Sly Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 I was listening to TalkSport earlier today and they touched upon this. We all remember this right ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhNaZTNTdVA That was 2 years ago today! Well without that moment, that incredible low, we'd have never had some of our amazing highs like: Our Championship win with that amazing points haul. Our current Premier League campaign, with our roller coaster of a season (it's been eventful). Esteban Cambiasso That amazing 5-3 win against Manchester United, for me the game of this Premier League Season. So Troy, as a Leicester fan, I'd like to wish you happy "Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeney day" and thank you for the real low, that made the highs seem all that much better. Much love x
foxes_rule1978 Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 Don't recall such a day... must have completely forgotten
weller54 Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 Deeney is ugly Sean Dyche /Anne Widdecombe 's lovechild!
Captain... Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 I look forward to Deeney day next year when Watford's relegation is confirmed.
Number 6 Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 The fact that what has followed has been so good makes it easy to laugh at the Deeney moment.
MC Prussian Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 The top three hashtags in tweets containing "Watford FC" in the past 24 hours: 1. #CrapImTooYoungToRememberEltonJohn 2. #BeatenByBournemouth 3. #DeeneyDay
Carl the Llama Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 To be fair we already know how massive we are and it shows when clubs treat beating us in an inconsequential match as their biggest moment in history. They must be stoked to have the chance to compete for two more "we beat the Leicester City" days, I'm made up for their fans.
Corky Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 #revengeday on 2nd November. Let's do this boys. Or maybe not.
DennisNedry Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 For me the demons of that day were buried by the 3-0 win at Vicarage the following season, especially with Knockaert scoring.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 For me the demons of that day were buried by the 3-0 win at Vicarage the following season, especially with Knockaert scoring. Absolutely. Went completely and utterly crazy when he banged that one in. Not to mention Drinkwaters last minute screamer at home to equalise last season.
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 What's a Watford? Never heard of it or this deeneyday you talk of. Pure nonsense.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 I like Troy Deeney. Turned his life around, genuine and humble bloke and a decent player too. Very easy to have pre conceived ideas about people but he's been a real diamond to deal with this season.
EnglishOxide Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I don't mind Deeney. I mean I like Ulloa, but there's been times this season where I had hoped we had managed to sign Deeney instead. Having said that, if we stay up then Nigels decision not to chuck 10mill plus at him was a good one.
Guest Bilo Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I like Troy Deeney. Turned his life around, genuine and humble bloke and a decent player too. Very easy to have pre conceived ideas about people but he's been a real diamond to deal with this season. Deeney's a very decent player at Championship level, they'll need him to make the step up to the PL if they're to have any hope of staying up.
MC Prussian Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 They're actually celebrating it on their Facebook page - one fan's even got a "3-1" cushion! https://www.facebook.com/watfordfc?fref=ts
Super_horns Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 as their biggest moment in history. I would have thought this season now eclipses it given we actually got promoted..
Bert Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I would have thought this season now eclipses it given we actually got promoted.. You would think. But instead of celebrating promotion even your clubs official Twitter was getting involved in "Deeney Day". Pathetic.
ramboacdc Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I would have thought this season now eclipses it given we actually got promoted.. and lost the title in the last seconds too! but still invaded the pitch and celebrated missing out on the biggest trophy you (would) have ever won.
kingcarr21 Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 I would have thought this season now eclipses it given we actually got promoted.. We would have thought so aswel. Yet the only thing we seem to hear coming out of Watford is something which ultimately led to nothing. I find it absolutely hilarious that Watford fans actually think we care or still have nightmares over it. If anything it was probably the best thing to happen to us. As we absolutely destroyed the Championship the following season and embarrassed you in the process. The fact some Watford fans now see us as a rival is laughable.
Super_horns Posted 13 May 2015 Posted 13 May 2015 and lost the title in the last seconds too! but still invaded the pitch and celebrated missing out on the biggest trophy you (would) have ever won. People were getting ahead of themselves there but think it would have happened regardless TBH...the club almost encouraged it by saying the players might have to go into the stand (new) Certainly one particular pitch invader just before the SW free kick won't be too popular! And yes there was a real sense of disappointment we didn't win the title.
