DeclanMC Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Never nice to see someone losing their job, but this is great news for the club IMO. Pelle/Cresswell both missed targets during the summer and both have been in great form this season so far. I imagine Nigel will be pleased too.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 I heard a rumour that it wasn't Nige who was after fans favourite Cambiasso? Is that correct?
Leicesterpool Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Was a poor summer of signings, it'll be great though to know Pearson will be in full charge of the transfers come january.
Harry - LCFC Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Will this mean we'll be a bit spendy in January?
nettle Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 I heard a rumour that it wasn't Nige who was after fans favourite Cambiasso? Is that correct? One for the owners I think.
RowlattsFox Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 The worrying thing is how much say Nige had on our summer transfers. Is he unhappy with what we missed out on or is he unhappy about the ones we did bring in? Probably a bit of both.

Pelle/Cresswell both missed targets during the summer and both have been in great form this season so far. I imagine Nigel will be pleased too. we never stood a chance with Pelle. as soon as Koeman and Southampton shown interest etc he was going to go there given the fact they worked together at Feyenoord.
lcfcsnow Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 What if it was he who stopped us paying crazy money for Deeney/McGoldrick.. shouldn't we be thankful?
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Stringer stirring S**t on twitter by saying terry Robinson has left the club yet all good sources like sky sports, daily mail, telegraph, john percy have stated he's been sacked, what a melt
rico Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 What if it was he who stopped us paying crazy money for Deeney/McGoldrick.. shouldn't we be thankful? What if it was Robinson who wanted to sign them?
Harry - LCFC Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 What if it was he who stopped us paying crazy money for Deeney/McGoldrick.. shouldn't we be thankful? Very difficult to know who was responsible for the various decisions made in summer. All we do know is the the owners probably aren't happy with Robinson's.
StanSP Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Huge statement of support for Pearson from the owners. This. And I'm bloody glad for it. I wonder if Nigel will get his own way in January. I wonder who he already has in mind.
cc_star Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Easier said than done. We are probably going to get crucified as a buying club in January. It's a seller's market.Remember the summer prices quoted for Deeney, McGoldrick etc? Think of a number add a zero and treble it
Gary Eatfood Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 This. And I'm bloody glad for it. I wonder if Nigel will get his own way in January. I wonder who he already has in mind. Whoever they are they're going to have to make an immediate impact. No time to settle in now.
CosbehFox Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 We will never what happened so can't comment on the summers dealings. However my impression (particularly from the racism claims) was that he was bit of a dinosaur.
Craig Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Clearly shows where the owners believe the blame lies, and they'd know.
cc_star Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 What if it was he who stopped us paying crazy money for Deeney/McGoldrick.. shouldn't we be thankful?Thankful we never landed the second forward we so desperately need?Let's get a Terry Robinson statue outside the KP
Cropwellfox Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 There had to be a sacrificial lamb after these last two months and the fact we look weaker than we did last season compared to QPR and Burnley. Clearly owners have more loyalty to Pearson than Robinson. What a wasted season this threatens to be. Interesting if we do keep on losing that Robinsons presence would likely have kept Pulis from working here if we did decide to change manager.
LCFC FOX Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 What if it was he who stopped us paying crazy money for Deeney/McGoldrick.. shouldn't we be thankful? or it Robinson who was putting in the ridiculous bids for them. i bet the owners have seen the form of some of the players Pearson wanted and gone against Robinson for not paying the fees and wages. I can us more than likely going for Vietto, Naughton and the other foreign signings now
teblin Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 I heard a rumour that it wasn't Nige who was after fans favourite Cambiasso? Is that correct? He wouldn't be playing if that was the case!
CosbehFox Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 I heard a rumour that it wasn't Nige who was after fans favourite Cambiasso? Is that correct? The quotes and article with Steve Walsh before the Chelsea game certainly confirmed that deal was led by the management. We were following him as early as March. One of the biggest tactics the current scouting team has is tracking players contracts due to expire. We begin in a good negotiating position if a players contract is in its last year.
DeclanMC Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 we never stood a chance with Pelle. as soon as Koeman and Southampton shown interest etc he was going to go there given the fact they worked together at Feyenoord. Fair point. Does this mean that Terry Robinson was operating off his own back and not going through Nige/the scouting team? Signing players like Simpson, Powell and Lawrence?
jimmeh Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 No ones looking at the bigger picture then. Pulis worked with robinson at Stoke and may not wish to again.
CosbehFox Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 No ones looking at the bigger picture then. Pulis worked with robinson at Stoke and may not wish to again. There's little to suggest Pulis and Robinson ever had much dealings at Stoke. Robinson looked after the academy, something which Pulis has never had time for.
MC Prussian Posted 14 December 2014 Posted 14 December 2014 Reckon we're in for a busy January We'll certainly have one more signing to take care of now, that's for sure! Surprising move by the owners, but a great vote of confidence in favour of Pearson. Personally, I'm very pleased about this and the trust the consortium put in our manager and hopefully, it'll act as a starting point for our rise up the table.
