tamil fox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 just forget Esteban Cambiasso and sign sol bamba he will do same job
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 I wouldn't take him if you paid me, looked awful half the time in the Championship and was even torn apart by Greece on occasions in the World Cup, never a PL player in a million years.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Pearson, Shakey and Walsh rarely get it wrong... Mixed feeling on this one mind
EnglishOxide Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Don't get why people are dissing him. He was a monster for us. That shit about him being a liability is exactly that. I don't recall him being punished for individual errors. As in, we didn't concede goals because of him. Only reason he ever ventured forward was because we had no creativity in midfield. Very much in the Rio Ferdinand mould than the John Terry mould. I recall him having Ronaldo in his pocket when we played Real Madrid. We don't need him now and it would be a strange signing, but he is far from shit and I imagine the main reason Pearson got rid was because of the wages rather than his ability. Show some respect as he did nothing wrong in a City shirt.

kingcarr21 Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Sol Bamba could be in line for a second spell at Leicester City, Talksport reports. The Ivorian defender has had his contract at Turkish club Trabzonspor terminated by mutual consent. The 29-year-old played for the Foxes during the 2011-12 season. What a picture
johnny the fox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 http://talksport.com/football/leicester-set-re-sign-defensive-old-boy-140819108657? batten down the hatches..
surrifox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 this rumour wont disappear will it? If this turns out to be another NP masterstroke it would be incredible
ollielcfc Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Can't understand why Pearson would be interested in a player he couldn't wait to get rid of in the past... Seems to me like lazy journalism, given we were his previous club and the fans loved him I personally don't rate his defensive qualities, think he was just too much of a liability and that's something we can't afford this season
Callabinho Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 I wonder what the REAL, reasons were for terminating his contract. I thought it was down to him not being a Pearson player!
artursteppe Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Sol, as everyone is saying, would be a liability as a central defender. When he was with us before, we should have played him as a defensive midfielder. I still think he could be a low cost option if Esteban does not join us. He could be useful in a 4-1-4-1 formation, and as a back up central defender after Wes, Was, Liam, Rod and Matthew. Going forward from the back he was awesome and the fans loved him doing that. He was also excellent tackling in the middle of the park, but caught out of position too much in the back four. Good option for set pieces as well.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 While I don't think all the criticism is warranted this still isn't a signing I'd be exactly over the moon with.
trueblueju Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 No this is not a thread that is 3 years old. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/transfer-centre/paper-talk (under daily mail) No they're not !

He was a liability there because he can't pass accurately.
Jace Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 This is either agent talk or those who were at the club who are still around now must have very, very good things to say about him
Fox 4 Life Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 He was a bomb scare in the championship, I dread to think what would happen in the Prem!
teblin Posted 19 August 2014 Author Posted 19 August 2014 No they're not ! It was on the 24th of July when I posted!!!!!!!
gibbin82 Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Can't understand why Pearson would be interested in a player he couldn't wait to get rid of in the past... Seems to me like lazy journalism, given we were his previous club and the fans loved him I personally don't rate his defensive qualities, think he was just too much of a liability and that's something we can't afford this season I dont think it was due to him not being able to wait to get rid of him for his footballing ability, but more to do with wanting to get rid of anyone that had Svens generous wages that threatening the future of the club with the propect of FFP. And while there were some serious doubts about his suitability as part of a defensive back four, he did have some other qualities that could cause some teams some real dificulties and be a match winner if used in the right position. Plus I am sure that Pearson also knows him as a character and whether he would fit into the team whilst also being prepared to spend a lot of his time on the bench and maybe only coming on when we need something a bit different (or very different). As far as I remember he always used to play with a smile on his face and seemed a popular with the rest of the players, sometimes how players fit into the dressing room when they are not playing might be just as important as when they are.
Robin JD Popley Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Sol Bamba - A living legend, but, not necessarily always for the right reasons. He could be great, but could also be really, really ****. (That, said, I'd welcome him back just to hear the song again).
sylofox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Would not be bad on a free as cover Nothing in this game is free.
st albans fox Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 did anyone see him in brazil. trying to dribble out of the 18 yard box? trying one twos on the edge of his 18 yard box ? liked him a lot but too dangerous for us this season.
Kitchandro Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 His problem wasn't his dribbling, it was his positioning. He's shocking at it. It cost us too many goals. He was amazing on his day but just not good enough often enough.
