Yep.

And keep this every week, I don't even care about "setting up to nullify the opposition". Southampton haves thrived because they played their own philosophy from game 1 and continue to today.

We're fvcking about too much trying to match up the opposition through tactics, hard work but sacrificing class and ability.

True..

Personly I feel abused by our recent performances. Apart from the freak goal we were in the game throughout but played without real intensity again.

At home, after. 3 dogshit performances, you would have thought we'd be bang up for it, we weren't. That worries me.

Not being as good as the opposition is one thing, but not putting the effort in is unforgivable.

Make no mistake, Pearson is in trouble - more because of who is waiting in the wings than anything else. Bad result against Southampton, which looks odds on, and we have an international break. - watch that space.

There's a lot of sense there. The other thing that's happened at Southampton is they've bought and sold their Academy products brilliantly. We bought indifferently in the close season presumably because there wasn't a lot available to us for whatever reason.

We have a supposedly brilliant Academy but there's not been much evolution as I've noticed in the Pearson era. Moore and Schlupp are the only ones who've really come through and I wouldn't say Schlupp - any more than any of our attackers - has improved apart from defensively.

Southampton bring people through, improve them once they're in the first team and seem to sell them on at just the right time. It's served them so well because they always seem to find replacements for those they sell. They make their Academy work for them. We seem to do so little beyond a certain level.

I'm sick of Pearson's eternal negativity. He should have been an insurance man. Schlupp could so easily have provided the width we needed yesterday - even from a position on the left side of a diamond. But we don't show that kind of imagination and it leaves the team disjointed.

If there's no width, a big portion of the passing opportunities disappear, especially given our seriously limited support from the back line who really don't move forward as a unit because they're collectively too slow.

Konch is slowly becoming an iffy full-back rather than a wing-back and we got nothing but two stoppers at centre-back. They don't even score any goals for us - and neither does anyone else at the moment which tells its own story for all that we've got a forwards coach now which I honestly believed would effect an improvement.

But there can't be improvement unless we play in such a way as to attack in numbers when the opportunity arises. And we'll never do that if we're weighted down with fear and constantly taking the pace, width and impact out of our side. We don't have enough to waste it.

I'm sure our lack of pace contributes to the slow tempo of our team until we concede a goal and are forced to try to lift the pace. What's all that about?

Had to take some time out before posting on here as was too disappointed yesterday.

However, looking back at the game, I actually don't think it was that bad..... we've been beat by an absolute fluke goal which is highly unfortunate. Yes we should still be better as an attacking side but we were far more compact and actually looked like we weren't going to concede. Had we have kept it 0-0, I think we may of gone on to win and now we'd be delighted with a hard working 1-0 win and clean sheet.... then most of the fans wouldn't been as pissed off with performance/team selection etc.

I did feel for Konch today. When you play the diamond in midfield, you rely heavily on full backs bombing on even more than normal and this is a big ask for him. At least De Laet can burst past a man unlike Konch but having said that, both were much better defensively today, particularly De Laet.

The 4 x centre mids did ok but just all too similar and Drinky looks like a fish out of water if he has to play slightly different to what he did last year. Glad to see King in, I know he wasn't his absolute best but he still has to play for me.

The only thing that's really annoyed me and still is doing, is the lack of game time for Mahrez..... Yes he can be lazier than others and yes he can be wasteful at times but so what!!!! Its one thing to drop him, I get that, but to not bring him on was appalling!!!! He's comfortably our most dangerous and creative player so seemed bizarre. I know a lot moaned about him last week at Swansea but as bad as everyone was in that game, at least he looked like he could make something happen. CRAZY!

As for Powell, yes maybe deserves a chance but he barely touched it in the time he was on so i'll reserve more judgement soon

I'm still not right now and I fear i'll be like it until the next game, still ****ing angry and fuming, I saw someone post last week that atleast in the Championship your next game was never far away because of the amount of midweek games, if you lost on the Saturday atleast there was a chance to put it right again midweek.

The last few weeks i've been a right miserable **** all week, and before anyone says it, yes even more miserable that usual.

Some overreaction in here in my opinion.

Thought we played ok yesterday, we just need more creativity going forward and a bit more luck in the penalty box.

Plus points defensively we looked better, I'd be tempted to try the same formation with Mahrez in for King in a total free role and Ulloa in for Nugent who simply isn't up to it at this level.

Now I'm not convinced Ulloa and Vardy will work - both seem to be penalty box players more than anything, not one to drop deep and let the other run off them.

WBA fan on twitter "we invited you to break us down and you failed".

Not aware of that tactic, anyone else?

Says to me he is admitting WBA were shit, there for the taking but we still couldn't break them down.

He's tried to have a pop at how bad we were, yet he's waxing lyrical about how they controlled the game etc.

Very confused lol

Agreed.

The time to start worrying is when we get back to something approaching our 'best' (which we have seen for most of the first five the games, remember), but we still keep losing. I happen to think our 'best' will be enough to steer us clear of relegation.

I appreciate it's a higher standard of football but I do think some people are a bit deluded about some of the opposition at times. I don't agree with whoever said WBA were poorer than Reading/Brighton but I didn't think they were unbeatable at all. I think the Leicester of last season would've gotten at least a point yesterday and I'm even more confident that we'd have created more.

I have absolutely no idea what Albrighton has to do to get a game. We have players who fit the kind of football we played last season and earlier this year and we're neglecting them - and for what? This utter shit? My ****ing word.

This. Agree with every word. Albrighton, Simpson and Knockeart? Why, not play any wingers at all yeaterday, then come out with that post match rant was/is truly bizarre.

Morgan's header against Cambiasso was an action of an incompetent oaf. What on earth was he thinking?

Vardy's over head kick when he had the time to control the ball and even pass it for an easy goal was equally hienous.

Watching the game now. We are not playing as badly as I thought we must have done given the comments in here.

Quite a few sloppy passes that we would have got away with last year. We had quite a number of chances, and eventually some will go in.

I like the Was and Wes partnership. Not convinced by Kingy unfortunately.

The ref was right there for the elbow. It was a good one. :)

Thought King was good. What did he do wrong?

erm...missed a sitter from 2 yards out

Was it? Maybe he was unaware of how much time he had due to no one talking?? As for the overhead, there were two players coming towards him, they would have been on him when he controlled it, let alone turn and shoot. You do realise Nesta and Pele don't play for us don't you??

Thought the same with the Vardy chance but god forbid criticising him on here...
