As much as I trust Nige he really does make the most under whelming signings.

The question we should be asking is if we think these players will work well together - It's not easy to judge but things like attitude, style of play, personality and how they might fit into our game plan are the things to look at.

The 11/12 season compared with the 12/13 season showed me that it's the team as a whole that we should be looking at, rather than how good we think the individual players we've signed are.

That's because he has already bought half a team of wannabe kids for peanuts and turned them into £5m players.

Drinkwater, James, Knockaert and Mahrez would cost about £20m total if we had to buy them now.

I'd expect Kasper's release clause would be around £8 million - I can't see many clubs spending that sort of money on him.

if kasper has a 'relegation' release clause, it will be a lot less than that figure. he may have a standard release trigger clause written into his contract at that high level. similarly, campbell is only cheap because cardiff have been relegated. at 800k, he's a snip. might be tough to offload outside of the prem if it doesn't work out due to his wages but a decent punt at that price, given that he has a PL scoring record.

This would be a great addition to the team. Ex united, great attitude and with Kevin Phillips coaching him I can see him improving, maybe that's on our side!

Him and Vardy upfront would tare teams apart for pace and defenders would be very worried!

I'll be very impressed if this comes trough. He scored 9 goals in a shit team creating not many chances.

Checked his rating and he averaged 1.6 shots per game. So his shot per goal ratio is pretty good!

We will create a lot more chances than that for him if he comes here!

On our books now I personally think he would be the best of the bunch, people saying it's a side step from Nugent are off their heads!

Yeah, probably a bit high tbf, but my point stands that the idea is to get more than the player's worth, to compensate for not actually wanting to sell the player. If he was wanted by Inter, Man U etc. we maybe increased the clause in the contract he just signed?

Great price but pointless if Nugent stays. Would personally rather have Campbell.

This sums it up for me.

We'd still need someone with more quality imo.

That's the point in the club inserting one, which we wouldn't have wanted to do.

When the player wants one, which i would be amazed Kasper didn't, the point is to make sure you are released for as little as possible.

Anyone thinking the clause is any more than a couple of million at most are missing this completely.

Kasper had all the power, not us.

That got us 102 points?

Yes thats right we got 102 points next time you want to ask a question Google works well just encase I'm not online to help

True he had the power, but realistically would expect it to be around 8 mil, it's not like they'd formally approached us for him, it was rumours. I had picked numbers out of the air in the first post, it wasn't the point of my post, but it's not going to be 2 mil, he's worth 4 at least. His relegation release clause may be 2 mil, but he's playing in the prem, and if next year he's playing in the prem, then why would he go to utd to be benchwarming for de gea, who's going to be the first choice keeper at utd for a long time to come?

Really not sure what you are trying to say.

IF they had a release clause inserted they gain nothing from it being a large fee. The whole point of one for the player is to pretty much guarantee a sale in case of relegation.

Glad someone here is still sane

I'm saying that Kasper benefits from playing for us next year if we're in the prem still, rather than somewhere bigger (eg utd). Also, players in clubs that realistically will never be relegated have release clauses twice as much as they are worth. I think we're talking about two different things, so apologies for the misunderstanding on my part

I assume Campbell had a low release clause inserted into his contract so that he could remain in the Premier League, or could move on if Cardiff weren't promoted. I assume if we sign him he'll want a similar one. I've no problem with that.

I think in Spain players are legally required to have a release clause in their contacts which is why they are often high. Don't think this is the case in the UK. I expect few of our players have release clauses.

Would you prefer us to be like QPR?

I know it's a question but I can't find the answer on google sorry.

It's becoming more common and will so even more now because of FFP. Clubs will be demanding wage cuts in case of relegation in contracts, the trade off with that is players only signing up if they have clauses allowing them a fairly easy exit.

Yes I love everything about them

This may spell the end for Nugent, I've heard he doesn't want just a pay rise he's looking for more money than Kasper.

I don't want Nuge to go but he has to be realistic.

Can't blame him for trying if that's the case but I can't see the boss agreeing. Nugent's a valuable player who compliments Vardy but surely replaceable if necessary - and at a reasonable price. Yes. he has qualities but there's limitations too which mean he'd do well to get a better option than Leicester especially given their current level of ambition and where it might take them. I'm feel sure Pearson will have his plans whichever way it goes.

If we won't pay him more than Kasper, Burnley ****ing won't.

He'll sign. Noone will offer him more than we will.

Exactly. He's a lucky man to be on the wage he's on now, to ask for more money is unacceptable really. Yes, he's been our top scorer...but lets not go overboard, he's replaceable.

If only we could find a top class ex England striker WITH Years Of Premier League Experience to train Fraizier campbell.. Who Could Become the Whole Package If we could manage that...

Nuge should be grateful for a couple years extension on his current contract terms if he's genuinely asking for £40,000 a week plus I'd let him go
