asset in the Prem.

I think both Knockaert and Mahrez struggle with decision-making, and both give the ball away far, far too often. Been OK this year but we need to keep a tighter ship next season because we'll be playing against half-decent sides that will be capable of punishing us.

Agree with some of the comments made about Mahrez re: his diving. Went down far too many times on Saturday, someone needs to have a word. Also needs to bulk up a bit over the summer - he's not actually very quick, and I worry about him being bullied off the ball next season.

That said we've got two very promising young players who I'm sure will improve in time. The only question for me is whether both of them are first-team players in the PL. An area where NP may want to invest over this summer methinks...

I hink Knockaert has had his nose put out of joint now he realises he isnt the special one anymore as Rihad is a better player.  Knockaert just likes the limelight too much, I wouldnt be surprised is he isnt a regular starter next season and we get someone else

He'll have to change in the premier league if he doesn't he won't be getting a start, I lost count on sat how many times he got caught in possession being cocky.

Typical Leicester fans this thread is - just desperate to find the negativity.

I can't see any negatives with Knockeart - he wears his heart on his sleeve, loves playing for us, covers every blade of grass every game, he's skillful, he can take free kicks, he's imporved hugely defensively and he's still so young! He'll only get better and has the right manager to get the best out of him.

Got to agree with the above. Having watched the tripe we've had on the wings at times in the last 10 years, it baffles me how people can moan.

I agree. Let's face it, he's been a breath of fresh air since he joined us.

Lets enjoy the moment.

AK is an excellent player- try to recall some of the excitement he engendered when he first came  in to the side last season- outrageous skills born of confidence and absolutely no fear of failure don't lets start on him

Bang on

I find this negative attitude a lot of us seem to have towards our own players completely bizarre. Yes there's a time for criticism but 3 games away from wrapping up a record breaking season surely isn't it? I'm really enjoying supporting Leicester at the moment, I have total faith in the manager and all the playing staff and it's been a very long time since I last felt like that. :scarf:

Completely Agree - great player, however have to think his lack of place will mean he will better suited in the role behind the striker when we get to the prem.

Stringer just posted this on his Twitter.

87 - Amount of ‘key passes’ (leading to shot on goal) @Aknockaert has this season. Only Ross McCormack (97) has more in the league

lol, well that pissed on alot of peoples bonfires!

Think a lot of people are taking to much notice of Alan young regarding Knockaert.

He slates him at every chance because he was made to look silly saying he shouldn't play away from home.

Still young lad and is improving, will do fine

Wouldn't be surprised if we only play either Knockaert or Mahrez next season with someone more defensively minded on the other flank, especially against the bigger clubs.

So what?

His overall performance has been lacking, he does certain things well, and he does certain things badly.

It's been evident in past months, that he hasn't been at his best.

He was far better last season in my opinion, Mahrez has stolen his thunder since he joined.

He is a frustrating player to watch, tries too hard, tries to take on players, when a simple pass would be much easier, it can be very annoying.

His performance against QPR was disgusting, so that's why I posted this thread.

I like him in some aspects, I find him very overrated in others, if that's controversial statements from me again, then so be it, my opinion is my opinion.
