chapero82 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 I think Nige needs to communicate with the local radio station, who in turn need to supply a different interviewer. It should not be that hard to fix Pearson wouod speak to another person according to reports just not stringer which stringer more or less said tonight
Spanner73 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 The fans want to know answers to questions , and he should Come out and explain his team selection for Saturday and why did he make those decisions because everyone is baffled !
KFS Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 We win= this is a non issue. We lose= people resurrect this claiming that "we need answers".
Guest Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 The fans want to know answers to questions , and he should Come out and explain his team selection for Saturday and why did he make those decisions because everyone is baffled ! Alright Stringer, give it a rest
The Horse's Mouth Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 I enjoy nige the most when he has RL listeners pissed off.
LCCFox96 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 The fans want to know answers to questions , and he should Come out and explain his team selection for Saturday and why did he make those decisions because everyone is baffled ! Oh please, he's not going to explain the shortcomings of his tactical plans live on the radio is he? He could have given an interview post match on Saturday and you would still be waiting for an answer to that question.
Spanner73 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 I enjoy nige the most when he has RL listeners pissed off. Even if it means us going down
Aus Fox Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 The fans want to know answers to questions , and he should Come out and explain his team selection for Saturday and why did he make those decisions because everyone is baffled ! 4 cough and die
Spanner73 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 The man is deluded , he drops Albrighton and Ulloa when over 70% of our goals have come from crosses their most important player in my opinion is shawcross and he's out !! Fook me what a chance we had to win the game it's for these reasons he should give answers too , and you still back the guy up ? Give me a break the mans out of his depth !
Spanner73 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 [quote name="Aus Fox" post="3274936" timestamp="1421697732" 4 cough and die Why don't you , ****
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 He's got every right to refuse interviews. It is up to him.
AKCJ Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Trouble is that there are some right bell ends that support Leicester. The kind that would only think to ring the radio station to complain and 'ask for answers' even when they're particularly ****ing obvious. Nigel played the side that he thought would win the game on Saturday. Simple. Sick of people trying to stir stuff up, hiding behind Stringer as though he's some ambassador for the stupid. The callers need to get a grip and think "is it worth it?". The man is deluded , he drops Albrighton and Ulloa when over 70% of our goals have come from crosses their most important player in my opinion is shawcross and he's out !! Fook me what a chance we had to win the game it's for these reasons he should give answers too , and you still back the guy up ? Give me a break the mans out of his depth ! "Spanner". Very apt.
Buce Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 I think he doesn't like the fact that for instance stringer would ask about his poor team selection on Saturday so he goes for the cowards way out , half of leicestershire can't work the guy out or his methods ! Spanner.
Spanner73 Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 It's a shame that we're having a good honest debate and whether you agree or disagree with comments there's no reason for people to use comments as above AUS FOX ! Disgraceful
Aus Fox Posted 19 January 2015 Posted 19 January 2015 Bit of a joke mate, based on Pearsons previous comments! Don't take things so seriously!
