Danno Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Are people genuinely concerned about the club paying someone 50k a week? It's not your money ffs.
yorkie1999 Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Are people genuinely concerned about the club paying someone 50k a week? It's not your money ffs. i think its more to do with 50k a week on a championship striker.
Domsdad Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Are people genuinely concerned about the club paying someone 50k a week? It's not your money ffs. I think people's concerns (well mine is anyway) is that having someone in the dressing room earning more than the rest is going to upset the team spirit. As soon as he has a bad game or others don't feel he is putting the effort in then questions will be asked. It makes Nige's job more difficult!
johnny the fox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Are people genuinely concerned about the club paying someone 50k a week? It's not your money ffs. Im terrified.... many a mickle makes muckle..
Bayfox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Are people genuinely concerned about the club paying someone 50k a week? It's not your money ffs. Yes. Because if he gets 50k Then vardy, kasper, huth, James, king etc all deserve the same if not more. Tater peeler ring a bell?
katieakita Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 The way he spoke Tim Spiers sounded like his agent
lgfualol Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Hilarious if we pay him that much a week. I know we are getting him on a free but still seems a lot. I imagine a few of our players will be knocking on our clubs door asking for a raise if they read we're giving Sako 50k a week in the paper.
LCFC FOX Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 If Nige thinks he's good enough then he's good enough. in Nigel we trust
Long Eaton Fox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 I agree with the Bear. Schlupp, Fuchs and Sako will not play in the same team but it gives great options on the left hand side. Two from three every time.
4everfox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 So, it seems Sako will be our second acquisition. Good signing in my opinion, I'm just surprised Huth is taking so long to be snapped up and I'm also worried about the delay with regards to Cambiasso extending his stay. If both of those happen I can't see us signing any more then two additional players. Okazaki and...
Max Power Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Don't really understand why people are so bothered with the 50k a week, like it or not that's small beer for Prem teams now. I'd imagine other first team players will be getting pay bumps anyway. I think it's a good addition, always been impressed when I've seen him and I think he compliments our other options very nicely.
Robin JD Popley Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Very pleased. Think he will add a little something extra. We wanted him last season, if Geoff's sources are correct we missed out through no fault of our own or his so will be a good move for all round. Welcome to Leicester City Bakary.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 i think its more to do with 50k a week on a championship striker. We paid £8m for Ulloa, a Championship striker at the time.

Yep, people don't factor this in with their little calculations. I'm not crazy about this, on the other hand he's not really a boring signing. He's obviously one of those players that can win you matches on a good day. I just don't know whether he'll be consistent enough.
whitlock Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 No one really knows the fine details of wages or contracts. He might be on £50k a week with minimal or no bonus structure, compared to other players that could be on £30k basic with huge bonuses in place. Nige reiterates that he will only sign players he feels would 'fit in' or not 'rock the team spirit'. He wouldn't disrupt that himself by allowing a new player to earn almost double (if £30k is the figure quoted) a week. Chill. Sir Nige knows best.

My friends list consists of you and you alone Robin. Therefore you are my number one guy, however irrelevant this response is to your post I'm not flirting by the way.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 It only says we are tipped favourites? Other clubs could match his wages yet, why are people welcoming him?!
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 The only people who know the wages / overall package (signing on fee, wages, bonuses etc) will be a limited handful of people so you can largely ignore most gossip on the subject. Imagine (as a free transfer) they paid him a £3m signing on fee and 35k per week - over three years that's £8.4m Imagine they paid a £1m signing on fee and £50k per week - over three years that's £8.8m Only 400 grand difference over the space of three years, in football terms at our level that's bugger all. No doubt there'd also be something written into the contracts that if they're relegated they'd have to to take a cut and a sale fee would probably be included. I've said it before, forget all the bolllocks about a weekly wage and concentrate on the overall package.

The issue I have with £50k is that it seems an excessive amount of money for a winger who has spent the last two seasons in league 1 and the championship. It also represents quite an obstacle to selling him on and also sets a benchmark for the rest of the squad. Pay one player 50k and suddenly everyone re-negotiating wants parity. Ulloa is reported to earn 14k a week. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/101003-premier-league-strikers-cost-per-goal/Paying Sakho 50k would put him above Enner Valencia, Krikic and Sakho and I don't think he is 'better' than those players.
Wymsey Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 Think he's a similar player to Schlupp. Looks like someone nobody could push over.

If we want to offload a player then wages are often the biggest hurdle.
Lesta Legend Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 We paid £8m for Ulloa, a Championship striker at the time.Stop it with your reason and logic, they'll not get it no matter how much sense it makesSent from my D6603 using Tapatalk
sdb Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 £50k doesn't sit well with me, however I look at it. It's not about an overall 'package' for me, it's about a dozen other players suddenly feeling undervalued if he comes in on such a wage. And i'm not sure we can quite stretch to a £6-700k per week wage bill just yet...

Guest bss9401 Posted 15 June 2015 Posted 15 June 2015 I love how journalists always exaggerate by emphasising the "wage demands" bit. With NP it would simply be:- this is what we can offer, accept it or go away. Any deal is never as sensational as negative folk and journalists want it to appear. I will welcome Sako, even if it means that he is amongst the better paid within the club. A fantastic addition if we have him. Now Huth and Cambiasso please, even if it means a deal worth the equivalent of £50k per week!!!
