Guest MattP Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 No not Andy King. To the DT's, seen it alls etc who last week said the 'pro Pearson' lot had vanished. Well we're still here. I'd be delighted if Pearson was here for the rest of my life, he runs a football club in every way I love, from the morals of the players, the attitude of those wear the badge to the fiscal stability to the football club. Has he made mistakes? Yes. That's what people do. Give me someone you think better? No thanks.
theessexfox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Yeah same, for example the attitude he has always displayed in the media, e.g. rarely criticising the referee, protecting his players, refusing to speculate about players of other clubs, is commendable and something you don't see from too many managers. His side is underperforming but if you could design an ideal manager for a club like ours, many of Pearson's qualities would be included.
Max Power Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Thats funny my ideal football manager wins football matches. I care about little else. "Morals of the players"
Ross-Kemp Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Pearson needs to stay. If we get relegated, so what. Parachute payments, a learning curve for the majority of the squad who are quite young and also for big Nige. People need to stop being fickle and remember the wonders that he has done for this football club.
Mark_w Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Nobody on the internet has polarized me more effectively than you Matt. I just don't know whether I should love or hate you at this point, but great post.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Sign me up. I'm so pro Pearson and so disgusted by people slating Pearson and wanting him out, that I've spent a good portion of my Saturday evening on this forum.... We're having a bad season - he has made mistakes. Sometimes I've been upset by our performances. However, we are only in the position to be upset at being the 20th best team in the country because of the stellar work he's done at this club. Keep the Feckng Faith.

I honestly think some people would like us to risk bankruptcy to try and stay up which is just plain stupid.

Just because we have pictures of Nigel in his sparkly white Reebok Classics on our walls that we bow to 3x a day and thank him for the life we live doesn't mean we are obsessed with Sir Nigel savour of man Pearson.

I do hope you're aged 99 in that case The club isn't fiscally stable, the owners are and that is **** all to do with Pearson. We, just like QPR, financially doped our way out of the Championship. Blind loyalty is not an admirable quality I have no desire to see Pearson sacked but equally I have no desire to see him remain here for time immemorial

Just when I thought that I hated you, after reading your General Chat contributions......I realise that I still love you after all! There's only one Nigel Pearson!!! (and I really do think that there probably is only one of him - how many managers would know the meaning of the word "ethics", I wonder?) I suspect that today was the day that sealed our fate re. relegation (though I'd never bet against NP inspiring a team to a miraculous escape) but, if so, I hope that NP is the man who brings us back up next season. All the shallow whingers can fvck right off!
Larry_LCFC Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I genuinely cannot understand how people can defend the man, when he consistently makes the same mistakes week in week out. He doesn't know what his best squad is and his tactics are totally inept for the Premier League. We are rock bottom and we look poor against the likes of Palace. We are in an absolutely dire situation and all Pearson is interested in is holding grudges with radio stations, getting into spats with fans and now opposition players. What morals are you referring to exactly? Ive given Pearson more than enough chances to prove himself. We can barely scrape an occasional point. He will relegate us. Get rid.

Has he made mistakes? Yes. That's what people do. Give me someone you think better? No thanks. The fact that such abject nonsense has so many 'plus ones' is embarrassing. You'd be 'delighted' if Pearson was here for the rest of your life? On what grounds? Because he's a good lower league manager? It can't be because he's any good at this level and, at the end of the day, that's surely our ambition. What if we don't come up next season or the season after that? What if we do and he shows yet again that he's not up to scratch? You'll still be saying he's your man, will you? Or maybe our ambition isn't to be a Premier League club. Either way, too much of this seems to boil down to people either not minding us being a second tier club, which is the sort of mentality I'd expect from a Blackpool fan, or just thinking Nige is a pretty decent bloke and perhaps wanting to hang out with him sometime. It certainly isn't based on how well he does his job at the level we want to stay at. And I'm amazed at the emotion in the posts from Pearson's most ardent supporters. The posters haven't vanished but the rationality clearly has. Some people have become more fervent, more unmoveable in wanting Pearson to remain as manager, than they are in the supporting of their club. And that, for me, was the moment that it made sense to want Pearson Out. That and the fact that he's clearly appallingly bad at this level.
separator Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Even if we do get relegated there is no other man I'd want managing us in the Championship, its been a learning curve for NP & the players. Stability and a good team attitude will prevail, if its not this season then our time will come soon. Anyway, this season ain't finished yet. There's still time
Sharpe's Fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Nigel runs this club properly, and it's because of that we are 3 points away from being a Premier League side next season. Come what may I hope I can still be proud of my club for a while because of Nige (which is more than Forest can say).
inckley fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Spot on. We have no divine right to stay up. I honestly think some people would like us to risk bankruptcy to try and stay up which is just plain stupid. What on earth has divine rights got to do with anything? Nobody thinks we have a divine right to stay up, they want our management and players to earn it. The fact that they're not at the moment is what annoys them. And most people who criticise Pearson wouldn't have dreamt of spending half of our season's transfer budget on one player if we weren't sure they'd be improving our starting eleven, so the bankruptcy point is nonsense.
Raj Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 He's done great for this club last few years but So has the club for him. Lets not hide the fact that this season has been an embarrassment and he knew in April we were going up and never built when we were in.a great position to. I won't hammer or boo him but i won't be singing one Nigel Pearson when(if) we get relegated either. Up The City!