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Baffling to hear Ian on the forum say he doesn't know why the players won't speak to RL or why NP won't speak to Ian or why Ian is banned from pre match press conferences. From what I understand, the club have made things fairly clear to them. RL have decided, as is their right, not to get someone else to interview the manager. Pearson will speak to RL, just not Ian. Why didn't he say on air: "Yes, the manager and players have a problem with me but BBC management have taken the decision not to use someone else to conduct post match interviews." Then fans would know that RL are turning down the opportunity of hearing the manager. But that, of course, wouldn't reflect desperately well on the station. Ian seemingly hasn't worked out why or how he's rubbed the manager, the players and the club up the wrong way over a period of years with his commentaries, interview technique, general attitude etc. The BBC deserve some blame too for not nipping things in the bud earlier. They should've been advising him where he was going wrong. How do they resolve the situation? Here's what I would do... The BBC should bite the bullet and get someone other than Ian (in the short term at least) to do the post match interview. It reconnects the club and the station and if the relationship thaws over a period of time, then perhaps LCFC media staff will ask the players to speak to RL again, even if it's not with Ian. That way, the fans get to hear the interviews and RL get their own content. And then, perhaps over time, Ian will be brought back into the interviewing fold. Are the BBC bosses suggesting that only Ian can ask the necessary questions? If so, then that's a damning indictment on Jason. [by the way, BBC R Derby and BBC R Nottm get their presenter to conduct the post game interviews, rather than the commentator.] Jason, however, hasn't helped himself (IMHO) by getting swayed down the route of Ian's broadcasting style, despite private advice from people trying to help him. RL have seriously misjudged the situation this season, they've got themselves into a mess of their own making. They can help remedy the situation but are choosing not to, which is up to them. Saddens me enormously as I have a lot of love and affection for the station for obvious reasons. Hope it gets sorted. PS. If the club and/or RL are reading this… I am available for mediation in this matter. Free of charge, naturally Regards, Mr Random Kofi Annan Silly
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 PPS. Not sure Ian's comment on last night's forum about the FA Cup tie at Spurs - "A game you'd expect City to lose, let's be right." - was particularly helpful given the current situation. Matt Elliott's reaction was one of surprise at what Ian said. edit: Ian subsequently added: "When I said you'd expect them to suffer defeat I meant on the formbook, I didn't mean individually." Even so, given how people at the club view Ian, it won't do himself many favours.
ozleicester Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Grow up BBC, Grow up Pearson. I dont care how its fixed, just sort it out so i can hear what NP has to say. I dont get the mercury, i dont hear 5 live or much of talksport. Leicester are on the brink of relegation and petty bickering by two children incapable of acting professionally toward each other means my information is restricted. Stinger YOU are NOT Leicester City.... Pearson YOU are NOT Leicester City either get out in the playground and slap each other while a circle of gumbies stand around shouting "fight fight fight"... or... get a rubbish bin and throw it at each other.... or... just grow the fvck up for crying out loud
SeattleShane Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 We win= this is a non issue. We lose= people resurrect this claiming that "we need answers". Silly post
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Pearson is just an arrogant tw.t in my opinion. He honestly believes he's above it all. Getting really tired of his attitude and managerial negativity
MC Prussian Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Pearson is just an arrogant tw.t in my opinion. He honestly believes he's above it all. Getting really tired of his attitude and managerial negativity How much did these three sentences cost you? Did you get a discount?
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 If I am foolish enought to listen to Stringer et al for away match coverage I always turn off after the game when it is clear there is no interview. I'd rather lick my own arse than listen to Mick from Coalville and Jan from Ratby.
ElusiveEd Posted 20 January 2015 Posted 20 January 2015 Thing is, LCFC do not own RL and cannot and should not be allowed to dictate who should and should not do the interviews. If NP cannot handle the media questioning in times of dire performances/team selection/tactics then he's in the wrong job. The huge support, air time and coverage RL gave to LCFC when we got promoted last year was lapped up by the club. That came from Stringer and was very much welcomed. Apparently, this seasons listening figured for everything from the games to the Phone-In and the Boot Room are at an all time high, so Ian et-al are obviously doing something right. They cannot dictate how the BBC/RL run their company and policies. Yes, I think there is room to give on both side but I see it as NP and his arrogance as the sticking point that is not allowing this stalemate to be broken. At best or worst this is a clash of personalities that has surfaced and, as much as the Stringer haters on here are yet again using this to batter him, this is more of NP's doing IMHO than it is Ian's It's all well and good people Like Mr Random Silly calling for other RL employees doing the interviews but look back at how NP treated Mike McCarthy when he did the post match one earlier in the season (Think it was the game where Ian was in Japan raising thousands of pounds for the Leicester Royal Infirmary still born unit). How NP treated MMc was disgraceful. It was his first ever post match interview with NP and completely uncalled for. People bashing Ian Stringer saying it's all his fault are very much wide of the mark IMO. NP needs to grow up and realise that it isn't just on the pitch where you are scrutinised and answerable more in the Prem than you are in the Championship, it's all other aspects of being a manager and club. If he can't handle the heat without throwing his toys out of the pram when things ain't going his way, then, like I said, he's in the wrong job.
