Stevosevic Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Pretty straight forward question. Most grounds in the country have an end they can rely on being all standing so why don't we? Even clubs much smaller than us.
lestajigs Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Pretty straight forward question. Most grounds in the country have an end they can rely on being all standing so why don't we? Even clubs much smaller than us. What the hell do l1 k1 and top of j3 do then??
Jimmy Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 because we moved grounds and the old kop split into 2 sections
davieG Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Because one end is the Family end and the other was partly filled by ex Filbo double decker fans who obviously like to sit. It was inevitable that the South Stand would be a diluted version of the Filbo Kop which in reality was mostly just a small section, Pen 1 and some of Pen 2 of a small Kop. Historically well at least since Filbo went all seater and the capacity was massively reduced we've never had a large standing/singing section for anything other than a few exceptional games.
Stevosevic Posted 9 March 2015 Author Posted 9 March 2015 What the hell do l1 k1 and top of j3 do then?? At the side of the pitch....that's not an end. They're wasted there imo, a full kop standing would be brilliant
Bayfox Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Because the club did there best to split sk1 and 2 by sticking the away fans next to the east stand and family stand and diluted the standers we had. I loved sk1 at Filbo partly for the standing partly for the fact it was next too the away fans. But also I like watching the game from behind a goal. So I stuck with sk1. Couldn't for the life of me watch a game from l1. But some would rather be next to the away section and that divided the standers.
FoxinNotts Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 We used to have one, at Filbo. It was a good un aswell. I feel sorry for a those that never got to stand on that kop
jonthefox Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 We do have a kop. Trouble is everyones so fickle about it. If only the L1 'ers could stand where the union fs lot go we'd have an end to rival any in the country.

All the cool kids moved to L1.
LCFCtotheprem Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 I think the kop should try and stand for the hull game, it's a massive game and normally only the top 5 rows of the kop stand up. We need to be proactive in improving the atmosphere, fans complain but don't do anything about it
LCFC FOX Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 The whole KOP will never stand, they're not going to move the sitters are they
Stadt Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 I think the kop should try and stand for the hull game, it's a massive game and normally only the top 5 rows of the kop stand up. Fox92 Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 But isn't the East Stand called the Gary Lineker stand? Or did I make that up?

LCFCtotheprem Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 You up for coming into SK1 mate? Currently have a season ticket in sk3, but may move to sk1 next season, seems like you lot are actually trying to get the atmosphere going, well done
Rich Fox Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 I moved from the Kop to L1 party because the atmosphere was shit in the kop and partly because the view in the Kop is awful compared to other grounds at it seems so far away from the pitch. It don't seem steep enough to me and the view in L1 is far better and it is more friendly than the Kop which seems full of miserable buggers to me
Kitchandro Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Because our ground is new. It was not around in the eras where standing and singing ends, Kops for want of a better word, were naturally formed. Only very big with huge numbers of standers could form this in a modern ground of the size ours is.
Bristol fox .... Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 I sit/stand in the kop and i can guarentee that on saturday against hull i will have at least 2 season ticket holders that sit next to me will be talking about the cricket, it happens most weeks and it really pisses me off. so to get a complete standing section is not workable although i am 100% up for it
LCFCtotheprem Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 We could just try singing " stand up if you love leicester " for 90 minutes
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Currently have a season ticket in sk3, but may move to sk1 next season, seems like you lot are actually trying to get the atmosphere going, well done Good man, guarantee you'll enjoy it.
Dan Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 Our Kop won't stand for years yet. I don't think SK1 is completely unrealistic but not the whole Kop.
