Nearly a fiver a pint, it was a little steep, but the food was half price so I could live with it.

Get it at spoons for 2.69 in most locations. Scandalous, really.

The food any good?

The food was really good, not much choice, mainly burgers and meat. A bit dearer than what you'd pay for an Indian or Chinese.

Yes, they were turning people away who hadn't booked.

Can't go wrong with burger and meat really. Though the Indian restaurants are a winner for me.

You ever try grill stock when it was open?

No, I don't know that place. My normal going out for a meal is usually an Indian,.I'm just trying a few places out while it's half price.

Their philly cheese steak was awesome.

If I remember I think another location survived but they shut down overnight in the arcade, didn't they?

Just checked. The whole group has air shut down. What a blow.

Meatcure was better than grillstock. Hate the chipboard look that permeated every new chain gaff that popped up 2010-14 though

Meatcure was half decent but felt temporary to me, seemed like every fixture and fitting had been done the cheapest way possible and they seemed to crumble the moment they had more than three tables in

Any recommendations for anywhere that’s likely not to be fully booked up on Wednesday? Preferably in the county rather than town

A trip out to Oakham? Lord Nelson…

They don’t book tables so you need to get there for 6pm

Is the MORE restaurant nice on London Road?

If you like self service food, yes. I didn't really enjoy it last time I went, but it was a while ago. It does everything just OK, nothing stands out. It's cheap and cheerful enough though.

Anyone got a pizza from Maurizio’s near Narborough Rd? Very authentic Italian pizzas, they do eat in on the scheme as well.

I ordered a delivery and you have to text him which is very random, even more so when he then tried to add me on Facebook. Last time I ordered anything I could eat via that method I ended up thinking I was a cloud but that’s another story.
