He said in a press conference recently that what we want is to go out, play our football, and if we lose we need to make sure it's a case of the other team playing at their best. Anti-football from 2010? I see why you say that. I personally am not a fan of Saadane, but I wouldn't call it anti-football, despite what is reported in the media. In the Slovenia match, it was horrendous, both teams were poor, but we were the better team. Only that howler from our keeper gave them the win. England match was horrendous too. Sometimes I hear from England fans that Algeria played 10 men behind the ball and stopped England from playing. I personally don't buy it at all. It was a case of neither team being good enough to create chances or score. USA match was actually the only match I felt we deserved to lose, and ironically, it was also the match we created the most chances in. We hit the bar early on, and their goal came from a counter attack after we had a good chance. Anti-football? I'd personally call it toothless. We didn't have the quality up front to hurt teams. And that's whats promising about the 2014 edition. Our best players are our attacking players and that gives us a chance.

When he left Portsmouth, he had offers from Lazio, and other teams in Europe, but obviously money is a major pull nowadays. Pity, because he was a very good attacking left back (defensively suspect at times). Not sure we miss him though, Ghoulam is just as good going forward and more solid defensively.

Good news for Mahrez is that the guy we normally play as a LW, Soudani, is being tried out as a striker again (which is the position he played at when he came on in the Armenia match). That reduces the competition that Mahrez has in the LW position for the World Cup.
