Nigel Pearson remains First Team Manager

Equally there are people who seem to have loyalty to the man despite any wrong doing or poor form.

Last night I was reading posts about people not going anymore in protest, boycotting the club, wearing Pearson masks at the unveiling of the new boss.

Bizarre that he has such a split in the fans to such an extreme.

I would describe myself as loyal to Pearson, most of his players and the principles he has used to guide us to the premiership, and would have been very disappointed if last night's claim had reared true for sure. But wearing an ex manager's mask at later games or boycotting helps nobody. Love of the club must prevail at the end of any manager's reign, good or bad, but until then I will support Pearson.

I've no doubt that the incident has caused disquiet with the owners.  They have heavily invested in the club and any perceived disgrace brought upon the club may be viewed as reflected upon them.  Whilst we in the UK may not even consider this the audience in the Far East may be different.  Your standing and respect in the community are considered important there and the owners may not wish to have their reputations damaged by association.

I would expect NP to be on a 'final warning'.  Any further incidents which reflect badly on him could result in his dismissal, regardless of performances on the pitch.

Last night was just bizarre.

Even I had under - estimated the apparent love that so many on here seem to have for a football manager. Apparently some grown men had even been crying? Seriously? Jesus...

Anyway, enough of this side-show. Back to what really matters. Getting points on the Board.

I see this morning we are now bookies faves to go down. Joint with Burnley and QPR.

Let's prove em wrong..

Steve Guppy on the raidio this morning saying that he doesn't know what's going on and that we're creating chances on the pitch so still in with a shot of staying up and players back pearson. Would be more worried if players were not creating chances etc.

dozed off when i got home at 6pm last night. Woke up at 2330 to find a barrage of new pearson threads! mental.

Up and at em. On to the next one! That's what the team needs from the fans right now. Another performance like that of Arsenal at home and we've every chance of knicking something at their place. Keep the faith.

I entirely agree Col.

(Trying to be as objective as I can be given my opinion) Rob Tanner's view is not too dissimilar to what the Guardian have printed - SOMETHING happened yesterday that lead Sky to report what it did, there clearly could not have been. Almost reminds me a bit of the Leeds farce re: McDermott. I think this one isn't a forgone conclusion and may be a smokescreen/vote of confidence moment.

Where I will agree with the Pearson-In people (for once) is it would have been a stupid time to do it ahead of Tuesday. Wait till after then/the cup.

This is the beginning of the end, all is not right and our inevitable relegation won't give him a reprieve because he got us up last season. The sparkle has gone, by keeping him temporarily the only people who this effects is the fans. Nigel will get a cushty pay off and we're left with a new regime when it's too late to have a go at staying up. It's possibly too late now, you'd want a new man to have a trasnfer window to make some changes but I still think i'd rather the inevitable happen now with 15 games left than in another few weeks when there's even more doom and gloom.

Good post Robin

Honestly all we (our entire fanbase) are after is a competitive and hopefully winning team to support

Exactly we should only sack NP for a better manager that is the way it should be.

Not too many options out their who are better, MON would be imo. (But he won't come!)

So if it was one of our backroom staff who let this slip, i've an inkling I know who that would be. Kevin Phillips is quite vocal in the media about things that Nigel wouldn't be as free to talk about. He's regularly quoted in the media and if the backroom staff were told yesterday that the end was near then perhaps Kev couldn't keep his trap shut?

he could be here another 5 years and he'll still be playing fvcking Paul Konchesky at left back.

I've lost faith that we'll stay up this season due to his inept tactics, he needs to stop focusing on what other teams could do to us and have some faith in our attacking talent.

Our defence is a shambles anyway, any park-the-bus / sitting back is just suicide.

Whether or not he should be sacked (I'm still torn, I do think he'd out of his depth but see little benefit in doing it now) what I really hope doesn't happen is that we sack him over the next few weeks, amongst that awful run of away fixtures that we have. If the owners feel that could happen, then do it now and stop all this messing about.

If there were doubts over him, he should have gone in December. That didn't happen and seeing as there's no decent alternatives, we either get rid now and risk it or we give him the season, nothing in between.

Fact was, both he and his assistants believed he's been sacked last night, whatever club statement says http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/feb/08/nigel-pearson-sacked-leicester-james-mcarthur-incident

Would it be a possibility that they reluctantly made the decision to sack him, it got leaked and then they backtracked after seeing the reaction of the fans?

Sounds like his job is in serious jeopardy. Hardly going to improve, barring a miracle at the Emirates, Goodison or Etihad, so we might as well get rid now if that's the case.

The Guardian seem utterly desperate for him to be sacked.

Every other media outlet has backtracked after the club statement, accepting that they got it wrong.

But the Guardian's journalists keep tweeting shit like above. As if it matters.

He's still Leicester manager, you all dropped a bollock over it.

On paper Arsenal looks the toughest game, hopefully last nights events will carry the team through to a positive result. We can get something at Goodison, a win there is not beyond us and if the likes of Hull, Stoke and Burnley can go to the Eithad can get points there is no reason we can't do the same.

Last nights events truly were are bizarre.

All this saga has done is undermine our great club again and make us a laughing stock

It was one of Pearsons own backroom staff that leaked the info to the media. Fact even they believed he had been sacked.

One thing is for sure though, the Thais have to take responsibility for this mess.

They maybe good at flogging duty free but they aint got a bleeding clue how to run a football club.

Love or loathe Pearson this will effect us badly. We cant buy a win in the league at the moment what will the players be thinking?

All very strange and all it has certainly guaranteed is that one of the relegation spots has now been filled. By us.

Kramaric was signed to play, score and hopefully save our season in the time we have left.

He was watched for two years and is only committed to the club until the end of the season should we go down. His accommodation is for 6 months-until the summer.

All points to the fact he should be selected and play where he can score.ala Lineker, Cottee, Clive Alan etc as he appears on clips.

His use and treatment for someone they supposed to know so well has been poor so far and the turning point for me.

How to involve Huth will be the next big test and split the most loyal.

The players are better than the league position but lack guidance, focus and a person to get the best out of them.

When you say fact, you mean reported in the Daily Mail.
