In all seriousness, why not move to the side to allow traffic to pass?

What you can see on the left is the fourth large entrance to a field. We also passed a very large entrance to a radio tower. Plus, as the verge shows, the cvnt could have fitted up on that if he wanted to. It's a good job I am a passive, peace loving individual, full of love for my fellow man.

I find that the more rural that people live, the more ignorant, selfish arrogant, self-centred they are...

Slightly off road.

A parking ticket, for being a few minutes over the paid for hour.

I don't know about anyone else, but in a pay and display car park, I take my parking hour as starting from when I purchase the ticket to the end time on the ticket. Apparently not. They photograph entry and exit, so the fine is due to my time starting from entry, and includes looking for a space, getting out and going to get the ticket. I hadn't added those 8 minutes to my time and therefore didn't leave 8 minutes before the ticket expired

Hopefully, the appeal is successful.

I would appeal this. There ought to be some allowance for finding a space and getting to the machine. I’ve parked in all manner of paid car parks, in all pay and displays I’ve ever used it’s been from when I’ve bought the ticket and the signage often says you’ve got up to 10 minutes to decide whether you wish to accept the parking T&Cs or not.

What did it say on the ticket?

Scarborough. My initial appeal has been rejected. Appeal 2 lodged.

Rejected on what grounds?

Rejected as "There are signs saying you must pay for parking".

Nothing about the time starting as you drive in, not your ticket time. Obviously, you know it starts when you drive in if its ANPR or you collect at ticket on entry. And that's absolutely fine because you know that. But pay and display, never experienced that before, it's usually from/to the time on your ticket.

I've progessed the appeal.

He should indeed, I once appealed a fine which I got in such a car park because I drove in and then waited 10 minutes because is was absolutely hammering it down with rain before buying a ticket.  I did however leave only about 30 minutes into the hour I paid for which might have helped the appeal on the basis that they were not in any way out of pocket.

What’s the wording on the ticket?

There aren't any, other than time and date. No T&C's on the back or anything.

It’s ridiculous.

Check out the legal definition of ‘parking’ in some case law appeals.

I’m pretty sure it would refer to the car coming to a halt. So if you’re driving around looking for a space you are not technically parking.

And then check the wording on the charge that you have got and the signage at the car park - if either refer to parking then you can happily point out that you were not, in fact, parked!

(I assume it’s not a private car park? If it is, check out the new COP’s for grace periods and enforcement).

Would that argument work in a case of indecent exposure - being partially clothed is not naked therefore how offence be caused?

*Asking for a friend

**Actually, @Raj has some pretty offensive shirts so maybe it was that

***Stop doing that on the bus, Raj

This didn't annoy me, it amused me greatly. I had a car behind me with the number plate of T44 WWT - so in my mirror, it read as TWW 44T.

Hmmm, I need to get that changed don't I.

Just join the A50, go into the inside lane and stay there at well under the speed limit. Yep, you just stay there.

Joined M1 south from J25 yesterday, got in behind a decrepit old boy in a knackered old Vauxhall Astra 2005 plate, constant 45 MPH. It's just dangerous.

My best friend's Dad died in March, and at his life celebration last weekend, much amusement was expressed that he refused to go above 50 on the motorway, so parsimonious was he about spending money.

He was a great guy but I gather he did get stopped by the police for going too slowly.

I've always found stories about the lengths that misers will go to save a few pence extremely heart warming.
