DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 He would do better overseas, where many pitches are much dryer than in England, and they are the pitches which would enable him to play his best football.
Callabinho Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 Just told my mate who's a Spurs fan this news "**** that, he's shit".
Finn Claw II Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 He's 'proved' he can cope in the PL, given Ulloa was £7m and older , Zaha was £15m, younger and English but with no PL experience £10m is the minimum we should accept. With the new TV deal the PL is, or will be, awash with yet more cash. Mahrez is a risk but much less so than a random Spaniard with no experience in the PL or living in England. If a player wants to go they tend to go, we just need to ensure the fee is decent

No way in the world will we get anywhere near £10m for Mahrez. I hope so but no chance.

UpTheLeagueFox Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 Mahrez cost us £300k (ish) - bought with the £500k (ish) profit we made on Ben Marshall - so we'll make a tidy sum on him for sure.
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 Our old scout is now at Spurs, maybe he feels he can make the step up to European football
Guest kristianity77 Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 Get rid. For 7 million we can pick up a tidy replacement more suited to the Championship promotion race anyway I reckon.
Tuna Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 Can't see how Spurs would be interested, he's not even as good as Townsend. No way in the world will we get anywhere near £10m for Mahrez. I hope so but no chance. This is the world where Ross McCormack costs £11 million!
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 This guy has his faults for sure but losing him regardless of price would be so disappointing as we've found a real gem here...... Pearson not using him in certain games earlier in the season has some bearing on where we currently lie in the league

Pearson not using him in certain games earlier in the season has some bearing on where we currently lie in the league Hmmm not sure about that, it's mainly down to his insistance of keep playing certain players mostly of whom are defender's and not replacing them when he had the chance.

WBA at home, 30m mins left, HAD to bring him on as we couldn't open them up then also Southampton away when we went 1-0 down.... but no he brought Nick Powell on! Granted its Southampton, we probably would of lost still but to leave your most creative player warming the bench in certain games was criminal
Bettsj2 Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 I dont really care who he goes to and to be honest, how much he goes for is a complete irrelevance (Unless its £15m plus which it wont be). Its quite obvious he intends to leave as soon as the relegation is confirmed and to be honest, if we scraped survival I think he'd still want to go. The amount doesnt really make a difference under this ownership. Our owners will back the manager financially with whatever money he needs so £3m, £5m, £7m, who gives a shit? in all honesty, the interview he gave saying he didnt want to stay if we were relegated is piss poor and not at all what anybody wants to hear at this stage. As soon as relegation is mathematically confirmed, let him go find another club and sign a pre-contract.

He said he's not thinking about the championship because he wants to stay up. Huge difference. He's not said to anyone publicly he wants to leave

This interview doesnt really leave any doubt to his intentions should we be relegated does it?

Bettsj2 Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 FFP To which we are already compliant. Raised gate receipts, merchandise and sponsership from this season along with ending contracts and inevitable sales will see us compliant again. Realistically, nobody would pay more than £7m for Mahrez. He's got ability there is no doubt about that, but he does not do it anywhere near consistantly enough to demand any higher a price tag. For those who consistantly mention McCormack, he's a consistent goalscorer which are incredibly difficult to find, so when one is available and you want him, you always pay more.

He's not said to anyone publicly he wants to leave What he said was, that playing in the championship, which has so many games, was something he didn`t want to think about. Which to be fair, in my eyes anyway, did suggest that he wont be here next season if we get relegated.

You mean this where he states he wants to help the club remain in the Premier League: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/31606454 The Sun interview doesn't really give it away whether he wants to stay or not - sounds more a case of the media (and fans) putting words into a player's mouth. Back up your claim with a credible quote or let it be.

Not allowed to read between the lines!!

Raised gate receipts, merchandise and sponsership from this season along with ending contracts and inevitable sales will see us compliant again. We might have been compliant last season, yet to be confirmed though. I'm thinking about next season though, the more we get for him the more we'll have to spend on players and wages while remaining compliant. Whether it'll make a great difference I don't know but still better to get as much as possible.

I can so see him in Italy, for example, and becoming a top class footballer. For HIMSELF, I think he needs to get away.
RedSoxUK Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 I think it, along with so many players at the club, depends on whether or not Nigel Pearson stays or goes. Would love to keep hold of Mahrez, would love to keep hold of Kramaric - we could be an incredibly strong team next season. ]
Fox92 Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 If he wants to leave, if any player wants to leave, Pearson will allow it. He's not the type of manager to keep them at the club if they want to leave and rightly so. Just like Hume, Stearman, McAuley, Mattock...
