Mahrez ...How much will he sell for and to whom ?

Time and time again I saw Mahrez make passes that in a team with a better group of players would be incredible. He has so much of a better vision that anyone on the team. Other players on the team are just not on the same level as him and therefore cannot predict the pass. He is too good for this team and will go on to be an amazing player.

This is why people often mistake him having a bad game. If he's making the passes but other players cannot see it then it's a big shame

He's so overrated on here it's untrue, he has flashes of quality but that's it, he is too lightweight for the premier league, and his final product nine times out of ten is shocking, he's done **** all this season apart from a few nice touches and beat a few players.

Quite the opposite, he's simply failing to read the runs of his players. There's no excuse for him, if he's not in a game he becomes lazy, he stood a couple of yards off opposition players yesterday and would not put a foot in. There were a few simple passes to be made yesterday, one went to Kramaric and the other to DeLaet where he seemed to hammer them over a short space resulting in them having to adjust to take a touch and losing possession. There was another passage of play where Kramaric received the ball with his back to goal and looked up to play the ball to Mahrez who had started running across the pitch leaving Kramaric with no decent option in for the pass to which he recognised and you could see him shouting and gesturing towards Mahrez. He may have flair and talent. Ht he lacks a footballing brain, I always thought he did a bit too much on the ball rather than the simple pass but it maybe that his range of passing and link up play is his downfall.

An example was the one-two with schlupp, schlupp passed him the ball and should have then gone on to run past his defender, mahrez also assumed the same and passed, instead schlupp stood still. Time and time again that happens. Just the receiver ends up standing still and not making the run

I'll give you that on the fact that yesterday Schlupp was infuriating, he was put in that position but seemed to have no interest in going forwards until the second half, which I assume something was said at halt time. However, there were numerous occasions when DeLaet was in yards of space out on the right wing and instead of playing the ball out to him he turned back into trouble and either gave the ball away or played another player into trouble.

Too much expectation on him in my opinion. He's had a poor few games and maybe needs a spell out the side. He's top quality though and will prove this elsewhere.

End product isn't good enough. Probably what keeps players like this signing for the "bigger" clubs. He might end up as a top flight player, but there's no way he'd get into a side like Tottenham or even Southampton at the minute.

hope he's sold for 8m to some club that don't need him to play defensively at all or attack for 50% of the game.

He's been one of better performers this season and people still want him gone?! - He's still young dammit!

completly agree and would not want him in a relegation battle game - another big mistake by nigel but we r used to that now

This guy is not playing well currently and he has a HUGE amount to learn but it still never ceases to amaze me the criticism levels he receives, a class act on his day and still finding his way in the English game.

I would of 100% took him off yesterday and possibly start him sub in odd games then bring him on but to say he's not good enough etc is nonsense...... He can unlock defences better than most when on form

Agree 100%

Needs dropping at Spurs and go 3 in midfield and 2 up top if it's 5 at the back again.

Let's drop our best player!!

The lad is quality, very often beats his man when in possession. There's not many wingers I have seen in the premier league this season I would replace him with.

To be fair if I looked up and saw rdl. I wouldn't pass the ball to him either.

Can't really believe we are having a pop at the one player with the actually ability to beat a man with the ball at his feet.

would be a very interesting situation, to have him sold now, but still play out the season for us?

As a buyer, i dont think id want him risking injury before coming to the club, as a seller, the same theory, if he gets injured in a meaningless game... bye bye 7 million?

He could still be a great player he has the physical and mental attributes, what he really needs is top class coaching. Something he won't seemingly get here with our collection of clowns in charge.

Please let me know where he has shown the physical attributes? He gets pushed off the ball easier that a 3 year old, he is consistently losing the ball through poor choices and he never goes into a tackle with any passion or commitment so I'd like to see any proof of his mental attributes.

I think yesterdays game has identified that maybe Riyad isn't the man for the job. This isn't a hate campaign, I do rate him as a player, however I question the effect he has on a game. Yesterday we had Nuge and Vardy operating in the areas Riyad would usually be playing. The difference is once the ball went out to the position we were direct, we ran at the defence and were efficient in possession. When on the pitch, most of our play tends to go through Mahrez as he is possibly our most creative outlet, however we also see that an attack can be slowed down, or we lack an end product that is on target or provides another player to receive possession in a stronger or goalscoring position. This isn't to write him off, we know he has the ability to create something from nothing, to play that killer through ball pass, maybe his confidence has been knocked, or maybe other teams have found that marking tight and physical is the way to contain him.

Maybe if there were any other threats in the team, he might get space. It doesn't seem to work out for him when we are attacking a lot of the time, but to be honest I think it's down to the lack of attacking flair of the rest of the players in the team. He seems 2 steps ahead of everyone else most of the time.

As someone said, in a team where defending isn't 80% of the game, he will do very well. I think this is why schlupp looks good, as he has the pace and strength to defend and it often clouds the fact he wastes almost everything at the other end.
