Wayne Rooney

Not exactly "shit" is he. Considering he plays for Manchester United, picked by three different managers consistently, and plays for his Country. He has delivered domestically and in Europe for years.

I liked his reaction when we made it 3-3. Really screamed at the rest of the players.

He only screamed at the young lads at the back. None of the big players who were equally culpable got his hairdryer treatment. He also was at fault for the goal. In the past it was Rafael and nani that got the verbals. If I was smalling or Blackett, I would've told him to fcuk off and focus on his own game. He was bang average for most of the game today. Cambiasso and then deano had him in their back pockets.

Unfortunately for England, Rooney is a massive bell end....he's not shite just over-rated. His wages echo that.

His attitude today; moaning at the ref after every decision, throwing his arms around and having a whine like a 4 year old just reinforce that he shouldn't be a captain. He has no leadership material and it pains me that he is first pick for England and always will be.

The other thing that also doesn't help is the media love him and he gets so much hype whenever he scores or does something which is remotely good. Prime example was his overhead kick against Man City. Yes - great goal but nowhere near as good as ZIdane's or Izzet's against Grimsby.

Shame to see that when he was 16 - 18 he could of gone on to be world-class but his attitude has made him become what he is - a cock.

I think he was lol the whole team as a whole was poor but Rooney as an individual was poor too. Apart from his cross to Sturridge and his goal he didn't bring anything!

He scored the equaliser against Uruguay? I thought he always looked good on the ball unlike today. Don't get me wrong, I think he's an arsehole, but he's clearly a scapegoat where England are concerned. As soon as he scored, the fickle twats switched their attention to Gerrard.

You mean the third goal after which he made the mistake of not clearing it properly, then proceeded to blame the defense?

All these posts over Rooney. Congrats to all you posters. You have just managed to reach a belittling and degradation of posts that you all criticise the Manu fans for..

He definitely isn't "shit". He just isn't anywhere as good as people expect him to be and make out that he is. Delusions of grandeur

Attention went to Gerrard with his back pass to Suarez for the winner.

He does have a good ability on the ball but he's decision making, attitude and team work is always something of a concern.

Personally I'd prefer to see him dropped for England and never been given captaincy as he has never shown any level of leadership on the field for club or country.

Maybe being dropped for England would make him aware that he's not a guarantee and maybe not given into he's annual pay increase wage demands that builds up he's ego might bring him back to earth abit and won't be so much of a cock.

A lot of people put him in same category of Ronaldo and Messi, he gets same wage (if not more) but look at what they offer club and country and their professionalism etc they are on a complete different level

Lcfc fans on Rooney- attitude, today's performance, england performances

Mufc fans- hoping for death/ illnesses to our players and their families for out playing them

I can see the comparisons there lol

It's quite clear that he shouldn't be captain. He's one of the most passionate players out there but he's not a leader like Vidic was.

People hate him because he comes across a thug on the pitch and he's arrogant and greedy. Don't start the counter-argument of him not being overpaid, because he is. He decided that 200k a week as the most integral member of one of the biggest clubs in the world wasn't enough for him.

He's an excellent player but he's not World-Class anymore. He is often poor for England. Doesn't seem to care. Saddens me that he will probably end up with the all-time scoring record.

I think he was the only bloke chasing back with any urgency for our fourth. Smalling - casual jog.

I don't dislike Rooney, I do agree that he's past his peak but I don't buy that he's been on the decline since 2004, he's had two seasons where he's scored 30+ in all competitions in that time.

I don't think he's captain material by any stretch, mind.
