johnny the fox Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 Tom Ince has revealed that he was 'very close' to joining Inter Milan but has no regrets about deciding to join Hull City, insisting that it is the right move at this stage of his career. The 22-year-old winger had a number of options this summer after deciding to leave Blackpool at the end of his contract, and held talks with Inter before opting for Hull. I've come here to be educated. Anyone can go to a status club and pick up five or six times more money than you could do in the UK but I'm a footballing person. Thats the type of player we need! To be fair..Hull is enough to turn anybodies head..

Wouldn't want him. He seems to have a very high opinion of himself and blatantly sees Hull as a stepping stone. Personally don't think he'll do much at the top level.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 "I've come here to be educated. Anyone can go to a status club and pick up five or six times more money than you could do in the UK but I'm a footballing person." is what I mean. That being said, Tom Ince would have been a decent back up player to give us something more direct on the wings to replace Lloyd.
Babylon Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 Thats the type of player we need! That lad has been pimping himself about to the highest bidder, his comedy roadshow around Europe with his dad shows that. If he wanted an education that stood him in stead for the long term than a season of Italian football would have been better than going to Hull.
Corky Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 He'll regret it in a few years time. And it's not just singling out Hull, if we were in for him and he chose us over Inter Milan I'd be astonished.
Bryn Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 Some players thrive on being a big fish in a small pond, if he's aware of that then he may as well harness it.
sylofox Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 Only thing I've seen is Pearson saying something along the lines of "their has been some strange stuff written about wage caps", sure it was on the merc website the others day. Someone with 5 minutes might be able to dig it out. I took from it that it was somewhat wide of the mark, but that as always he will look for value and if he doesn't think a certain players demands matches what he thinks they are worth he will pull out of it. Not saying you babs but yet again if someone says we are linked to a player most do not believe it Yet to moment a jurno types a wage its truth

Number 6 Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 ANOTHER player going to Hull! They are really going for it. Should be a good side next season. I remember thinking that about Bolton and Forest.
Legend_in_blue Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 It's a little depressing to see so many potentially good signings for us going to Dull or anywhere else for that matter. What matters is us though, we need to concentrate on ourselves, and not worry about what anyone else is doing. I think NP feels we can rise to the challenge - although we need between 5 to 7 players imo, he'll sign another 2 max. Fingers crossed we don't pick up any unfortunate injuries to any key players.

Nigel will get the right players in.... No point in signing players just for the sake of it.

Rob1742 Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 I would like to see him here, but think as usual this is just the agent getting his client a better deal. Can't see Sunderland offering him a poor contract, so we are just a pawn in the game that is being played.
dpjfox Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 if players at other clubs really want to join us then put in a transfer request
Simo86 Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 if players at other clubs really want to join us then put in a transfer request They lose their loyalty bonus if they do that though
Guest Posted 16 July 2014 Posted 16 July 2014 Just can't see this being realistic at all. If he's suddenly come on then Sunderland will tie him up and are a better bet than us atm from his perspective. At the same time, he'd done nothing for years until right at the end of last season.

Some players need to be mother cuddled....they need to feel the love...Wickham could well get that with Nigel.
sylofox Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 We think we have problems signing players. Blackpool only have 8 players signed on and no keeper lol
Finnaldo Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 We think we have problems signing players. Blackpool only have 8 players signed on and no keeper lolSurely that could work in our favour? Maybe offer them a few of our young lads on loan? Saying that, with the playing surface and training facilities over there they'd probably get more injuries than playing time.

After they showed him what a goal was.

Rob1742 Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Maybe Adam Smith? They can't exactly be choosers can they. Adam is a decent keeper.
Finnaldo Posted 17 July 2014 Posted 17 July 2014 Adam is a decent keeper.I know but he was only in the Conference last year. I was thinking more League 1 for now.**but if the youth management team think he's ready for that level, then it would probably be a great opportunity.
