Bluefan19 Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Im watching the game between the Madrid clubs and wondering will we ever play at this level? And how long will it take to get there.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Im watching the game between the Madrid clubs and wondering will we ever play at this level? And how long will it take to get there. It took Man City a billion and they still aren't quite there
Carl the Llama Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 We'll need to stay top of the market for a long time to pull that one off.
leicesterseddon Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Im watching the game between the Madrid clubs and wondering will we ever play at this level? And how long will it take to get there. No. Get a grip of yourself man.
lgfualol Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 We could compete with madrid now Get hammond as CDM and vardy's pace
ScouseFox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 remember when lloyd dyer scored against madrid and now we want rid. bad times.
dmayne7 Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 No. Get a grip of yourself man. Unlikely but why not? Surely you've got to dream and feel that its possible otherwise you'll just reach a point where you feel we can achieve no more so there'll be no point in supporting us. Live to dream...

Indeed, it is very unlikely to happen even within the next 10 years. But Leicestershire is big enough and doesn't have any decent surrounding clubs to pull in big support if we were regulars in the prem... I reckon we could easily get over 40,000. So the potential is there to certainly establish ourselfs in the top half of the prem and possibly europe. Who knows maybe one day..
john ridley Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Anyone remember Ian marshalls goal , seems along time ago now , but it shows how far Ath Madrid have come in that time .Not saying we'll get to a champions league final but a regular top 10 premier league time isn't out of the question . Bluefan19 Posted 24 May 2014 Author Posted 24 May 2014 I agree. One should dream. Anything is possible.
the_enlightened_one Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 It pains me to say it, but I don't think it will ever happen. It wouldn't have been impossible 20 odd years ago but football has changed. Unless we build a 60,000 seater and fill it week in week out and have owners willing to invest billions, it won't happen. Or we could just leave Pearson in charge for another 20 years and see what happens, stability is priceless. Best we can hope for is Europa League in my opinion. I'm watching the game too by the way, can't believe we were playing Atletico Madrid not so long ago. Real Madrid have been different class tonight in my opinion.
Dan Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Not unless we're bankrolled by a tycoon, and I mean a mega money tycoon. That said it will only get you so far, seeing as football is now a sea of tycoons. However, dare to dream. I refuse to ever believe we can't play in Europe and can't win either of the two domestic cups, and that's under these owners. The sad thing is if we were to over-achieve for a year we'd just have our team picked apart by the vultures. Look at what's about to happen to Southampton.
DennisNedry Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 I think it's safe to say that Leicester City FC will never ever be in a Champions League final.
LAprice_ Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Atletico needed Dyer's pace. He knows how to score past Casillas
ealingfox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Ironic that so many people are saying we couldn't get there without spending billions, when one of this season's finalists don't have a pot to piss in.
sylofox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Yes would be great. But personally I just want to see us compete at home first. survival in the prem. Then the league cup. Followed by the FA cup Then lets worry about the fantasy league. And personally I'd take an FA cup win over 4th in the league.
sylofox Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Ironic that so many people are saying we couldn't get there without spending billions, when one of this season's finalists don't have a pot to piss in. Two club league to qualify we have 6 clubs. Taking nothing away from A madrid getting to the final. But for us to qualify would be the same achievment.
Aus Fox Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 Athletico have wen fighting relegation battles recently in Spain, they have turned around without the financial backing we have now. It is very unlikely we will ever be there but that why we watch the game week in week out. At the minute we have a good mix of youth and experience a good manager and play football the right way, we have a platform to build on the aim next season is 17th position, the following season move towards mid table and a cup run then continue to build.
johnny the fox Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 The match needed the class of a jake buxton..it was second rate...
PerfumePonce Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 Might have a chance to get Bale when he's 40 before he hangs up his boots. Help us achieve promotion from the Championship for the 20th time since 2014.Ronaldo will be managing an over achieving Huddesfield side, whilst Xabi Alonso's Ipswich Town is relegated into League One.
