lol lol lol yeah cos we are Real / Barca.

Right at this minute 17 sides in the prem are a better prospect than us.

Till we have managed 1 or 2 seasons players will view us with caution.

When I said Nigel will not buy players who do not demonstrate a desire to play for Leicester and who tout themselves around other clubs to seek a better deal, I was only repeating what Pearson actually said on BBC radio Leicester a few weeks ago, you chump!

( Of course, he could have been lying I suppose. Maybe he will end up begging players and offering more and more until they do sign )

You're being far too literal.

Clearly nobody expects a player not to properly weigh up his options. Weighing those up and then signing for City does show a player wants to pay for us surely?

I'm not being too literal, I am just repeating what he said. If a player is in it for the money he's not interested.

In one way I am glad he does.

But would that not mean we will struggle to get some real quality in.

And even if it was a bidding war don't mean the player does not want to join us just his club are not happy with the fee.

Or him trying to get the highest wage he can.

We didn't struggle to bring in quality in the championship, we tried to buy our way out and failed as the names turned out to not be up to it.

It's not all about money,  it's the easy route to take chucking shit loads of case around to get the perceived better players. But as we showed under O'Neill and under Pearson, with the right recruitment and a big emphasis on the person and not just how they play, you can make it work.

Like I say, that's not the easy route though. You might miss out on a quite a few targets, but in the end you might en up with someone not just interested in what they earn, with some quality and the sort of mentality that can go a long way.

But it still brings me to the point 17 teams will look a better option than the three that came up.

Yes they might do, but I'm not sure it has much to do with the point he was making.

Typical FoxesTalk... big up a potential signing simply because he might be signing. Beckford and Mills were two great examples of this.

Look at Campbell's record of goals-scored in the Premiership. Its poor surely? And someone earlier said that he's been hit by lots of injuries! Great. ..well that's reassuring.

Nigel Pearson is a good motivator and he may be able to get the best out of Campbell. But a striker is (usually) only as good as their record. Campbell's, in the Prem, is poor.

The record of Jelavic in the premier league isn't the greatest, but you constantly point to him as the sort of player would should be signing. 7 goals and 4 goals for him at Everton and Hull in the last two seasons. Campbell got 6 in a team that was obviously doing worse than either of them.

A fully fit season and he did ok for them, for 800k that's a pretty good deal if we can get him. When you consider what Jelavic would command in fees and wages.

I just don't know what people expect these days.

We are a newly promoted team after 10 years in the abyss. We might have the money but we're a much better managed club than we've probably ever been. Pearson will make the right signjngs for the club, he's the manager who has got us where we are. Let's leave our trust in him.

You do realize a top-notch goalscorer could cost anything in between £5m and £50m. No way the club's going to splash out the cash in such fashion this summer.

Well if you can't spend in your first summer back in the PL when can you?

I'm not expecting a £50m striker but I'd like to see at least a couple of £5m signings before the kick off.

Football is like most things life, you get what you pay for.

Mills and Akinbye would fit right in.

I don't know why people are so focused on what we spend, it doesn't matter, what matters is whether the player is good enough.

Well done, but have all the top clubs stopped spending big money on good players because of Torres?

obviously not. Im just saying ur statement isnt entirely accurate.

Add the guy the Cardiff paid £8million for that we were going to pay 400k.

Once you've established yourself in the league and start to look at building upon the base you have in place? We're generally a raw and unproven squad in the PL, however we have a team that has been built in such a fashion that going up and spending big money on players goes against what we've been working towards. I'm not saying Pearson won't spend big money in the future, but for the time being we have a young and exciting squad who, with a few additions, should be capable of holding their own against many of the teams in this league. The aim is to survive, we really can't look past that this season, anything else is an added bonus. I can understand why many would see this as resigning ourselves to the fact that we could be in a relegation scrap all your, but surely the better way to look at it is, that the management and coaching team are putting their trust in a young and exciting squad who are only going to get better.

I think this is related to 2 things.  Players in the 10 mil plus range may not want to come here?  Possible.  Just because we want them doesn't mean they or their managers will support a move to us.  Think Loic Remy to QPR, how did that work for him or them.

I am sure we could pay large amounts at huge wages for players, but that also brings problems, including culture of the club and player contentment in the current squad.

I do think if we are all patient we will see high profile signings, but that shouldn't stop up accumulating talent for the squad we will need for the coming season.

Campbell, if we do sign him will be a good acquisition.

So many people are being unrealistic here. We're a newly promoted side. If he scored 10 goals next season, £800k would be an absolute bargain.

Rather we did not piss it up the wall again as that's not the right way to go we have proven that.

However I do think if NP spent 10mil on one player we would be getting a 10m player.

But as I said not the cash for me. I think so far we have done good business to strengthen the squad.

Would just like to see a couple of quality  first teamers bought in proven players with 5 or 6 years left in them.

Instead of young or old players as we need to hit the ground running.

I do think Upson will be good for us but would rather a player with a long term future.

We do seem to be getting in stop gap players.

So you have to try and belittle someone.

Living in Norfolk we do not get much radio Leicester so forgive me for not knowing this.

Stop being frightened by what happened in the past under a different manager.

Time to move on, we have owners who are happy to support the manger, I'm reasonably happy with the signings so far but I'm still hoping for 4 or so classy players with pace, experience and a few years left in the game.

Thing is, I'm all with you - but those signings don't necessarily have to be expensive ones.

Bertie, this is a football forum is it not?

Of course we leave our trust in Pearson (in the first place, we have to.. he's the boss)

But surely we can discuss the pros and cons of players, tactics, formations, signings etc etc etc.

Or are you saying no we can't?

In your terms it would be 'Trust Pearson. . Close forum'..or words to that effect.
