MJ27 Posted 5 December 2014 Posted 5 December 2014 Lee Marlow @LM_Marlow 4h4 hours agoEast Midlands, England So the LCFC players refusing to speak to Radio Leicester after the Villa game on Sunday? Interesting... Obviously the players are behind NP 100%. Although this is surely evident to even the most deluded fan. However it also shows just how out of line Stringer was to stir up this massive media storm against NP. It's been an embarrassment to the club this week. The players love NP, completely back him, making it even more pointless that there is consideration to sack him. As keeps getting said, tiny margins are separating us from picking up lots of points. We will get there. And if not, we enjoy the Championship with lots of matches and lots of wins, especially if NP is still in charge and the players he has bought still here.
Dan Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 It's funny how not bowing down to nobhead 'journos' is considered poor media handling. Pearson wins. In a really ****ed up way I think this whole spat with the 'fan' has actually done Pearson as much good as it has bad. Time to take it onto the pitch though. A small part of me thinks we'll sneak a win.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 It's only been an embarrassment to the club if you want to see it that way. Personally I think Stringer is the one who's had his image tarnished more than anyone else. Pearson's arguably come out of this better off than he started.
StanSP Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Goes to show how much backing Pearson has from his players. I like that. It's when you're at the lowest point (i.e. bottom of the league) that you need to remain unified and stick together and that's exactly what they are doing at the club.
sylofox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 I just hope Nige refuse to talk to him. Not a lot of point having a job then good riddance fvck off stringer. The BBC will have to look into this now. "Well at this point in the program we would normally talk to Nige and one of the players. But today we are going to play I Spy instead" Try some thing starting with P stringer P45 with your name on it lol
Ric Flair Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 This will galvanize the team, I'm glad it's happened. Die for the club!!!
Callabinho Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Haha I like the bit about elderly and children being present, so the next time modern classics such as "you're shit and you know you are" "you're shit ahhhh", "get into em' **** em' up" are harmonised within the king power, we are to issue an apology? Would love a "**** off and die chant"
MC Prussian Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Great stuff and wonderful to see that unity within the camp is alive and kicking. I also think that this should be a final warning to Stringer, forcing him to overcome his inhibition and maybe learn more about proper quality journalism, as demanded by the BBC.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Unity and galvanisation.... Let's hope the sound bites become translated into performances. God knows we've had enough talk about how we are going to be ok, how this experience is going to strengthen the resolve of the team.. And all that.. MC Prussian is a master of it. He's convinced Sunday is a three point away win. Now let's see it happen..a good performance and the result the team desperately needs.
paulsherwood1 Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Decent original post, although I totally disagree with the "enjoy the championship" bit. I hated it. We got stuck in the wilderness and there are lots of examples of how teams struggle when relegated, just look at this season. I'm sure when Fulham went down their fans assumed it would be a great season, not thinking about 5-0 home drubbings to Watford. The championship is the last place we can go. I am happy to support NP at the moment. However, if we are bottom after Christmas then the love of my club comes first, not loyalty to NP.

I'm behind the manager and the team. Whoever plays. Always have, always will be. But it's time for the talking to stop and the playing well to start. Getting something tomorrow is imperative. The run after that is very difficult. It's time to perform, Leicester City.

"We got stuck in the wilderness" thanks to financial turmoil and bad management, something we're trying to get away from with the current owners (just looking back at the past two years with Pearson). Harsh on Fulham to use the 5-0 drubbing by Watford as a good example - they were a man down pretty early on in the game, so it's not representative as a case in point against relegated teams, but more an advert for the Championship and its unpredictability. And as for "the Championship is the last place we can go": There's always League One. Remember, remember...

I take your point on the 5-0 being harsh, but Derby thrashed them 5-2, they drew with Blackpool and lost to millwall and blackburn, all at home. Also, who is to say that the owners would carry on ploughing cash into a championship team? It's quite possible that we could face our own financial oblivion again. Everyone also assumes the current crop of players would stay with us if we went down. No chance. It would be a major rebuild yet again. I am not going to blindly follow NP into oblivion.

I doubt that, can't see many teams queuing up to take players from us should we go down when nobody is standing out.
Tuna Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Stringer has been out of order ever since the QPR game, his reporting and interviews have been frankly embarrassing and he deserves what he gets.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 I doubt that, can't see many teams queuing up to take players from us should we go down when nobody is standing out. If you are really saying that none of the Prem sides would take any of our players, should we go down, it shows how poor this squad must currently be at this level. Any Prem squad should have a handful of players who you KNOW would get into other sides if it all went pair shaped. Your point, though probably right, is quite damning.

Not really, it means that most other teams, the established ones in particular, have too much quality in their ranks (bought over the course of several years) compared to ours. But that comes with their annual turnover, massive financial backing and regular TV rights money flocking in, as well. Or which Burnley players would walk into other teams' first squad straightaway?
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 This sort of siege mentality is great, hopefully it transfers into the stands too. The abusers will find it very difficult if their shite is being drowned out by some cracking noise supporting Nigel and the boys.
Raj Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Be great if all you going villa give a rendition of there's only one Nigel Pearson...just to let people know!!!!

Your point, though probably right, is quite damning. it's funny you say that, because over the last couple of years I can remember various threads were people were panicking about losing players to premiership teams; moore, schmeichel, knockaert, mahrez, drinkwater, james even schlupp - remember all the "hiding" threads? it's funny how a bit of bad form can change some doommongers opinions.

I was replying to Miquel's post. I think he made a pretty valid point. That's not doom-mongering, that's responding to a valid point. If you want to see it as doom-mongering, that's your issue, not mine.
