Stadt Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 So many average players. For the amount they've spent they should have a team like Bayern but they don't. I've seen a few Barcelona games this season and I can hand on heart say Man City have looked no better here than the likes of Rayo, Malaga, Real Sociedad etc... ordinary, dull side on the European scene. I'd avoid buying from Portugal like they often do
Fox92 Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 They need to score but still play one up front. You can, they just buy the likes of Sagna, Mangala, Jovetic, Bony, Clichy, Demichelis, Fernandinho and Fernando instead. Yeah exactly. Chelsea for their money at least buy quality.
Bayfox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 This is barca back to their best. Messi is ridiculous. How many openings does he create for others.
Dan Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 I don't get why clubs in England don't go looking for the next Aguero or the next Silva.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 I'd avoid buying from Portugal like they often do Erm, isn't it just the two players?
Bayfox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 I don't get why clubs in England don't go looking for the next Aguero or the next Silva. Man City have the current. And it ain't doing them much good . Aguero however would make that barca side even better.
Dan Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Jesus Navas is ****ing shocking. Erm, isn't it just the two players? Given their track record so far I think it's probably a decent time to stop. Man City have the current. And it ain't doing them much good .Aguero however would make that barca side even better. I mean as opposed to chucking thirty million at Wilfried Bony. What an utterly pointless signing.
zak_lcfc Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Juventus have played this second leg perfectly, I know Dortmund are not the team they were of the past few years but nevertheless the Italians have done a good job over the two legs
One Legged Beaver Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Man City seem happy just buying squad players recently instead of players to challenge their first team.
VinceNoir Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 City have been fairly poor, but Hart has had a blinder today
Fox92 Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Another two great saves. I'll be surprised if Hart doesn't get man of the match.
Bayfox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Shame barca have a transfer embargo cuz for me they should sign Joe Hart on tonight's evidence.
ScouseFox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 City have been fairly poor, but Hart has had a blinder today yeah been an absolute joke tonight, could've conceded double figures based on good chances alone
Benguin Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 At least our England side has a great keeper. Messi is insane, need an excuse to see him play in person.
Guest MattP Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Imagine spending 100 million on Bony, Fernandinho and Mangala. Imagine spending 300million and playing Barcelona with Demichelis, Sanga and Milner on the pitch.
theessexfox Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Will be sad to see Aguero leave, probably my favourite non-Leicester player. Madrid?
Corky Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Gary Lineker @GaryLineker 3m3 minutes ago Crisis point for @premierleague football. If no winter break at least play less games over Xmas and no FA Cup replays beyond 4th round. Is it really crisis point? Or a poor season? Football is cyclical, England isn't going to dominate every year in Europe. One rough year and the pundits feel the world will cave in.

Corky Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 One quarter final in 3 years...? Man United reached the quarter-finals, Chelsea the semis last year. Half the English sides in the last 8 isn't a terrible effort. This year hasn't been great but there is no crisis.
BlueSi13 Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 You can, they just buy the likes of Sagna, Mangala, Jovetic, Bony, Clichy, Demichelis, Fernandinho and Fernando instead. Same with most Premier League teams. All the money in the world and it's all spunked up the wall on over-priced and over-rated (but fashionable) foreigners. Makes an absolute mockery of the 'English players are too expensive bollocks'. But take a look at any transfer gossip/rumours and you'll see that trend shows no signs of stopping. Every year the Premier League has it's genuine talent taken away by Real Madrid or Barcelona to be replaced boatloads of mediocrity. Meanwhile young English players are being pushed further and further down the leagues in order to find game-time. Dreadful.
Guest MattP Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Erm. Is Lineker actually blaming replays and the Xmas fixtures for our performance in Europe.
Corky Posted 18 March 2015 Posted 18 March 2015 Erm. Is Lineker actually blaming replays and the Xmas fixtures for our performance in Europe. I don't get it either. Liverpool were out before both of those kicked in, Man City were outclassed by an incredible team, Chelsea's tactics as much as anything cost them, Arsenal's brainless first leg was to blame against Monaco. A few years ago we had the final contested by two English sides, we had five finalists in a row, three out of four semi-finalists in both 2008 and 2009, back to back finalists (and a winner) in 2011 and 2012. A semi-finalist last year. We need some perspective, the last decade English clubs have punched a more than fair weight.
