shailen Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 He reminds me of Nani. Capable of going past people at will, but always does do much and slows down the attacks. Whereas Vardy is direct, runs and commits defenders as is Albrighton. Individually he is an excellent player, but for the team I'm not so sure. Good sub to have if we need to use more skill to break the opponent down.
Livid Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 I agree. Vardy set us up for victory. Mahrez looked a spare part. Clearly Mahrez is the most gifted player we have, maybe after Cambiasso but he's not got the defensive talent that our midfield needs to help us survive. Perhaps they'll take him and Kasper and we can invest the 50mill. I agree a fantastic player when he has the ball but defensively he is lightweight. He's a luxury we can't afford to carry when they all need to role their sleeves up and fight. If we can't get the ball like the majority of the first half yesterday there's no point him being on the pitch. If he goes to a more established Premier League side I've no doubt he will be a great success.
m4DD0gg Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Bags of pace, tricky on the ball but devoid of any end product. Easily pushed off the ball and needs to bulk up.
LCCFox96 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Mahrez went missing yesterday. Not for the first time this season either. We can't afford that from him. Thankfully the likes of Vardy, Albrighton and Nugent stepped up with some real determined graft going forward and gave us enough quality to win the game. Wise move to take him off yesterday. I also feel players like Ulloa and Kramaric suffer from playing alongside as when Mahrez, as our most creative player, turns out a performance like yesterday the supply line is depleted massively. That being said with his undoubted raw talent he will still have a big role to play for us in the remaining games. He has the ability to be the difference for us and he just needs to show it more often.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Been a bit too much miss not enough hit lately, but you've got to keep giving him chances to show what he can do, nobody else in the team can change a game like he can when he's in the mood. Albrighton was good when he came on, what you expect of him, touch and cross from pretty much any position on the wing but not a whole lot else.
blue army 1988 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 He's either not as good as people think he is or he's just not bothered any more

Very effective when we fill the box with players like yesterday. A lot more effective than an inside forward anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stadt Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 You can't say he's not good enough defensively and then praise Albrighton in the same post. Albrighton is disastrous when defending
benpicko Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Can't remember the last match he played where he was actually great
m4DD0gg Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Can't remember the last match he played where he was actually great Arsenal - turning it on against the big boys, bet he is hoping Wenger will come in for a bid.
AKCJ Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Its typical Riyad. He goes on a ten game cycle. He'll look ****ing naff then gradually improve over about 7 games before three absolutly world class performances before dropping to the Josh Low tier of wingers.

How can you have the name you do and then write the above? What else did Guppy do except touch and cross from pretty much any position on the wing?

ImBlue Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Bags of pace, tricky on the ball but devoid of any end product. Easily pushed off the ball and needs to bulk up. You forgot devoid of any premier league quality attacking players around him.. We will be so so fortunate to be seeing his talent beyond the next 8 games.
hackneyfox Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 His crosses were good. Albrighton's are currently better than Mahrez's.
Fox92 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Albrighton's are currently better than Mahrez's. He put in one or two decent crosses, yeah. Not every cross of Albrighton's was good though as some seem to be suggesting.
elvis f kennedy Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 I maintain hes shit, said this about knockaert when everyone was saying how good he was, exactly the same player and just as crap ,will end up at mid table Spanish or in the Turkish league.
chicagofox Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Based on his performances of late, and for most of the season to be fair, I'd sell him for a falafel sandwich and I wouldn't even ask for the fries to go with it.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 How can you have the name you do and then write the above? What else did Guppy do except touch and cross from pretty much any position on the wing? Take that back imho.
Dan Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 I maintain hes shit, said this about knockaert when everyone was saying how good he was, exactly the same player and just as crap ,will end up at mid table Spanish or in the Turkish league. Well correct me if I'm wrong but we aren't at that level
Carlos88LCFC Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Well correct me if I'm wrong but we aren't at that level We are. Probably not above that level but we are at least at that level. Beyond the top teams in Spain the English league is so much better than mid table Spanish teams who have hardly any financial backing and rely on their academy. The likes of celta vigo, espanyol, gatafe & lavente would struggle to stay in the premiership. (Which are the current mid table Spanish teams) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
elvis f kennedy Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Well correct me if I'm wrong but we aren't at that level Mid table Spanish teams are rubbish, why do you think Ronald's gets 50 goals a season,he didn't do that in the premier league, also people are claiming he ll move onto bigger and better ,which that isn't.
pazzerfox Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 VILLARREAL EYEING MAHREZ? Villarreal are interested in Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, according to the player's intermediary. The Algeria winger, who is in his second season at Leicester, has scored twice in 24 Premier League appearances this term. His displays have caught the eye of Villarreal, and the player’s representative Kamel Bengougam says the Spanish club have contacted him to signal their interest. Bengougam told Le Buteur: “Yes, it’s true that there is great interest from Villarreal. Additionally, I have to say that club officials called me to clearly show their desire to sign the player - yes, it’s possible. They are interested in him, but it has only been a formal first approach.”
theessexfox Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 Classy player on form and glides past players with the ball as if they're not their, but doesn't seem like he has the desire to play for us at the moment, I hope he turns it around and proves me wrong.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 15 April 2015 Posted 15 April 2015 I thought the way he reacted to both the late goals shows a level of commitment many have doubted. Was absolutely busting a gut to be an option for Vardy when he scored the third. He's just out of form at the minute, but with the confidence high in the squad hopefully this will return soon, can still play a big part this season imo and whatever happens after the season finishes in regards to his future happens, obviously destined for bigger things be it this summer or later.
