cjslcfc Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 http://www.leaguemanagers.com/news/news-7438.html? 25 Sep 2014 HOME WIN AGAINST MAN UTD EARNS LEICESTER THE ACCOLADE The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week the newly sponsored and longstanding LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Leicester City following their excellent 5-3 home win against Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League on 21 September 2014. The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football. Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson will receive a new specially commissioned trophy made by world renowned silversmiths and LMA Partner, Thomas Lyte of London, in a presentation to commemorate the award. Leicester won the award after a fine second half come back to secure a stunning victory. A brace from Leonardo Ulloa and strikes by David Nugent, Esteban Cambiasso and Jamie Vardy earned the hosts victory where they had trailed 3-1 in the second half. Speaking after the match, Pearson was delighted with the result: "It's massive. Obviously, it's not been an easy journey to come here, and now we are at the top, but it's all about staying here now." Bet he was happy to give that award away!!

Could you get any more Real Football Men than those? Can't imagine AVB, Pepe Mel and Rafa being the panel in a few years.
st albans fox Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 Bet he was happy to give that award away!! He must like NP so I doubt he was too bothered. Tbh, every game where LVG struggles just cements AF's legendary status.

ARM1968 Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 Christ on a pogo stick. It's football. Fouls get missed, players dive, things happen. For the last 20 years it's all gone Man UTD's way. Who gives a stuff? We battered em. Vardy might have gone down easily. It might have been a foul beforehand. None of that matters. The Ref's decision. THAT is all that counts.

Best post on any site since the game. FFS if it had been the other way around, we wouldnt be hearing about it anymore. Mind you some city fans arent any better, they still harp on about the non given penalty against Chelsea 1000 years ago.

Some are still annoyed about the retaken penalty at OT, Sunday makes up for that

I think the only reason it is being discussed so much and why it is deemed controversial is because the instances happened within seconds of each other. If they happened on separate occasions it wouldn't be as much of an issue. But the inconsistency between the two makes it stand out.
kingfox Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 I'm a City fan through and through. Well if that wasn't the case, you might as well fook off.
Merging Cultures Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 They have only one for centre back for this weekend. We really tore them a new one.
Vlad the Fox Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 They have only one for centre back for this weekend. We really tore them a new one. That's one more than they appeared to have on Sunday.
Monsell1976 Posted 25 September 2014 Posted 25 September 2014 Reading through the last page or so, I'm with arm1968, why the **** are we having a heated debate on the vardy incident, we have just had the best win in recent history, who cares if it was or wasn't a foul, we beat Man U. A question you have to ask is, if Man U had been given the same decision in their favour, ( which they have had many, many favours from refs over the years), would their arrogant, smug fans still be debating wether it was or not days later. On to palace now, just hope we can keep up this performance levels up, and the players forget the Man U result, and keep their feet on the ground, I'm sure they will.

JIMMYWILLIS Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Just watched the highlights again. Still gives me a shiver. And hadn't noticed before how ulloa urged the crowd to clap Vardy off. These lot seem so tight knit
theofficialboy Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 The Boss from Hell post from the game made me chuckle. Hilarity ensued. https://www.facebook.com/lowlyemployee/photos/a.805951686134246.1073741829.793359274060154/808900089172739/?type=1&theater

Yeah like it was ever his " home " he has gone on to a bigger club and better things , why on earth would he want to go back to that shambles of a club in terminal decline. Man United fans the epitome of lost souls exhibiting signs of delusion of grandeur.

Oh, in the first half they had players go over easily twice, one right on the edge of the box and that corner that wasn't but Man Utd expect to get them, they do not expect to have it done to them though, damn it!

Man United fans the epitome of lost souls exhibiting signs of delusion of grandeur. He'll have to play Centre Back! They need more strikers like a hole in the head. Those MUFC fans are completely deluded - have been all week. I have really enjoyed this thread. Time to move on to tomorrow's game for me.

Complete lack of class, self-respect or self-awareness. Jesus! Well, I'm sure he'd see a move to Old Trafford as a very attractive proposition. Fighting for a first team place with a wealth of world class talent at a mid-table club with a defence made of paper is every Real Madrid player's dream. Unless LvG can perform miracles with their defence, they can write this season off like the last one.

Complete lack of class, self-respect or self-awareness. More like another example of their general delusion and tendency of clinging onto times past. Maybe Ronaldo would be tempted to return to Old Trafford - but it'd have to be a team that warrants that term, and not the equivalent of a baboon in the zoological world (quite aggressive going forward, but when you look at that behind, oh my).
