FA Cup Third Round Draw - Newcastle @ home

Momentum is usually the word often shouted out and discussed in all sports.

All players love the chance of being involved in a cup run,...change as good as a rest , and all that.

Use Mahrez and Schlupp before they go.Yes try a couple of fringe players, but not wholesale changes.

The players have started to show with improved results and improved performances, their loyalty to NP is slowly paying off. But and again another but thrown in for 'the time of thought'. This so called momentum is not 5 games old, the 'us against them' has not yet gained pace.

Pearsons quest has just started, but he should use the cup, not to experiment but to hone and improve on this period of improved performances.Using Newcastles fight up the table has a good example, to his own squad.

If we go out too early, then the tactical tweeks and player inclusions brings us nothing.

Hammond stays IMO he wont get tired and holds the midfield to allow our forward thinking players to do their job.

Mahrez + Schlupp can give us a fillip a great boost before they go.We may have just stumbled on the team and character of this seasons successfull survival-rest-campagne.Something has just started to click , dont kill it just has it starts to bloom.

The FA cup gives extra adrenelin to the same players, rest is not in their make-up NOW at this

time of the season...its a British thing.

Subs: Development squad

Just for the craic on forum banter, I would keep Simpson and De Laet at fullbacks.

Changes will need to be made anyway given the nature of the fixture list (which is absolutely berserk) but I don't want us to throw this game. I've no doubt it'll be two significantly weakened teams though even though neglecting the cup in favour of focusing on survival is proven to be a myth.

Devils advocate rather than proponent of the myth, but Wigan would be the ultimate evidence that the myth does in fact exist in some form.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, shame there is no early game to enjoy in the pub before though.

Hearts vs Hibs mate. Top Scottish football entertainment.

Hearts vs Hibs mate. Top Scottish football entertainment.

500 supporter,2 dogs, the local drunk, manje cat, and the chairmans boozer and golf friends, just scrape a thousand, if

another dogwalker crosses the field.

Last 20 years a big loss of talent moving south having great careers, Scottish football has lost its heroes.Shame.

Even their Foreign buys often cant cut it.

That said glad to see Hearts holding their own, but with a 2-3rd league quality, their great byegone days will stay in history.

Scotlands young talent building has vanished, Beware, take note !! The PL.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing NP play some of the players that haven't seen much game time, get them out there ready for next week at Villa, a win would be a great confidence boost however a loss isn't the end of the world as league takes priority at the minute!

Would like to see Lawrence and Albrighton given a chance, he's been criticised but hasn't really played many minutes and I'm sure there's a decent player there when he's got some confidence!

As many have said would rather a win or loss than a draw though

I'd put out mostly our first XI, we need to get our AFCON replacements up to speed.

                                     Smith

Simpson        Wasilevski      Morgan        De Laet/Koncheskey? (whichever Nigel thinks should be first choice)

Albrighton     Hammond      Cambiasso    Knockeart/Lawrence?

                                 Nugent/Lawrence/Knockeart?

                                                Ulloa/Wood?

Bench: Hamer, De Laet/Koncheskey, Moore, James, Nugent/Lawrence/Knockeart, Vardy, Ulloa/Wood

Probably wouldn't risk Hamer. Other selections depending on fitness and how Nigel intends to play them. Not sure if Lawrence is going to be played on the wing or in the "Nugent" role. Same with Knockeart. Not sure if De Laet at left back will be permanent.

I'm on an 'all-dayer' in Central London tomorrow (going to the darts). Does anyone know any places in Central London that are likely to show our FA Cup game?

I think we should play a strong team and try to keep the good form going.

If we play like we did against Liverpool we should get a win.

Hoping we have turned our form around after the last two games.

Do you think we will go for it or will we play a side likely to lose so that we aren't distracted from the league - Followed by a statement saying we didnt want to be knocked out.
