theoldbluefox Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 i think he will make a massive impact next season for us , we have been pretty flat without him in the team . he will force mistakes from other teams next season with his pace .
Monsell1976 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Hard one to call, took him a season to adapt to the step up to the championship, make take the same again, he is a real pain in the arse for defenders, but at times lacks that quality finish, either way good squad player to have around.
jonthefox Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Nice what else do you think will happen? The club will issue banning orders to all opposing teams for going on the pitch.
AKCJ Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Nice what else do you think will happen? I can't handle you sometimes
Dan Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Vardy still isn't a clinical finisher for me. He's definitely improved his finishing but he's going to get less chances in the Premier League. However his energy will cause problems for literally any defender in the league. He's going to play a big part IMO. You can see how much poorer a side we look when he doesn't play. We're clearly missing something when he isn't there. I just hope he doesn't lose confidence because the chances are he'll go on a bad run at one stage.
Deucalion Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 I think he'll do alright. I think the bigger jump was non-league to Championship rather than Championship to PL. He does need too many chances to score, which will hinder him in the PL. But...all of our strikers this year are guilty of needing too many chances to make me that confident of them in the PL, but Vardy did show persistence, workrate, pace, good control and on occasion the precision finishing needed to take a chance when it comes in the PL. For me, he's the best striker at the club.
Alex_LCFC Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 If we can all see that he's not a great finisher (even tho all his goals have been from open play) than surely pre season nige and his staff will spend hours and hours in trying to make his finishing Better. I think vardy will play a huge roll for us next season
Ric Flair Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Currently he's the most integral player in our side if we play the type of football we have done this season. Without him we've struggled for goals but when he's been on form we've taken teams apart. I think he's a completely different beast these days and will perform in the PL as well, he doesn't necessarily need to be clinical, he'll still create chances and win us games and I think he's still improving. If he can go from having a first touch that was like fingering an eel to trapping the ball dead from all angles, then i've no doubt he can fine tune his finishing too.

I think vardy will play a huge roll for us next season Or find a pacey striker of better quality, not slating vardy the kid has been great, but Nigel will need strikers who will convert the limited chances.Again vardy will have his part to play next season, but the role may be a smaller one than this season IMO, but as stated earlier, hard one to call, he may set the premier league alight.
Bryn Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Needs to up his chance conversion ratio, we can't afford a striker who doesn't take the chances we get. That said, he's got an awful lot of quality. Rapid, two footed, bags of energy, great first touch. He could go either way, really.
lgfualol Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Definitely. I bet this is a dream come true for him. Like Dan said, his finishing needs work. Apart from that he'll annoy a lot players and get more free kicks and penalties. I honestly can't see him going back to Championship level.
lcfcjw16 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 I think we will put a few goals past liverpool because their defence is awful under pressure, so vardy running and sliding at them, they will make some bad mistakes allowing us to score
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 I think it all depends on whether deep down Jamie Vardy believes he can play in The Premiership. I'm not sure he truly believes that he can so I think it'll be really important for him to get off to a good start. As others have said, he's not the best finisher so he'll have to work on that and he'll probably need to be our secondary striker in terms of goals by some distance because I'm not convinced we can rely on him to score the majority of our goals. That said, he's integral to the way we play and really sets the tone so hopefully he can play a major role in hustling defenders into giving us opportunities that we might not otherwise get.
crisp packet Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Pace! Big key hear? He has pace to burn.... Has looked a different player since QPR away? With D.D been our two stand out players by far(2014) without injuries he would have scored 20. We would have broke readings record also ??? Will make the step up I have no qualms!!!

Didn't he mention in an interview at one point Pearson getting behind him and telling him he's good enough and that has helped step up this season?
ScouseFox Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 This right here. Didn't he mention in an interview at one point Pearson getting behind him and telling him he's good enough and that has helped step up this season? sort of. he never really said he didn't think he was good enough, just that he had a tough time last season, things weren't going his way etc and nige an the team had faith in him.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Will wager alot of money on him getting sent off at some point next season, somehow avoided a red this despite some tasty challenges, and refs are softer in the prem.
Donut Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Finishing requires work, but pace, energy, unpredictability and desire will make him a handful. All round play Tevez like if he could improve his finishing
