Fraizer Campbell

Not sure why but it seems that some people still only measure the ambition of our club on how much we pay in transfer fees.

It really is cringeworthy. Just amazes me how little people learn when football's involved.

Imagine being a slow defender with Vardy and Campbell closing you down all the time.

Sounds a hell of a lot like Vardy based on some of the descriptions. Didn't realise his work rate was supposedly so high.

Why is everyone insistent on that Nugent is leaving

Baffling isn't it. Either that or they just want him replaced in the starting XI which is nearly as baffling. Made me chuckle earlier in this thread how one poster mentioned he wanted higher wages than Kasper with no source and everyone went up in arms.

Took some stick off a Liverpool supporting mate for telling him this chap was having talks with us...in fact he's ribbed me about all of our signings so far! Which will make it even sweeter when Upson heads a high ball over to Albrighton, who takes it past 6 men, keggs Stevie G on his way past and sh*ts on a photo of Bill Shankly before slotting a nice through ball in to Campbell (hopefully, if he signs) who slots it past their keeper and it turns out to be the winner!

I don't think we've done badly in the transfer market so far, bit of experience, bit of youth...it's only June!

It makes me laugh when Liverpool fans mock our signings. It's like us mocking Barnsley.

There's something very odd about Liverpool fans, I can't quite put my finger on it. It's not like they're deluded, and I won't have all this "they cling on to their history" crap because well 1) the majority of them don't and 2) let's be fair if we had even a speck of the same history as they do we'd never shut up about it.

It's almost like this permanent sense of unflappable pride, as if Liverpool can do no wrong, no signing is ever a bad signing and no performance is ever a bad one. They do love to go on the wind up though (as I've found out). Often try to have conversations with this particular mate about Leicester but it always goes back to Liverpool in the end, they don't like talking about anything else other than Liverpool! I don't know weather it's arrogance or pride really, I quite like how they mock us though, because no fan of any other football club truly know how good we actually have been this season...I think some people might be surprised.

If your Liverpool supporting mate knew anything about Liverpool he would know Bill Shankly's views on Leicester City, one of the most glowing tributes to our club

The way I see it, is that he is not a replacement for anyone. He will be signed to fill out the squad and add some more quality up front.

I'd like to see Campbell here. His goal-scoring record isn't amazing but last season must have been his best so far in the Prem. I know he got called up for England while at Sunderland but I think he only scored about 6 goals in nearly 60 appearances (correct me if I'm wrong).

Last season was his breakthrough season, I feel. He was Cardiff's main man (up front), and he seemed to relish it. His work-rate and confidence looked high to me, despite a few misses and playing for a team that looked like they were aiming for Championship football next season.

His experience of Premier League football could be invaluable. Slotting into a team that is as high on confidence as ours after trouncing the Championship (and without the behind-the-scenes upheaval at Cardiff) could mean next season is even better for him (and us).

I hope Campbell signs and Nuge stays. Nuge showed last year that he can adapt well to playing between Vardy and the midfield role with numerous assists. I see Campbell and Vardy sharing the workload upfront, rather than playing together. In Campbell, Pearson will be aware that he can play at this level, whilst Vardy may struggle (hopefully he won't, but the step up may take a while for him to adjust) So all that is required is a striker that can be strong in the air and a bit physical. Unfortunately I can see Wood being surplus to requirements, although I'd prefer him to go out on loan, rather than be sold.

This would be a great signing in my eyes because of the following reasons. 1) it's a steal, bargain price tag. 2) Gives us more of a budget to spend on a quality target man. 3) He's the exact sort of player you need if your chasing a game or trying to close a game down. Finally he has prem experience so would be good to have in the changing room.

I agree with the above, good post

Campbell is like a box of eggs, there's 101 different things you can do to bring the best out them but picking the right one is the art..

Jamie Vardy....

Need I say more?

Former Foxes striker Alan Young is going to have a field day with this fella. If you're reading Alan, it's Fray-zer not Fray-zee-ur. The i is before the z like.

Got to laugh at the people slating Nigels transfers so far. Albrighton, Hamer, Upson and Campbell if he signs are all squad players to replace the squad players that have left. A combined total of £800k for four squad players who all have prem experience (except Hamer) seems like good business to me. We will sign more exciting players between now and the end of August but to start with these are decent signings. I'm guessing the people who are slating these deals all creamed themselves when we shelved out shit loads of money on Beckford and Mills and look how that turned out!

Pearson's proved people wrong since he first joined the club. He went into possibly our most important season (in the third tier) with youngsters from Liverpool, Man United, Arsenal, signed a kid from Cambridge, an MK Dons winger, trusted a striker who'd scored six goals in two seasons to lead the line and allow a teenager from the Academy to run the midfield. He delivered a title.

He could've got rid of Vardy, Drinkwater et al after last season, he kept them on and they proved to be massive players. He signed ageing players to fill the squad. He trusted kids from the French second division. He won the league with over 100 points.

The man has delivered two divisional titles and two play-offs in four seasons, spending money very wisely and having a fantastic scouting system. If there's one thing you can't doubt Pearson on it is signing players and giving us value.

What about the lad playing for Honduras, Costly? Mind you, he won't be cheap...

I'll get me coat.

I dated a girl who went out with Frazier Campbell. Also went to school with Danny Drinkwater, apparently he was a nob.
