Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 I'd be gutted if he left, for me I feel he's one of the big reasons for the unity throughout the squad. I've no real evidence of this, but judging his attitude on the pitch, and photos at training etc the lad has mischief about him and style that people enjoy having around. He must influence the squad in a positive way, and the continuity of having him around next term will be beneficial in my view. That's not saying anything about him as a player, but I rate him there as well & certain he has earned his chance.
foxfanazer Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Only Leicester fans can turn their back on their top scorer and goal assists from their impressive promotion campaign. And before anyone says it, most were penalties blah blah blah. Hope he continues to prove you wrong although you probably wouldn't like to admit it if he did. Time to get behind the players because it's not going to be all rosey like last season
yorkie1999 Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 We went up playing direct football with pace. Nugent , Dyer and Vardy gave us that pace and a winning formula, why change a winning formula. If it doesn't work out next season, change it round in January but for fvcks sake give these lads a chance.
Bert Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Amazing how people are stating that he's not good enough for the prem as though it's somehow a fact - without having seen him play in it. The fact is none of us have a clue until he's played at least 10-15 games in the prem. These are largely the same people that said he wasn't good enough for us this season
VLC86 Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Rosebank road backs onto shetland way i think the guy must live near bassett avenue ... Nuge and schlupp both have a house down on willerby road What did he have for dinner last night? Anything interesting in his dustbin?
Hack Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 These are largely the same people that said he wasn't good enough for us this season And probably the same people who wanted NP gone!! great judges of footballing talent
foxfanazer Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 And probably the same people who wanted NP gone!! great judges of footballing talent It does always seem to be the same names
sylofox Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 And probably the same people who wanted NP gone!! great judges of footballing talent And the same people slating DD and Vardy in the boro thread. You would think after looking so stupid last season and back tracking they would learn. One of the problems with forums no one knows who anyone really is so you get loads of dicks. This place could be war torn carnage after 3 games

I thought the idea of fans was not blindly support your team but the same names consistently bag anything the team, manager and owners do. I just don't get it.
65RosesFox Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Saw him today coming out of countesthorpe chippy looked reallly glum tbh... I saw him in Fosse park Sainsburys on Monday with his missus and daughter. I was actually really tempted to speak to him about it, but of course he wouldn't tell a complete stranger and it's a bit awkward. He was walking out as I was walking in and he was with his family, so it didn't seem a good time to even chat to him. Did he look like he had cheered up since having his chips?
VinceNoir Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading about Nugent. I really hope he stays. Him and Vardy were lethal at times last season, and I for one think they will fare well in the PL.
JohnnyFox Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Good decision- I cant see how anyone could fail to be offended by a complete stranger sauntering up to them in a supermarket and questioning them about their employment prospects in front of their young family Well when you put it like that... Did he look like he had cheered up since having his chips? He wasn't smiling, his girlfriend was though.
Babylon Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 I can understand some concerns because he had quite a few games where he didn't make an impact. But he always gave 100% when he wasn't that involved and the bloke has been top scorer for the last three seasons, and had the top assists in two of the last three. Absolute no brainer that he should stay, even if it's playing a part from the bench should someone better come in.
muzzy1981 Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 He played really well against QPR, obviously one of the better teams, in the 451 system, which as many have eluded to we are likely to play quite a bit this next season. Can't see him going based on the above and his experience. Club might just have to swallow this one, he is more much more valuable than Dyer.
Kitchandro Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 He wasn't smiling, his girlfriend was though. So he's signed a new lucrative contract somewhere then.... If she was REALLY grinning he's signing for a London club.
little Brian Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 doesn't get enough goals from open play.................penalties don't count.....
steveherbe Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Guys calm down, he brought a massive £400,000 house over the field from where I live and with a new born baby don't think he would move anytime soon! 400g? Could have bought the whole of Hinckley for that amount
little Brian Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 Guys calm down, he brought a massive £400,000 house over the field from where I live and with a new born baby don't think he would move anytime soon! not bad for 12 goals a season a striker worth his salt should have had 25 plus in our team plus penalties

We don;t know the clubs plans or what Nuge is after.
LCCFox96 Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 not bad for 12 goals a season a striker worth his salt should have had 25 plus in our team plus penalties *not bad for 20 goals this season and 2 in the cups. And not really. That would have put him on 34 league goals and in case you hadn't noticed nnot many people hit those numbers. Hopefully Nuge signs on soon. Ludicrous to release our top scorer and top assister just after a promotion, especially as we can't gaurentee any replacement is worth the switch. It's too big a gamble to allow Nuge to walk.
artursteppe Posted 29 May 2014 Posted 29 May 2014 The club, as the employer must retain control of any negotiations. Whatever is happening with the negotiations it would not be good for the club to be seen to 'lose'. That would signal to all the other players at the club and maybe people outside the club that we are a 'soft touch', If Nuge does not negotiate something that is acceptable to the club he will have to go. I think that is why we have offered a price which is obviously a little too low for Campbell. Campbell, I think, will only come if Nuge goes!

So he has 20 league goals in the championship. 2) His all round contribution to the side. His high number of assists and positive effect in the dressing room to name but 2. You can't just disregard all of that. Nugent is not solely an out and out goal scorer but has a number of strings to his bow and next season - at a minimum - will be a useful squad player. the championshit As for that, come on how many years have struggled in this league. It's one of the toughest leagues to get out of so 20 (not 12) league goals is no mean return.
