Soares is joining Verona this week. Deal is done and dusted. Where we not linked with Omar Gonzalez of L.A Galaxy in the summer? He always impressed me when I saw him play for the USA, admittedly that was on only a few occasions. Could still be an attainable target for us? In the World Cup I thought the Americans had some impressive players on show, particularly in defence. I was impressed with Matt Besler of Sporting Kansas City and John Anthony Brooks of Hertha Berlin. They could both do a job for us and are relatively attainable. Both Gonzalez and Besler are 26 and 27 while Brooks has potential at 21 so are in a good age range for us all with top flight experience in the States and Germany. Besler just signed a new contract. Gonzalez is fairly decent. Brooks is the one to get. Would be set for years.

Cheers for the update, I didn't know Besler had signed a new deal but thought he looked decent at the world cup. I don't know as much about Gonzalez but just remember being linked with him in the summer. I agree with you on Brooks. I think he has the potential to become a top centre back. He looked very good at the world cup and already has a fair bit of club and international experience for his age. Hypothetically how attainable do you think he would be for us?

Haven't got a clue - The manager was annoyed with Brooks earlier in the season but that seems to have gone. Guess it depends on how long left on his contract.
