Gerard Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 If we take four points I am confident we will stay up. I think Burnley will beat us. I'd like to think we'd beat QPR, meaning Sunderland away is the game for me, absloutley no way Hull are going to put another 7 on the board (if they do fair play they deserve to stay up) assuming we beat QPR their not going to match our points tally, either if we manage the above. So dragging Sunderland into by beating them is paramount if you ask me. I agree with the Sunderland comment, it's a bigger game than the Burnley one. Lose that game and we're seven points adrift of Sunderland. It looks highly likely that it will be three from the bottom five that go down. The fortunate thing for us is the other four teams look like they don't know where their next win is coming from. We can afford to let one of them finish above us but not two. Burnley and Sunderland away looked like games we had to win at the start of the month but now they look like must not lose games. I'd take two points from those games now, in fact I'd bite your hand off. Not necessarily for the two points but primarily to stop them getting a march on us. They will look at their fixtures and both target us as a must win game for them, a win for them is more important to them than a win for us.
Benji Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I think I am right in saying that if Chelsea win their next two games against Man U and Arsenal then their trip to the KP could be the clincher for them. Makes it a really tough game. Hopefully they'll want to win it on home turf... fingers crossed.
Finn Claw II Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Who knows with us, whenever I've got my hopes up this season they have been smacked back down again. But to put a number on it 50% I reckon QPR will be down by the time we play them. Sunderland is gearing up to be MASSIVE.
Gerard Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I'd go as far as saying any of our three relegation rivals we beat will be relegated. I wouldn't say it about us though if we lose as we have a realistic hope of picking up points in all seven of our remaining fixtures.
cc_star Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Voted 50/50. It's now in our own hands, the fixture list has been kind enough to us. But I don't trust Pearson, a couple of hard fought wins don't change the fact he has severely handicapped our potential this season with his selections, tactics and his inability to organise us sufficiently enough to defend a set piece. At our best we can definitely win enough matches to stay up but you cannot rely on us to turn up and play. Swansea will be a more difficult match and we have to strike now while the iron's hot. Kind to us? Not especially, we are where we are, ie with it in our own hands unlike QPR & Burnley despite having more games against the top sides and away. This deficiency in it being kind will merely be levelled up during the run-in
FLINTHAMFC Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Someone voted for 0%!!! Really. Thankfully only one person has been that daft.
yorkie1999 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Just imagine, last game of the season, us and qpr 3 points clear of the bottom 3 only needing a draw for both teams to stay up. Players all stood round the centre circle passing it to each other, Goalies playing cards and the crowd doing a conga round the pitch.

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 We're scoring goals, playing with confidence, got a game or two in hand on everyone and have momentum, we've given ourselves a hell of a chance. Nice to think, as difficult as it looked at times and ultimately will still be to stay up, I never resorted to being a pathetic little worm like many on here did. Up the blues.

Guest bss9401 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Even some pundits and journos acknowledge that we have not had the rub of the green so far. The deflection for 1-2 at West Brom felt like a hammer blow. If, however we can maintain momentum and start to have a little bit of luck then it is maybe a bit better than 50/50. I would definitely have taken 50/50 a fortnight ago! COYB, turn up for these crucial games and I think that we may just do this. I would be delighted to see NP claw himself back from the brink of a detention under the Mental Health Act.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 That's what I find so pleasing about our recent form/results. We've still not really had the luck, own goals, missed penalties etc (not so much bad luck the missed pen but still a setback we overcame). The same set backs we've been having to deal with all season, but we're finding ways to over come these setbacks and win games.
Hollism Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Swansea - WIN Burnley - WIN Chelsea - LOSE Newcastle - DRAW Southampton - LOSE Sunderland - WIN QPR - WIN Genuinely feel this is a fair prediction, and absolutely doable. I was working on my own today, and I spotted that at the weekend, Swansea confirmed PL survival. I've since convinced myself that all the players will have received a bonus and will be on the piss all week, and we're gonna do them 5-0 on Saturday
Guest MattP Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Slightly more than 50/50. The gap is still tough on paper but we couldn't write down a better run in and we were given a pen and paper. For the first time in ages the bookmakers now have us as a shorter price to stay up than go down.
foxfanazer Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Swansea- Win Burnley- Draw Chelsea- Draw Newcastle- Draw Southampton- lose Sunderland- Draw QPR- Win Got a funny feeling about the chelsea game. They've been far from impressive recently and we have no problem getting ourselves up for games like this. Really tough one to predict imo
zak_lcfc Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 50/50 on paper most are 'winnable' games but football isn't played on paper, if we play attacking like we're good at then I think we can get enough points to be a premier league club next season
LCCFox96 Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Has to be 50/50. We've put some real graft in over the last two games a dug six points out with some real gritty performances. If we can keep that level up, especially in the games against our relegation rivals, then we've got a real good chance. The return of form to Vardy and Nugent and goals to the side has been a catalyst for us thus far and long may it continue. However, we should be under no illusions we've got it all to do still.
Fox92 Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Quite good. We are still bottom but we aren't out of reach.

For the first time in ages the bookmakers now have us as a shorter price to stay up than go down. According to the betting markets our points expectation against Swansea will be 1.61 pts. If we fail to win then our chances will dip below 50% again. Fine lines eh?
RonnieTodger Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Newcastle are ****ing awful but I have a really bad feeling about that Sunderland game.
TonyN11 Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 I voted 50/50. Agree with the comments about taking one game at a time. It's good that we have some mid-table sides to play but then again if they are relaxed and we are nervous it could all go pear(son)-shaped. In terms of the teams above us, I like to think we can catch West Brom - have you seen their run-in? Hopefully we'll be safe before we play QPR - and they may be also.
weller54 Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Newcastle are ****ing awful but I have a really bad feeling about that Sunderland game. If O Shea plays we have no worries.. He's absolute dross!!
