ElusiveEd Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Gutted. Even remember him as far back as Kevin Turvey in the 80's. Brilliant in The Young Ones, Bottom, and Blackadder. 56, no age these days. RIP RIk
VinceNoir Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 This makes me feel numb Such a talent. I will be watching Young Ones and Bottom tonight and pouring some out. RIP Rik.
Webbo Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 I feel like part of my youth has died as well, what a shock.
Wycombe Fox Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 I feel like part of my youth has died as well, what a shock. Same One day Drop Dead Fred, next day Drop Dead Rik. RIP Rik Mayall
Stadt Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 I've watched a few Young ones episodes and some Blackadder and he was always a highlight. Rip.
MPH Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Incredibly sad news. He really was a dangerous brother and spent several days in a coma from a quad bike accident back in the 90's... He was a comedy genious and has a huge impact on my love for comedy. Legend is way over used but in my opinion entirely justified in his case... I'll miss him alot!
Harry - LCFC Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Like CPF, I'm going to remember him with laughter. Bloody hilarious some of his stuff!
MPH Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Same One day Drop Dead Fred, next day Drop Dead Rik. RIP Rik Mayall he'd approve of that!
davieG Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 RIP Rik Mayall. Kevin Turvey lives on. Very funny bloke. Kevin Turvey is my first and abiding memory of him always remember that name more than his actual name RIP
LJ Ashurst Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 $h!!!t that has just shocked me quite a lot. I'll never forget my childhood memories watching him in Bottom.
Gary Eatfood Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Gutted, loved Rik Mayall, he had such an expressive acting face and was truly a one-off.
johnny the fox Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 a milestone in your life.. if this don't make you think about how you're living your life, nothing will......
I am Rod Hull Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Gutted... Legend. The Comic Strip with Bad News is one of the television greats and always thought Rik was the best Jackanory reader. It sure is.
pSinatra Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Genuinely saddened by this. Pretty much enjoyed everything that he ever did. He even made Jackanory worth watching when he did Roald Dahl's 'George's Marvellous Medicine'. A true comedy legend
Vacamion Posted 9 June 2014 Posted 9 June 2014 Shame. I loved pretty much every thing he was famous for. "Hey Mr Bassman What is your name? My name is Colin Grigson. And playing the bass guitar is my gaa-aame So let's play the bass guitar NOW"
