Has anyone done Krakow. Looking at a quick in and out there but will only have two full days. Don't want to go to Auschwitz or the salt mines, is the city itself doable in two days?

Salt mine is the best tourist attraction I’ve ever been to. If you’re dead set against it two days is plenty, surprisingly small

My mate went a couple of weeks back for 2 days and had a great time just in the city.

Top class place. The main square and surrounding areas are fantastic.

Similar to what others have said. I did it in 3 days and loved it, did the salt mines as well and I’d always recommend that.

Class Polish vodka bar on the corner of the main square as well.

Old Town and Kazimierz are both very different but both enjoyable for different reasons, without sounding full hipster I preferred Kazimierz by the end of it though Old Town is very nice. Ogniem restaurant is good in Stare Podgorze for Polish food if you can be arsed walking there.

If you want a bit of war history without Auschwitz then try a walking tour or Schlinders Factory.

Great city to visit. Very walkable, not a huge place.
As previously mentioned, Kazimierz (Jewish quarter), is definitely worth a visit. Very historical & not too busy. Check out a wonderful bar, Hevré. Still has wallpaper, dating back pre WW2. 2 days is doable. Enjoy.

You should defo do Auschwitz, it’s a must see for every person in the world. If you’re not doing that then two days is more than enough

Going to Tetouan in Morocco for a couple of days next month. Morocco is our new favourite place for a short break, amazing people, food and architecture, and super cheap and short flights for us, really looking forward to it.

I've booked 3 lots of accommodation in Toronto and had all 3 cancelled a while later. All through Booking. Com.

I'm starting to take it personally and that Toronto isn't keen on me visiting...

Would love to do a big trip through north Africa. Always dreamt of a Casablanca - Cairo trip. Should've done it when I lived in Sicily before all the problems in Libya.

I'd always recommend Sicily. Lots of very interesting history and culture. East Coast is quite popular, Taormina in particular is a bit of a tourist trap now though still beautiful. I lived in Palermo which is an amazing city but quite overrun by the air bnb crowds now unfortunately. I love the west coast, parts of it feel very remote and there are some glorious beaches and islands.

Puglia also has a lot of medieval sites and especially further south it's quite easy to find pretty secluded stretches of very beautiful coastline

One region I really want to explore is Basilicata which I've only ever been through on the train. Has miles of very under developed coast and some quite wild mountainous parts in the interior.

Only done 4 nights in Sicily but loved it. As above, Palermo is a brilliant city.

Went to Cefalu as well which was really nice. Would love to go back for a couple of weeks and see more of it.

Really looking forward to a trip to Sicily with my daughter in 3 weeks time. Flying to Naples and staying in Salerno for a couple of nights, will visit Pompeii before travelling by train down the west coast of Italy to Taormina. 4 nights in Taormina and then fly back from Catania. 🇮🇹

Indeed and no explanation given. We're not travelling until next may so it can't be a sudden issue. 4th booked now, unfortunately not now in the area we wanted and fingers crossed. Look forward to hearing about your visit.

Long weekend booked for Liverpool in Nov.

Anyone recommend restaurants that are child-friendly?

Will be booking most of the museums there (British Music, World, Beatles) and anything else that anyone feels worthwhile to suggest!

Next May is a long long time away, possibly that? The f1 has also moved to a May slot, that is in Montreal but they might be anticipating more passing tourists hence hold rooms to sell at a higher price nearer the time.

I know Montreal is impossible on f1 weekend, I tried to go when I worked in the US and the city is virtually full on race weekend.

Going solo to Rome end of next month for a few days. Can anyone recommend any decent vantage points to see the skyline or whatever else?

Without this sounding exceptionally obvious.... but the view from the Top of St Peters Basilica is very very hard to beat in Rome.  It's well worth the walk up and it gives you views out over everything in the city.

I think you have to pre-purchase a ticket these days, so that's definitely worth doing.

Rome is probably my favourite city in the world... especially for just ambling around and stumbling on things... but do have a little bit of a plan and do spend time in places like Trastavere as well as the main city itself.  It has a really different feel and is very good in the evenings for a more relaxed but still great atmosphere.   It's a lovely walk along the River to get there as well.

In fact... if I had ONE piece of advice for Rome.... Ignore public transport... just walk everywhere. literally everywhere.   You will miss so much of the city if you are on a bus or a tram.

Explore the alleyways and side streets that seemingly go nowhere and you'll have an amazing time!

We did Air BnB in Toronto and got an amazing apartment looking over the CN Tower and the Blue Jays Stadium.

Have you thought about looking at that route?

I'm sure it goes without saying.... but if you are visiting Toronto you 100% HAVE to visit Niagara Falls. It's a real spectacle.

The bars certainly are.

Sanskruti is child friendly and decent Indian restaurant.

Western Approaches museum is interesting if you're into WWII stuff. But children would be better in World museum or Museum of Liverpool. Anfield or new Everton stadium tour.
