zak_lcfc Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Barcelona this year for me, defensively not the best but their front three are finding form and is arguably the best front three in the world

ealingfox Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Whacked my name in the old ballot for final tickets. You never know eh?
foxfanazer Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 I honestly think Chelsea have a great chance. They just know how to win games and with players like Hazard and Oscar they aren't short on world class talent
Lovejoy Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Can't rule out Bayern. They haven't excelled yet, their best is still to come.
Dan Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 I've got a double on Bayern & Villarreal for the European competitions. I honestly think Chelsea have a great chance. They just know how to win games and with players like Hazard and Oscar they aren't short on world class talent Semis again for me. Think they're that bit below Barca, Real and Bayern. I'd be intrigued to see them against Atletico again.
Finnegan Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 If Barca maintain this form, Barca. Looking mental at the minute. Real dropping off greatly in 2015, Dortmund all at sea, Juve and PSG probably just not good enough. Think it's between Chelsea, Bayern and Barcelona but if Suarez, Messi and Neymar stay fit and happy I think they'll win.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Chelsea. They are not the best, but they have Mourinho.
Finnegan Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Chelsea. They are not the best, but they have Mourinho. Yeah good point. I forgot about his phenomenal track record with Chelsea in this competition.
ScouseFox Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Yeah good point. I forgot about his phenomenal track record with Chelsea in this competition. bit harsh, ghost goal and penalty kicks away from the final twice to liverpool (when rafa was a genius at this competition) and then semis again last year vs atletico (spanish champions, injury time goal away from winning this too). hardly knocked out in the group stage like a liverpool or united or city of late. then obviously his personal record in it is ludicrous. don't think they're good enough to beat barca, bayern or madrid over two legs unless he pulls off something genius though.
Finnegan Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Has he won it with Chelsea? No. Or Real? No. With probably billions invested between the two. Atleti were there for the taking he just bottled it. He's not a shit manager, he's clearly very good, but claiming Chelsea will beat these Barca and Bayern sides because of him is a bit rich.
ScouseFox Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 yeah but it's a bit harsh to claim he's got a poor record with chelsea just cos he hasn't won it there imo. been pretty unlucky not to. i'd say they've a much better chance with than without him, he likes to play the underdog. he wouldn't be scared of facing madrid etc next round. but they'd probably be edged out overall.
Finnegan Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 It's because he's obsessed with playing the under dog that they'd lose to real. He has a very talented attacking side, he's way too cautious. Touch of the Pearson's. Just go for it. As for better off with than without, I give you Robbie Di Matteo and Avram Grant's final.
ScouseFox Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 yeah but they both got all the luck that jose were robbed of man come on, if chelsea get barca next round and you were a chelsea fan would you be more or less confident with jose or avram ****ing grant? stop taking the piss finnaz.

He's clearly a good manager, I'm not arguing otherwise. But there's a lot of good managers in the world, he's just not the deciding factor some people think he is. Christiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi win you games. Tournaments. Having Mourinho on your touchline as opposed to Ancelotti (who has won it with Real) or Guardiola (who permanently had Joses pants down) doesn't.
Finnegan Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 No-one going for Atletico Madrid? Just me then. You don't watch la Liga then? Currently in danger of not making the top three.
Guest MattP Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Barca or Real - just look quite a way ahead of anyone else at the minute.
