weller54 Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Will he now keep Kasper out of the side?.. Nige is always reluctant to change a winning team!
Sharpe's Fox Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I think he will come straight back in. He is our assistant captain and with Wes is the only player who will be in the side no matter what.
EGBFitness Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Against Man Utd? Doubt it, sky will be playing on the fact that it's against his dads former team during whole build up and although Hamer was quality today, KS has been pretty solid his whole time here so can imagine him going straight back into team. Do believe players should be based on performance based though like CM dilemma we had which Pearson dealt with well
Sir Fynwy Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 His good performance means we don't have to rush Kasper back but I'd guess Kasper really wants to plan against Man U and will be doing everything to play next week.
pSinatra Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 He deserves to keep his place........which I couldn't have imagined saying after the first 20 mins or so. He got over his initial nerves & the produced the quality that Nigel (& co) saw in him. Great blocks & came out for some commanding catches..............catches that I'm not so sure Kasper would have attempted catching. Trouble is, the next match is Man Utd & if there was ever a game Kasper would want to impress in, that's the one (if fit?)
Haydos Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Looked better in the air and more confident in his decisions coming for crosses than Schmeics. 2 good saves. I was pretty happy with his performance but I think Schmeichel will come back in. It does mean that we won't have to rush him back though.

MPH Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Reckon Logan has done enough in his loan spell to be in the first 11 now.. selling Kasper and having Hamer as backup to Logan will be a great way to balance the books and keep the FFP hounds at bay..

MC Prussian Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I felt somewhat insecure seeing him in our starting XI and he showed glimpses of nervousness in the beginning, but I was amazed how composed he played the longer the game went on. And he came up with some terrific reflexes and was really calm in the air. Surely a good thing to have two reliable goalkeepers in the squad. Although it's still early doors with Hamer. However, this is a great performance to build upon.
Jakemoore Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I think he commands his area better than KS. This has always been Kaspers one weakness. Hamer needs to work on his kicking though I can see BH keeping his spot, this is how Pearson likes to manage.
DennisNedry Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Hamer made some good saves today and was assured in claiming crosses. However he did kick the ball straight out of play 4 or 5 times.
Stadt Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 He seems to know he's backup and he won't be shocked if KS is in for Man U.
Charl91 Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I wish he'd played it short a bit more often, and I don't think his shot stopping is as comfortable as Kaspers. He does seem to be better at coming to collect crosses in general though.
Beliall Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I think it might have been 1-1 with kasper in goal. The flying starfish wouldnt have stopped the clise range attempt near the end. Id be tempted to have hamer for man u.

Id be tempted to have hamer for man u. Good shout. He definitely needs to be a bit smarter when using that. Still a fantastic shot stopper.
Buzzell Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Good performance from Hamer today. How long is Kasper out for? Sure I read somewhere he was out for 3 weeks so Hamer will start against Man Utd?
Beliall Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Good shout. He definitely needs to be a bit smarter when using that. Still a fantastic shot stopper.Agreed. Its a tough call
Russ112112 Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I think bringing kasper back will give out the wrong messege to the team.lot of fans calling for Hammond to be dropped today pearson will do the right thing.
sdb Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Really impressed, but the goalkeeping spot is the one you don't mess with unless needed. Kasper's our no.1 and i'd want him back in for Utd.
Blanesta Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 I think this game will do his confidence the world of good. He got caught a few times with challenges but really showed determination and bravery, especially against a real aerial threat in Crouch. Depending on how long Kasper is out it's a real chance for him to prove himself. It's a tough season and we need the whole squad. I do think Kasper will be first choice when fit though, managers don't tend to chop and change their no.1 keeper.
Durnerz Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Really positive performance from Hamer given Stoke's fondness for pumping the ball into the box at every opportunity. Schmeichel has looked a little shakey on occasions with crosses but Hamer takes clean catches and displayed quality handling, not to mention the fantastic double save that kept 3 points in our hands. Kicking could do with a little work but nothing that isn't fixable, very positive indeed.
ZeljkoKalac1 Posted 13 September 2014 Posted 13 September 2014 Fair play to the lad - He was crap for the first 15 minutes and then grew into the game, and by the final whistle was the saviour! Let's not get carried away though, Kasper has more than earned the No 1 jersey as such. But it is fantastic to see that in Hamer we have a more than adequate No 2 that, after that display will definitely keep Kasper on his toes, as he knows now his shirt isn't a given as it was last season. (no disrespect intended to the legend Logan).
