WhispyWizard Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 So Wes Morgan can move from Forest to Leicester, but Dyer isn't allowed to move the other way. I love Lloyd, but it's what's best for him. Football is football, shit happens.

cuddly ken Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Is this the same Nugent that everyone was saying wasn't good enough only a few months back?
dmayne7 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Oh dear - when will this eternal belief that acing a crap division makes you Premier League class end - Lloyd is the brightest of the bunch - he is a good player at this level and can get himself regular football next year off the back of a successful season this year = intelligence. Nugent signing for us = good deal for him but woeful for us - if he gets 5 open play goals in the Prem it will be akin to a miracle - should sign for Bolton while he has the chance Yay! You're back And you brought a fresh batch of positivity with you
MalarkyR Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Lad lads lads. Lloydy was on fire in the first half of this very season. He was one of the key guys along with Vards and Drinky at the time, and the only reason he stopped being key was his injury. He's not going to have gone off like an old banana by the time we start next season, he'll still have something close to that level to give. We don't have the luxury of replacing every player who 'isn't premier league standard' straight away. We need a squad full of players who are committed to the club, who love the club, interspersed with a few 'flair' players, to keep us up next year. Lloydy is arguably in the former camp. If he decides to leave us instead of taking the rumoured 1 year contract, then he's welcome to go. It would mean he's putting his needs just a little ahead of the needs of the club, and in that scenario it's best for both parties that he's off. It doesn't make him judas, and it doesn't take away from all the blood, sweat and tears he's shed in a Leicester shirt. If he changes his mind and stays, then good on him, and in my opinion it'd be good for us. Plus he's my mum's favourite player.
StanSP Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Is this the same Nugent that everyone was saying wasn't good enough only a few months back? Everyone??
kingfox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Er, no one is stopping him, we'd just rather he went somewhere else (as I'm sure we'd all like to wish him well for the future). Forest probably felt the same about Wes. I would love it he a new contract was sorted out, but it's unlikely at the minute, he could end up anyway, but if he ends up Forest so be it, at least he won't be playing or scoring against us next season, unless we get them in the cup.
Kitchandro Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 :knock: :nuge: :lloydy: :drinky: haha I love these guys
shade Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 :knock: :nuge: :lloydy: :drinky: haha I love these guys I suddenly realised I had just been sitting there for 5 minutes watching them, mesmerised!
davieG Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 David Nugent: Leicester City offer new deal to striker David Nugent has been offered a new three-year contract by Championship champions Leicester City, BBC Radio Leicester reports. The 29-year-old scored 20 goals in 44 league starts and appeared in every Championship fixture as the Foxes dominated the division. Nugent's deal runs out this summer, but he has stated his desire to stay. Former England international Nugent previously played in the Premier League with Portsmouth and on loan at Burnley.

I'd be surprised if he manages 5 goals from open play next season. He's been off form for months and won't be playing Ipswich.

ousefox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Surprised we're prepared to offer Nugent 3 instead of 2, yet we won't give Lloyd 2.
Matt Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Crazy.. I'd be surprised if he manages 5 goals from open play next season. He's been off form for months and won't be playing Ipswich. We might in a cup.... Cup goals don't count do they?!
Bert Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Surprised we're prepared to offer Nugent 3 instead of 2, yet we won't give Lloyd 2.The difference being Nuge will be Lloyd's current age when this new deal expires...
ousefox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 The difference being Nuge will be Lloyd's current age when this new deal expires... Nuge's would expire at 32 on a three year deal Dyer would be 33 on a two year deal I see them having a similar amount of game time next season if they both stayed too. Tbf it does all depend on when Dyer loses his pace.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Dyer would be a quality squad player. Cmon Lloyd take the contract.
iamafox Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 If Dyer leaves after his contract expires then we can't choose what club he'll go to next, that will be up to him. He may very well end up at Forest if speculation is true.
Simonb Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Seriously think nuge will be playing a lot more than dyer next year... intelligent player.. wasnt good in.prem last time but remember how poor vardy was last year nuge will be vital next season give him a chance hes earnt a three year contract.. plus realistically it means if after one or two years we want rid we can recoup a small fee for him rather than nothing
wight88 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Dyer would struggle to make any kind of impact against premiership sides next season with the exception of West Brom, Sunderland, Hull, Swansea, Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, Palace, Burnley, Southampton, Stoke and Derby/QPR/Wigan/Brighton. Liability. Get rid.
Merging Cultures Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Dyer would struggle to make any kind of impact against premiership sides next season with the exception of West Brom, Sunderland, Hull, Swansea, Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, Palace, Burnley, Southampton, Stoke and Derby/QPR/Wigan/Brighton. Liability. Get rid. Great post. A one year premier league contract seems fair, with him coming on as impact sub. He won't start, he could struggle against the bigger teams, but he could terrorise a tired defender in the smaller clubs. Weird to see some of our 'fans' being so hateful to Dyer or Nuge. They have performed this season, we are Champions, we should trust Pearson and respect the work the players have done. I assume we all expect a few quality signings and a number of the current players to act in more of a squad system this coming season. But no need to be so harsh on players that have got the job done this time round.
The Doctor Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Do you honestly think Dyer is Premiership standard - honestly? He's come up against Zabaleta, a top right back, twice and had his pants down twice. Yes.
Fox Ulike Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Dyer would struggle to make any kind of impact against premiership sides next season with the exception of West Brom, Sunderland, Hull, Swansea, Villa, West Ham, Newcastle, Palace, Burnley, Southampton, Stoke and Derby/QPR/Wigan/Brighton. Liability. Get rid. Cock on. All he's got is pace, energy, commitment, dedication to LCFC, goals, work ethic, team ethic, assists, defensive ability and a willingness to fight for his place when dropped. The other problem with Dyer is that he's not a pin-up French boy. Liability. Get rid.
Fox Ulike Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Is this the same Nugent that everyone was saying wasn't good enough only a few months back? If you read this forum long enough you'd come to the conclusion that none of our players was good enough for the Prem and all should be sold to League One clubs. Jermaine Beckford has played in the Premiership. If he can do it, I can do it.
