How long have they been building that eyesore?

We started knocking down the old stand a few games into the season. The good results from last season brought a larger (albeit fairweather) crowd, so the Pozzos began to rebuild it. It's being built in two halves; if they did it all at once they'd have to knock down all the changing rooms as well, so it's done in two stages.

I remember they were knocking down the old stand when we famously beat them last November but with a capacity of what looks like 2500 it has taken a long time to build it - indicative of the length of time it will take them to build a side capable of football in the Premiership perhaps :dunno:

Perhaps with hindsight the Pozzos should have taken note on how long the average Watford fan sits in the stand before investing in further accomodation. I went there in May of last year and a large section of home supporters were on the pitch prior to the final whistle which indicated to me a degree of local restlessness. This was further confirmed last November when the majority of local support had left the ground after 70 odd minutes. Strange supporters but I guess it takes all sorts.

Yes, my wife was disgusted with the behaviour of some fellow hornets, A steward I spoke to said we were the worst supporters so far (not normally the case) I think she might go shopping next season!!

Anyway good luck for next season I like Leicester, fans, manager. You have an excellent set up ready for the prem. Always a good away trip.

He is an atrocious crosser

He gets away with that because of his positioning though. He gets himself into positions where you don't require an excellent ball.

Ideally we'll be using him as general winger rather than a wing-back. I think too many people have figured out how to play against a 3-5-2 and the problem with having too many attack-focused wing-backs is that they can't really track-back during opposition counter-attacks.

I think Lloyd would be better off taking a year deal at Leicester, obviously with premiership wages, than 3 years with a club like Watford. He'll probably earn about the same and play in the best league in the world. If Watford went up next season , they'd sell him anyway so he'd be no better off. He's banking on them staying down to prolong his career.

Is this a done deal yet?

Nothing official...just reported in the local papers.

Won't be on more money I suspect so must have gone for the extra security of a longer contract or didn't think he would play in the Premier league that much...

I think that Steve S guy is looking for a bite?

:P

Its not totally certain Sannino is staying for next season so who knows what the formation will be - something which improves the defending and gets us less bookings might help (doubt Dyer picks up too many?)

Regarding the new east stand - not perfect but certainly better than nothing - just hope we can play some football to ensure it gets filled.
