MrSpaM Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Listening back to the forum from last night NP says that some players are higher maintenance than others (not that this should spark rumours before anyone goes off on that tangent) and maybe Danny is one of them and that's what he's alluding to. Not that he's a diva or anything but people are different and require different skills to manage them. What I got from that was Danny doesn't like being dropped and throws his toys out the pram when it happens.

It's how you manage them and Nigel seems to have done a stellar job doing so, given that the performanes on the pitch have remained at a high level throughout the season.

I hope so because I thought what he said was quite harsh (although Pearson is in a better position to talk about Danny by actually knowing him). The guy just won fan's player of the year and Pearson talked to him as if he didn't deserve it making many backhanded compliments.

I think it alludes to something else he said - Danny is the worst person for realising there other people that can play in his position (something along the lines of that, may not be word for word). But sometimes that's a good thing because it makes him a better player which in turn alludes to his 'different goals'. Maybe I'm reading too much in to it .
