Nudge to is a decent player but doesn't work hard enough, he looks like he's not bothered half of the time.....

We need clever grafters in the prem.

:o

For fook's sake. Weren't you watching any of last season?

I don't think anyone could have worked much harder for the team than Nugent did.

After the season he has had and we have had, I'm AMAZED that anyone could criticise Nugent. Throughout the season their were some incredible posts about how he was not what we needed etc...

Ridiculous.. then again, on here sometimes, nothing much surprises me anymore.

Greedy, dont they know weve had our fingers burned offering players long contracts.

I'll be worried if we dont sign at least one striker who is significantly better than him anyway.

If true then I'm glad the club are not being held to ransom by agents, and caving to player demands, if we lose Dyer and Nugent and Kasper because of it I will be gutted, but I would understand, we can't afford to have another Gallagher/Beckford/Danns type situation with big contracts being run down.

wouldnt give him a 3 year deal, im not confident hes going to be a success in the prem and hes easily replaceable.

This. He'll never get a better team than us to play for, and he should know that.

He's been an excellent servant but I'm not at all sure he's the best we can find. Or that he'll get us enough goals. I'd wave goodbye.

Not worth 3 years, like others have said 2 years would be better.

People moaned about his performances last season, despite scoring 20 goals in the Championship, he wasn't particularly great was he.

I can't see him doing much in the Premier League, but he is a valuable member of the squad and likes it at Leicester.

However if he does go, it wouldn't be a huge loss.

His contribution was very valuable, him and Vardy worked exceptionally well together if we lose Nugent we will struggle and don't say Wood because he isn't good enough, unless we find someone that can have Nugent's input and more then it would be stupid to let him go.

I think he's more than earned his chance for a shot at the premier league. Suprised but some people's lack of loyalty to the players that have got us here. Hope he stays

I think the criticism of Nugent is very unfair. People don't notice the little things he does off the ball. Our top assister and scorer last season, yet people think he's not good enough for us? I would say he was the 6th best player for us last season behind Kasper, Wes, De laet, James, Drinkwater and Vardy. He deserves a shot at the prem.

I agree in part but I think Nugent is player that will always generate more interest due to his PL/international experience, goal scoring record with us and all round quality. He would also have a higher resale value than those you mentioned. I don't he will be too fussy with wages either - as people say, he "100% wants to stay".

Whilst I'm pleased we seem to be taking no crap from agents this window I would be very disappointed if we lost Nuge to that cause because he doesn't share the same contract stalling points as Dyer (age) and Kasper (interest from big clubs etc). Bottom line is whatever peoples criticisms of him are he has been our top scorer for the last two season which means he's a massive player to replace for us. We'd also need to cough up on two new strikers. Hope we keep Nuge.

If we don't do well next season, watch how quickly it goes..

I totally agree. At the of this season it was clear we'd require someone a lot better than Nugent in that position. This is the one area where we need to spend our 'big money' to ensure survival.

All true. On terms advantageous to the Club and the idea of staying in the PL.

2 years plus an extra year if he plays say 20+ games seems fair.  To be honest as long as we have good relegation clauses a 3 year deal is less of a problem.

A few under utilised / overpaid players is not a massive problem as long as we are in the Premier League - you just don't want a whole squad of them

Two years is enough, 54 goals in 3 years, plus many more assists, is no mean feat for a striker who's never been consistently prolific.

From what I was told they've offered 2yr with additional 1 yr if he plays certain amount of games. Agent is trying to squeeze as much out of us as possible that's the hold up.

Nuge 100% wants to stay, heard it from him myself. Top lad

Sounds sensible from both sides at the negotiation stage.

People on here are talking like we'll be signing Messi in two years time and indignant that someone as lowly as Nugent will have every played for us

Relegation clauses is the key
