Leicester city 2 - Swansea city 0 - Post match bloody thread, i love you all

Recommended Posts

That was brilliant. So many positives:

- our attacking intent/overall intensity early on

- confidence on the ball

- shape and structure much improved

- insane work ethic

- clean sheet

- every player on form

Next week is massive. We really need to keep grinding on. Still so much work to be done.

Atmosphere.

We're getting the rub of the green. We're on the right side of the fine margins...

But we've been been playing this well all season. Rarely has there been a game (ironically Swansea away that is the exception) that we've not performed. I've always believed that Nige is a fantastic boss. For those who can't see what he's built, I hope today (and the previous 2 games) have shown what a good side he's put together.

A team that fights, that believes they belong in this division. We still have 6 massive games ahead but we have shown that we have the capability to compete in this league. If we continue in this manner I can only see us surviving comfortably, and if that happens, I can only dream of what we can achieve next season.

He's made some mistakes along the way but Nige has got us playing (and winning) when it matters. I can only hope that we continue playong positive football in the remaining games.

I am literally on cloud nine now!!

Wish I could fast forward a week and be watching leicester again!

I think these next 2 games are going to be a real test now.

If we beat Burnley away we will be out of sight of both burnley and QPR in my opinion.

Fair does to Nigel, he did need time to figure out this league and I think now he's got it right.

I was doubting he would turn it around in time, but he has.

Alan Curblishley said on match of the day that momentum is everything in this league, and it's true.

We have just beaten 3 very good football teams.

Cambiasso deserves a statue after 1 season.

Albrighton has turned out to be alright.Still have my doubts wether I'd keep Schlupp next season, but he's playing alright.

Think Drinkwater had a storming game. Maybe he's been getting some one on one training with Cambi.

How much would someone need to pay us for Jamie Vardy now?! He is a weapon that a lot of teams could do with! Yes, he needs to work on his finishing but his Pace, Determination, Work Rate, Stamina and ability to run at defenders are different class.

We didn't perform in quite a few games (off the top of my head - sland, WBA, Stoke, at home. Soton, Swansea, palace away) but I accept we have made a good fist of most fixtures. next week is really fascinating. Against a side really fighting for their survival. not a quality PL side but an organised one who feel they are being unfairly dealt with by the system. No love lost between us either. I would actually play our championship style next week and try and pass it around them.

Apologies for being a bore, but no, you literally are not - however I agree with every other sentiment posted here. This feels like a huge psychological blow to have struck, 3 games ago we had 19 points, now we're one win away from the 30s..........the only result to play for at the town with one road in is a win.

Said weeks back, we needed to play high tempo football. Make every game a cup final and it's working.

When you start like we did against a team in mid-table, they begin to think 'I'm in for long afternoon of effort which means the square root of naff all'.

Be a different challenge next week. 100 mph pace at Turf Moor.

We were outstanding yesterday. Swansea weren't especially bad, they just couldn't cope with us. We defended superbly and we seem to have cut the errors out that have been hamstringing us all season. And we had so much energy going forward, so much desire to get the goals.

Burnley will be cacking themselves about next week, I think. We are well capable of beating them there.

Schmeichel, Morgan, Albrighton, Schlupp, King, Cambiasso, Vardy and Mahrez all outstanding, I was pleased with Drinkwater when he came on too.

The only criticism you can make is we are still not clinical enough with our chances, but at rate we are going we will get another bite of the cherry to put that right next season.

Off topic but did anyone else see Wasilewski walking out of the ground straight after the match and getting into a car outside the odoen? found it a bit weird as to why he'd leave so quickly

I didn't see Wasyl yesterday, but Schwarzer and Fabianski were sat together on the 6pm train back to London. I think it's pretty normal for the players to go their own way as soon as the game has finished.

It was an almost perfect football day out yesterday. The attacking intent, the positivity, the cohesion, the willingness to mount the challenge, the crowd generating a terrific atmosphere - it all concluded in an outstanding experience.

The first time we've won three games in a row in the Premier League since 2000 (!). The first clean sheet in four games. Off the bottom of the table for the first time in roughly five (?) months. Ulloa scoring again.

These are just a few of the many positive to draw from the Swansea game.

The only two things I did not like was Pearson reverting to a 4-4-2, thus taking the foot off the gas, allowing the visitors to be much more threatening in our own half and our wastefulness in front of goal. Some may argue we were lacking the power, but I believe we could've pummeled Swansea even further. However, I'm glad that De Laet somehow managed to nullify the danger that is Jefferson Montero.

Hopefully, this third straight will further strengthen the morale and the belief that we can reach 16th or 17th spot comes the end of the season. Just improve the finishing and we'll be laughing to the bank.

Just wanted to give a mention again of young Jeff yesterday.

When Nathan Dyer came on, (who is bloody rapid), I thought Schlupp have him nothing. Every time Dyer knocked it past Jeff, he had the pace to run him down and invariably won the ball.

He's really developing well is young Schlupp. His pace is such an asset to the team.

I agree. I thought we were a yard of pace quicker than them all over the park. Even Albrighton who I don't consider to be the quickest had the beating of their full back
