MPH Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Black friday. The day people here in the states fight and push each other out of the way for 'stuff' exactly one day after being grateful for what they have.
pooleyLCFC Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 That's only a good deal if you actually need an ipad mini, I'm pretty sure that anybody that already needs or even wants a tablet already has one. Present for a family member who is probably going to use it a lot, seemed a good deal like you said
Buce Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Trust the missus to get the wrong idea - I just caught her in bed with Frank Bruno...
ElusiveEd Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Thousands and thousands of radio controlled helicopters. They're everyf*****gwhere.
cambridgefox Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 That's only a good deal if you actually need an ipad mini, I'm pretty sure that anybody that already needs or even wants a tablet already has one.took the other 2 I bought back( Xmas presents for father in law and my lad) saving me £250. Not bad as I only looked at it as I had left the I pad on John Lewis last night and was met with " Black Friday deals on I pads" thought I would have a Butchers.we have now all got iPads and immediate family do now, so that's my lot.
Sir Fynwy Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 As I work in the UK I don't have the day off. So I wont be going shopping. I also didn't have a Thanksgiving dinner, and I wont be developing a taste for piss weak beer and baseball. You can get plenty of seriously good and strong craft beers in the US but I agree on the other points.
VLC86 Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 websites r ridiculously slow today. Cant believe a sewing machine is the hardest toy to get a hold of this xmas for girls Get her an iron instead mate.
The Blur Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 I have been thinking about getting a DSLR, this morning I was looking at the Black Friday bargains and saw one "Down from £350" to £299. At the bottom of the page it also said "This item has previously been on sale at £199" Why would they add the last sentence on the page- some sort of a legal obligation?
Des. Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Makes me thankful that the Shop I work for does not take part in the Black Friday sales
Matt Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 John Lewis - iPad Air 32gb, £329, says save £30, £30 really isn't that much but the price of £329 seems cheap to me anyway, i'm sure they've been more expensive than that (£359) when i've looked in the past? I hate Americanised things and never bought anything in the past on 'Black Friday' but I am in the market for a few electrical things so if I see something at a decent price I suppose I can embrace it just this once.
Jon the Hat Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 You can get plenty of seriously good and strong craft beers in the US but I agree on the other points. It was a stereotype.... Some great beers all over the world as long as you steer clear of the mass produced crap.
Donut Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 I know the origins of the name, putting retailers "in the black" hence the name But the name itself sounds like some sort of disaster, Like a bomb went off in a mall and killed 500 people, or a plane crashed somewhere in the Atlantic......."BLACK friday". I think the real shame is the corporate greed we allow in society. Ok, yes, im typing this on a laptop which you could argue isnt ESSENTIAL to my being, but why do we settle for being rinsed all year at extortionate prices if the profits are still being made today? Why do we settle for making a guy at the top £110 million instead of £103 million while the guy on the shop floor's full time job puts him in poverty and hes now working 2 jobs and 70 hours a week just to make ends meet? Im not adverse to picking up a cheap bargain. Maybe, a present for a family member if it was there. But as a nation we embrace the absolute worst parts of US culture.
Babylon Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 we're too smart to fall for it. I went by at exactly 7 and there was just one solitary girl waiting to get in Bless her.
Babylon Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Black Friday = Jobless people fighting with other jobless people over who can buy the crappiest wide screen TV with their WONGA money paying 3000% interest.

Also is 32gb enough? Considering a 64gb Air 2 (Only because you can't get a 64gb Air) But the only difference I can see between a 32gb Air and 62gb Air 2 is the hard drive (Obviously), a finger print reader (Wow! ), the Air 2 is 1.4mm thinner (that's a HUGE difference ), and the Air 2 is lighter.

If youre this impressed by the extra features, do you really need to ask for advice on which to buy?
Matt Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 If youre this impressed by the extra features, do you really need to ask for advice on which to buy? Well the main point question was do I need a 64gb over a 32gb? I shit with stuff like that I dunno what a gb holds or how much that is Obviously the 64gb is double but is a 32 big enough anyway, i'll be keeping photos on it, music, I know it depends on how much of that I put on but still I have no idea. I'm good at using computers but when it comes to gigabytes, megabytes, ram, 'technical' (It is to me) stuff, not a clue.
Vlad the Fox Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 I'd go for 64. I've not filled mine with apps or games and only store some music on it plus a few photos and I am just past or about on 34gb on my iPad. Plus I'm sure I read somewhere that it's best to have some spare memory to enable it to run smoothly. With iPads, without expandable memory I'd go as big as you can afford.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Why would they add the last sentence on the page- some sort of a legal obligation? No idea but that's probably it.
Stadt Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Has anybody actually found anything worth getting?
MooseBreath Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 busy on oxford street You're in London? Wow we never knew.
MooseBreath Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 I'm pretty sure that anybody that already needs or even wants a tablet already has one. Stringer Bell logic aside, that's a great quote for a champagne socialist. Everyone who wants something just goes out and buys it affordability is never an issue.
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Is Black Friday the biggest sale until the next one? Ie Boxing Day, then the New Year etc? Or am I missing summat? Oh, and the people physically fighting over 'bargains'..get a fookin grip...
