Devonfox1884 Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 is there a vid link? Just radio today I believe, happy to be proved wrong though.
Steven Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Leicester subs: Logan, Morgan, Kennedy, Hammond, King, Albrighton, McCourt, Mahrez, Nugent, Wood.
kingfox Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 My long lost brother on the bench for Preston today. Preston are no slouches, 2-1 Leicester win. GTF & Nugent with the goals.
Guest Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 is this the first time that Jak McCourt has made the first team bench?
lgfualol Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 McCourt huh, I like seeing these players on the bench for first team matches. I feel like they're just rotting away in the u21s
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Can see a loss here. being serious, not that friendlies matter much

Steven Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Shakey confirms 4-2-3-1. "We expect Preston to be ahead of us as their season starts next week. Pre season needs perspective."
kingfox Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Shakey confirms 4-2-3-1. "We expect Preston to be ahead of us as their season starts next week. Pre season needs perspective." Hopefully this formation works, I want to see us use it in the Prem, as well as 4-3-2-1
65RosesFox Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Bit wet up north for anyone travelling. Given the starting line up the other night I am expecting: Kasper De laet Wasyl Moore Schlupp James Drinkwater Knockaert GTF Vardy Ulloa Score draw. Not a bad prediction, one away. However I hope you're score prediction is wrong and we carry on the winning streak.
65RosesFox Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Frustrating that all pre season our best striker has been played out of position on the left wing. If we are going to play a 4-2-3-1 formation then Ulloa will always be upfront as he is a target man. So that is when Vardy will be played in a three just behind him. I think he can be just as dangerous there running at defences. When we got to a 4-4-2 formation Vardy will be up top with one other striker. I'd expect us to play 4-4-2 the majority of home games and a of 4-2-3-1 style formations away from home this season.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 I hope we aren't going to be playing Vardy as a wide man when the season starts proper. His pace and ability to unnerve defences is easily our greatest asset up top.
Callabinho Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Leo looks really sloppy, worrying with only a couple of weeks to go.

So you drop one of Albrighton/Knockaert/Mahrez to play a striker out of position? Vardy played wide against Everton and kept drifting centrally, it was obvious he didn't want to play out on the left and looked most dangerous when trying to run in behind through the middle like his disallowed goal for offside. Vardy was our best striker last season and crucial in how successful we were. We need to play a formation that makes best use of him rather than sticking him on the wing and changing his game.
lcfcsnow Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Leo looks really sloppy, worrying with only a couple of weeks to go. Who was the last big man who was any good for us though? Our best season in ages came the first season in a long time where we relied on pace up front and not sticking a lump up front.
bluesbrothers Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 G'won Liam! And GTF involved again. He's been our star man in pre-season.

No i'd actually play him in the middle of the three just behind Ulloa. Like you said when playing centrally he was most dangerous. I agree we should play Vardy up front, however if Pearson chooses to play 4-2-3-1 at any point this season Vardy would be wasted up front on his own. So what do you do then, leave him on the bench or play him just behind Ulloa where he can run at the defence and still use his pace....
Babylon Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Leo looks really sloppy, worrying with only a couple of weeks to go. His ball retention stats were among some of the worst in the league.
