Beliall Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 im not married, but i have been with my current partner for 10 years this year. she used to like chelsea, i solved that problem.
I blame Wellens Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 If I was married to a bloke it would bother me but women don't know anything about footy anyway so it wouldn't bother me.
Finnegan Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I'm far too poor a loser to date a forest or derby fan or anyone who'd rejoice in city losing. There'd be rows. Beyond that I don't care. It'd be worse to date a bird who was a Leicester fan but had retarded ****ing opinions like Col or Kitchen than to date one who doesn't care. My missus hates football but she's gotten used to Sky sports. She likes Jeff Stelling's eyebrows, any footballer with a huge afro (ugh) and any footballer with an amusing name. Thomas Muller Rice was her favourite in the world cup. ... Yeah, I'm a really lucky guy. She's fit though.

Mike Oxlong Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 ... Yeh, I'm really lucky guy. She's fit though. I'm really hoping you haven't run out of As
gerrytaggart Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Anyone who chooses a partner based on the team they support are not very good at life!
sylofox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Marry a cov scum tree or a sheep/ Why would anyone want to marry a five fingered disabled?
Langley Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I'm engaged to a girl from Long Eaton. Her family are half sheep shaggers and half florist but she's lived in Leicester since she was 18 and has been to on under 21 game, one cup game and taking her to the game vs QPR. We were in the pub in London the weekend that Bradford played Chelsea and some lads started to talk to her as soon as I left to go to the bar and she started talking about Leicester as 'her team' so I'm optimistic that she's warming to the idea of being a city fan.
The Doctor Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 The current gf doesn't care about football, nominally an arsenal fan because her family are (except the one Spurs fan for a cousin) but is bored to tears by football. Better that way, football becomes private time and I can watch with no distractions

1993fox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 None of my exes have been into football apart from one Spanish nurse who supports Sevilla, so it's a resounding yes from me.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Married an indifferent-family are Saints but she's been to more City games now and is becoming indoctrinated. She sings 'we hate Derby' pretty well, although I have to fill in the 'sheep sheep sheepshaggers' part. She has no particular feelings about football, but is, I think, Leicester if pushed. Perfect!
Russell sprout Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 My wife's from notts and my in laws forest sth, She never claimed to be a forest fan however she would always remind me she's a notts girl and there always banter with her family, But she's been a dozen or so games and enjoys coming, she knows who's who and though she wouldn't say it,her bloods blue, Our wedding day was great cuz it was blue and white theme, even the dresses, cake etc and yet half were forest fans, the best part was me father in law having to wear our colours, something he wasn't happy doing.
brisfox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 First wife hated football. Needless to say we divorced
LukeyZade Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I voted no. marriage for me no thanks. We are happy as we are. Not to mention her family are big wigan fans anyway Rambling on about them zzzzzzzzz
Weller in Tights Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 My wife hates football. Fair enough, it means I go to the football with my kids and mates who like football. I do hate it when she tries to be empathetic when City lose. She really doesn't understand the pain.
David Guiza Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 My girlfriend has zero interest in football, and most sport really, but I've noticed an increase in her interest when I either complain or brag about the recent result. There's still time. Not too fussed either way whether she supports Leicester or not, as long as she understands my passion for football/sport then I couldn't care less.
Samilktray Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 My girlfriend has no interest in football and im happy to keep it that way.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Being able to brainwash any children that pop out is the deal breaker - which becomes less likely if the gal is an avid fan of another club. But generally I think men are more keen and passionate about football - and that would likely be decisive and rub off on any kids. In my case, thank god my Mum isn't at all keen on football - she's from Nottingham! When I was living in Bmouth, a girlfriend (now ex) came to a few City games - and it got her hooked. But by the time of the big extended family outing to LCFC v Bmouth at the KP last season, we had split up. She and her family sat in the Bmouth end (as opposed to sitting with me and my old man), and I hear she's now a keen Bmouth fan. In fact I even saw her on local news last time I was home predicting the score. Whore!
HoustonFox Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 My fiancee doesn't like football at all (well soccer, as it's called here) but I got her into it and she went to the Burnley game at home last season and Spurs at home and Liverpool away this Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed. She always asks how we are doing on a Saturday morning while watching it on TV and after the inevitable "not very well" (apart from this weekend ) she always cheers me up with a "Go Foxes" chant. As a lot of people have said, it's not a deal breaker for me as there are other things in life (blasphemy!) than footy - although try telling me that during a game!!
Leicesterpool Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I'd love to marry a football or maybe get her into football, they'd she be able to understand the importance to football in a man's life and also to prove there not seeing another woman every saturday afternoon.

I know Shankly said "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." but marrying a football seems a bit extreme

Lovejoy Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I once took my Mrs to a Leicester game. Vs Blackburn in 2013, 3-0 home win. After 40 minutes she asked what colour Leicester were wearing. These days I tell her it's a sell out every week so she can't join me. She won't be going again.

I can imagine though Johnny Westwood marrying a football!
