Nuge contract talks stall..

I don't see the issue with giving him a three-year contract? He's 29, only turned 29 this month, so still has a couple (at least) good seasons ahead of him, he's just had the best season of his career and has said he's settled and loving life at Leicester. Even if his form does drop in 2 years time we won't have issue finding him a new club in the Championship, his reputation will help alone.

Be very disappointed if we lose him on a free, especially if it's over the contract length.

This is going on for far too long now with Nuge and Kasper, bloody pi**ing me off, get it sorted!

And more importantly, Nigel.

If we have offered 2 years, it would show that the club expects to be in position by year 3 where a player such as nugent isnt likely to be good enough. It could be mooted that to offer two years means we aren't too bothered about him staying full stop.

Of course the article could be a load of bull and he'll sign his three year deal this week ...................

He's 29... Not surprised he wants 3 year deal, surprised he's not pushing for 4.

He doesn't rely on pace so he's not a one trick pony like someone who does. Can see him playing more in 4411 behind main striker, tucking in and adding an extra body in the mid when required (assuming we don't change our whole way of playing)

Sign him up! FFS!!! A real key player.

Pearson & Schmeichel too while you're at it!!!

Sign him. Sign up Nugent.

Dont know if he'll score any next season but he'll definitely get some assists.

Probably could get a decent alterative though.

Wow, I thought he was 30 this season. His performances this season deserve 2 years. He also deserves one last crack at the Prem. He probably knows it's his last chance to make a real impact at the top level which is why he is supposedly holding out for 3 years. If we give him 3 years and include relegation clauses, at least we know we've got a cracking Championship striker for the season after, or the one after that, should the worst happen. The only down side would be if we do a Hull or Palace and stay up with room to spare. If we aim to improve on that, I'm worried a 30-year-old Nugent on Premier League wages and who isn't playing will be a drain on resources and difficult to sell.

The issue with giving him 3 years is simple. If he doesnt perform well next season or we sign better strikers and we stay up - then he has another 2 years on a high salary. For a player we no longer need. Would refuse to move clubs like gallagher as it would be for less money and then we are back to square one.

Cheerio Nuge. From the Club's perspective it has to be two years and another contract for one year if he is up to it after the initial two years.

It could just be mischief-making by the Press; the Mirror are looking for a story, a 20-goal striker is out of contract and yet to sign a new deal... they have come to the conclusion that he could be on his way. But the article, if it has any validity, also states that talks are ongoing. So, until we hear whether the two sides can come to an agreement or not, it's a bit of a non-story.

What championship club is going to pay a prem wage? (remember ffp)

3 years is acceptable for Nuge.

Unlike Dyer he doesn't rely on pace, he brings other players into the game... he can still do that at 31.

COME ON TERRY SON

Actually, it's ROBIN son. :)
