Tuna Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 We've qualified and now we focus on the league was what we were told. Except ever since we've qualified for the last sixteen we seem to have gotten worse. We do not look like scoring goals. Actually we do not score goals anymore unless its penalties. We don't press. There is no urgency. There is no creativity. Players are off their game, are making mistakes and are lacking effort. We are AWFUL to watch. Absolutely awful. Hoofball and hope. And please lets not talk about last season. It's done. As wonderful as it was, we move on. Ranieri is not unsackable. No one is unsackable and you cannot sack an entire team of players. The players are more than good enough. Yes we've been exposed by the Mendy injury but the signings we've made over the summer were awful. What is it? Is Ranieri too soft with them and cannot bollock them anymore? Nothing changes, woeful performance after woeful performance. Starting slowly, playing badly in a formation that doesn't work anymore and has been found out. The managers comments after some of the recent performances are particularly worrying, praising the players efforts and performances. We are the champions and are playing like a league 2 outfit. I want to see him ordering the players in for training on Sunday morning rather than enabling this sort of rubbish result. Ranieri is the one who organizes the tactics, selects the players, trains and motivates them and the buck stops with him. The players don't seem to be responding. Has he lost the dressing room? Have they lost respect for him? Would a new coach get an immediate bounce from the players? The time has come to ask some serious questions on the way things are being run. We can point to Kante leaving and Walsh leaving and our crap transfer window and poor signings but that doesn't help right now. Where do we go from here and how much longer can it realistically carry on? Lots of questions, no easy answers I'm afraid. We've got Man City home, Bournemouth and Stoke away and Everton and West Ham at home coming up. Unless we get 2 wins from this run of games, I'm struggling to see a way forward. Particularly if the performances don't improve either. 1 point from Sunderland, West Brom, Middlesbrough and Watford is an unacceptable return and is relegation form. We CANNOT afford to get relegated.
AKCJ Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 Forever. He's won us the league and has taken us into the last 16 of the Champions League with an abysmal squad. Close thread.
Stevosevic Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 He's not untouchable. Relegation isnt an option. Worrying thing is he can't see the need for change.
Benji Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 Until he or I dies. Slimani is not an awful signing.
ithuriel Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 I'll back him but he is concerning with his strict adherence to 4-4-2 and certain players that are not giving 100%

norwichfox Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 He's lost the team, no spirit, no new tactical ideas, a disastrous transfer window. Only thing going for him is the CL, and we ain't staying in that after the next 3 games. Love the bloke to bits after last season, but primarily we have to stay in the Premier League and this won't happen on current performances. We have good enough players, they need the right motivation, and playing formation. I'll be sorry to see him go, as he's such a likeable fellow, but for me he can fcuk off tonight after that debacle.

The CL group was by far the easiest so getting through whilst brilliant should have the norm. We are currently playing bollocks in the PL and sliding to the bottom and Claudio looks like he is either unwilling tactically or incapable of turning it around. I still want him to but relegation is a no-no.. I think the owners will have a hard decision come January if things don't improve rapidly.

Close thread. However much I'd like to agree with you there has to be a disagreement too. I hate teams that chop chop and change managers and what CR done last season was literally the unbelievable but it is now a new season. Something needs to change soon cause this is getting embarrassing, why should we accept to slip into 'acceptable' when have have put ourselves into a posistion that every club dreams of being - clubs move forward and grow, we have got worse and are now accepting relegation battle because we have supponsingly gone back to where we belong. Im not saying CR should be sacked after this weekend, he deserves the time but as fans we also deserve to see an improvement
pazzerfox Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 He's a clown. It's obvious King and Amartey can't play in a 2 man Midfield, yet we continually play the same way. Truly baffling.

And ranieri whose spent some money to apparently improve the squad that stayed up a few years ago?
Nod.E Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 What available manager would garner a better response right now? It's so easy to blindly blame the manager isn't it?
walkerleeds Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 As long as he needs. He produced something we never dreamed would happen. Simple as that.

There's no way you look at our squad from last season and can come to the conclusion that it was great. It was the worst squad to have won the league ever and now that we've lost this desire and will to work for each other teams are playing us off the park every week. Time to say thanks, but we we need to rip the core of this squad up and get rid. Huth, Morgan, Simpson, Albrighton and Vardy - All heroes, but none can be arsed any more.
eblair Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 this is ranieri's squad he's built the pieces of the jigsaw that don't fit; last year's squad was pearson and walsh's creation - last season does not excuse the dross we are watching week in week out

Don't see what's wrong with most of his signings individually, most would have shined last season in a team with confidence/effort. The club were very naive to think the long ball would work again. Ridiculously naive.
weller54 Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 Get fat Sam in while he's still available...... he'll at least keep us up!

Corky Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 Such a shame to see this situation. The man was so brilliant last season (and would've been whether we won the title or not) but this run and the last two months have been on a par with two years ago. I really hope he can turn it around or walk away soon with dignity and the love for last season.
Kitchandro Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 For me, I'll take relegation before I call for him to be sacked. Suck it up I say. He's having an absolute mare and I agree with every point of criticism he's getting. But I'd be more inclined to blame him if the players were putting in some effort. He will get sacked though. For his sake I hope he resigns, he doesn't deserve that indignity.
