conLAD logan Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 in reality, no one here knows what our players are being paid or what potential signings like sako will be paid, however I would highly doubt sako would get 50k per week from us considering he's unproven in the prem, no team in the world would pay him that... He's a free agent that hasnt played consistently top level football, heck most of France's internationals aren't probably on 50k, Id imagine if he came here hed be close to our top earner just because of his agent (who obviously is using the media to get his client a big a wage as possible) and the fact he'd be a free signing meaning Sako would probably argue the club can afford to pay him that bit more considering he's coming to us potentially for free.

Is 50k pw with no fee that bad? Exactly, I don't think anyone would be worried if he was in contract, we paid a few million for him and paid him 30K a week, with a 3 year contract, a negligible signing on fee and 50K a week works out about the same. More of an issue of if it will put other's noses out of joint.

Why do people care what anyone is paid, you don't have to pay them do you?! Same with peoples age etc. If Big Nige decides someone brings something he wants then get it done Rudders (or your getting the same treatment as that **** MacArthur!)

More of an issue of if it will put other's noses out of joint.This is just it. Once his wages+fee are amortised over the length of his contract it'd be the same as a regular signing. Trouble is like you say, the dressing room harmony may be affected by someone unproven at that level coming in and earning substantially more than everyone else. He does have the right character though not to upset the dressing room which is a big thing nowadays. He's a really nice bloke and not someone who would get any of the other players backs up. When we had Jamie O'Hara and Roger Johnson come in on big wages and they were both arseholes it split the dressing room and caused problems. That won't happen with Sako.
