Nick Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I'm not bothered about what the haters may say tonight. Against a great footballing side, we matched them. (allbeit thriving off pure spirit and determination) Yeah we lost but we looked like a footballing side. Up the City. Up Pearson. And up yours, if you can't see the grit and the performance of the players tonight. Up the City.
shailen Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Funny thing is whether people like to admit or not we have done this pretty much all season. If we had a clinical striker we would we well out of danger.
Jakemoore Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 We more than matched them. We were the better side. Kramaric was top class. Mahrez was incredible. I couldn't be more proud. I just wish we could turn great performances in to great wins. We're adrift now and it heartbreaking.
Kitchandro Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Proud? Really? Because our players try against Arsenal, Liverpool etc but can't motivate themselves for matches against Palace and Stoke? Because we haven't learnt how to defend a set piece yet? Because we've got 17 points from 25 games? It doesn't take much to make you proud, obviously.
ARTY_FOX Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 We were fantastic, and Kramaric got his goal!
Jaspa Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 It was a good performance but we didn't match them There have been a few promising performances along those lines this season to the same result. Its all about taking that drive and performance into the coming League games. Not to say there weren't some new factors to look forward to: Upson, Huth, 3-5-2 and Krama bagging. C'mon lads
LCCFox96 Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Tonight was about putting in a battling performance in the face of the adversity and controversy surrounding the club this week. We did that tonight! I'm proud of the team and the manager tonight. More of the same and we have a real chance of making something of the remaining games.
BlueSi13 Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Funny thing is whether people like to admit or not we have done this pretty much all season. If we had a clinical striker we would we well out of danger. Agreed, if we'd come up with an Ings or an Austin we would have been fine IMO
harpendenfox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 The thing is we did perform against Palace. We really should have won on chances made. It's the mistakes in either box that are sending us down, and rarely the overall performance
bovril Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I hate to be dick (ok I'll be a dick) but who gives a flying **** what Walcott says about us. We're not a plucky lower league side in the Cup. We are bottom because of our fvcking abysmal home record against the dross of the Premiership. Still, we were great tonight. Kramaric and Mahrez superb. We just need to beat Villa on Sunday and then I'll start to believe that we get to Wembley.
George mcfly Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Agreed, if we'd come up with an Ings or an Austin we would have been fine IMO Hasn't ullloa scored more than Ings? I believe ullloa is a good striker just don't think we are getting the best from him.

boki Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Great game, Krama is not only a great goalscorer but also can play and link up, Mahrez was brilliant if he could just score one of his chances tonight, but team spirit and those two up front can still see us staying up and fighting for Wembley glory!
kingfox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Yes this season has been poor, but three performances in particular away from home. Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal We didn't get outclassed in any of those games, and I for one am proud of the teams efforts especially in those three games.
DennisNedry Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I felt like this after Chelsea and the next few times it happened. Now I'm frankly sick of it and football is becoming a big downer in my life.

And up yours, if you can't see the grit and the performance of the players tonight. Up the City. As I said in the post match thread, it's never been about grit and determination..we have that in abundance. It's always been about quality. Making defensive blunders, not tracking back enough, missing too many chances at the other end. We've simply not been good enough over the duration of the games we've played. We've now won two in 17 games. By ANYONES reckoning, that's an appalling return. Truly dreadful. Let's take a reality check...tonight brought back some pride to the club. I said as much. But look at the table. Over the course of the season, I'm not proud of our league position. So tonight I agree with you, over the longer-term, I'm afraid I dont.
