Villa Pre Match Thread

Get a room you two this love is gettin silly!!!

Villa are crap-Lets destroy them with attack attack attack attack attack!!!!

p.s Hamer has been more than an adequate replacement for Kasper .

Schwarzer is great cover though...

P.s Do we lose mahrez n schlupp now?

Villa maybe a poor side, but they have pace and a counter attack style of play suits them, so if we go out all guns blazing and attack, chances are they will get chances to break and destroy our snail paced defence.

Best to keep it tight, frustrate them and then take any chances we get.

Big game but not season defining by any means.

Are other teams getting worse? Or are we getting better? Tottenham, Hull, Newcastle, Liverpool all lòoked lacking in cutting edge. Too much coincidence for it to not be us improving. We are getting harder to play against.

4411 seems to be the way to go, so that we make the most of our wingers and depleted midfield.

Hamer

Simpson, Moore, Morgan, Konch

Albrighton, James, Drinkwater, Lawrence

Nugent, Vardy

Subs

I would be happy with Hammond or King starting if Drinkwater not fit.

No point in drawing, we need to go for it.

Would be a crucial game to win all the more since Burnley play qpr and wba play Hull on the same day. Win this and it's likely a win over Stoke could pull us out of the relegation zone.

If we hope to stay up I'd say this is one of the game we'd ideally be taking maximum points from. Not a must win as there a tonne of games coming up, but it certainly makes our lives easier if we take 3 from this one.

Feels weird having to wait a whole week for a game after the 8 days we've just had!

Thought Moore was superb today and Konchesky wasn't. I'd feel more comfortable with De Laet at LB.

So you drop our best performing CB for him?

Well I did mean Wasilewski. Not sure how anyone could drop Wasilewski at the moment.

lol yeah I know.

In all seriousness, I thought he really struggled with Agbonlahor at Villa Park and (I think) that lead to their 2nd goal.

Fair enough but then again Moore completely left his man for their first goal as well. Basically, we need better defenders  lol

A 2-0 win and a red card for Hutton would do nicely, snapping as he gets wound up by my constant insults, "Hutton, your international career reminds me of a pantomime",

"You mean I'm Prince Charming ?"

"No- It's behind you!"

Biggest game of the season so far for me.

Simply must win this one.

One could say Villa is our biggest game for several years given the possibilities if we win. Hope as a crowd we can rediscover our early season form, particularly the way we got behind the team when we conceded in those early games

Didn't see the game today, how was Konchesky?

Noone seems to have picked this up yet, but their "scorer" was a yard onside, courtesy of Konch being caught loitering well behind our defensive line. Watch the replay. How anyone can persist with him over De Last in our lineup is a mystery to me.

As for Hamer, how can anyone resist the "coincidence" of clean sheets and defensive confidence when he plays?

During his time at Leeds United Mark formed a formidable strike partnership with fellow loanee Wayne Andrews, a friendship which continued off the pitch. In 2013 Mark and Wayne opened a paper shop in the town of Pontefract which features a picture of the pair on the frontage. The shop slogan of "we always deliver" references an interview Mark gave after his famous goal against Yeovil.

Surely not true. Good old mark de vries

Anybody else at right back but De laet, I'm sick to death of watching his horrendous positioning and shit distribution, he's absoultely wank in every sense of the word, Simpson's not brilliant but he's ever so slightly better than De Laet.
